No traceyb, Toy Story 3 comes to town this weekend. Dc1 very excited. Sounds like you had an expensive day school uniform wise. Such a frustrating way to spend money!!

Tbh if Dh went away for a few days I think I'd do dukan too. I must by the book in anticipation!

blossoming · 06/09/2010 18:00

georgina, I linked to the three buckle knee high boot before, but I also like the city drawstring jacket (page 45). What's taken your fancy?

traceybath · 06/09/2010 18:02

Good job you did playroom sorting before seeing toy story - I did shed a few tears - its such a lovely film.

Yes uniform expensive but get to hand it all down to ds2 thankfully.

My sister has just phoned - some man has phoned her because he's found my brand new mobile that I didn't even realise I'd lost Blush. How nice of him though to hand it in to a shop after finding out who it belonged too Smile

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2010 18:08

TraceyB no green stuff for first few days. Then you can eat salad-y veg. I had an energy drop then felt good again. I like to imagine it was the changing of gears from carbs energy to protein or something.

Btw tuna is 2 for 1 on Ocado Grin (surprised in the hike in tuna prices these days)

traceybath · 06/09/2010 18:12

No green stuff would be hard but hey I think I'm going to give it a go.

MarshaBrady · 06/09/2010 18:26

Only for a few days TraceyB, how many days will you drop the veg?

notyummy · 06/09/2010 18:30

Ooh, I like that grey dress from Kew - although at last count I had at least 4 day dresses in grey (mainly bought for work!) I do not need any more.

Meant to say, did a little bit of underwear shopping at the weekend - the friend who I was visiting manages a lingerie shop! After her tutting at me for year, I finally got properly measure (32A - what a tiddler..) and bought some bras and seamless knickers. Resisted the beuatiful, but V expensive fancy stuff - £80 for a pair of pants; whats that all about??

Same friend also gave me a pretty Therapy dress, white with butterflies on. She had bought it hoping to loose weight and fit into it, but unless she is about to have a breast reduction she eventually dedcided it was a non-starter - so I benefited!

Same here, notyummy, but I am on a mission to find the 'perfect' grey dress, you see Wink
I'll ebay the others,perhaps!

FritziGreenEyes · 06/09/2010 19:19

Love the grey dress georgina. Although the colour is called "bark". Would that be brown? Confused

I would never be brave enough to even attempt a day of Dukan. Can you add anything to fish/ham/meat? I liked the sound of the Lean and Clean diet someone linked to last week.

FritziGreenEyes · 06/09/2010 19:24

Lovely colour

bunnymother · 06/09/2010 19:48

Fritzi - lovely blue dress you linked to!

Thanks for all the tips re the nappy bag (ie how to buy red leather bag and still make DH happy...). Good point re when is DH actually going to be taking it around by himself! We have a North Face rucksack that we use (as well as the big Boots bag) that DH likes and will continue to use. Will continue to think about the Kew bag - 'tis v nice.

I will certainly need a nice new treat when the babies arrive, and am also thinking about a new dressing gown - the White Company velour one is the main contender so far.

Bloss - chased by cows?! Shock

notyummy - new underwear is so so nice, isn't it?! Gives one such a lift (a ha ha ha!!).

mrsjuan · 06/09/2010 20:01

Bunny - I bet it is starting to seem a lot more real now - you will definitely need a nice treat - kew bag is lovely & I'm sure you can consider a new dressing gown as an essential purchase to make all those night feeds more bearable!

Bloss - how scary about the cows. Love love love that Barbour

Have stuck to just protein today. Agree that the oatbran is pretty good and filling but hate that Mr Dukan makes you feel like you should be pathetically grateful for the 1.5 tbsp allowance!

traceybath · 06/09/2010 20:11

So this oatbran - what does one do with it? It sounds like horse-food Smile

Bunny - white co velour dressing gown sounds very sensible.

Do you have the cocoon for your phil and teds? Your welcome to mine if not.

I shoud get my barbour tomorrow - very excited and really hope I like it.

Somehow have ds1 in my bed tonight - goodness knows why but he has been very good today Smile

mrsjuan · 06/09/2010 20:18

Horse food is probably more tasty to be honest.

I just mixed it in with a bowl of yoghurt but for a real treat you can make a 'galette' by mixing it with an egg, fromage frais & aspartame (Hmm) and frying it like a pancake.

GeorginaWorsley · 06/09/2010 20:19

fritzi love the Kew silk dresses too!
Yes,I suppose bark would be brown, really.
I like this one also
www.kew-online.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/dresses/Knot-Front-Long-Sleeve-Dress/99902035
In fact,I prefer that one,and it is a good price. Smile

traceybath · 06/09/2010 20:23

Georgi - love the bark dres - very Viv!

MrsJ - oh that galette sounds interesting - imagine adding some aspartame Shock

mrsjuan · 06/09/2010 20:23

Can I ask the shorter ladies on here if they know any good places to get jersey dresses (or dresses in general) from? I've tried on a few but they all seem to fall to very unflattering lengths. (I'm after one just above the knee)

OllieWollieWoo · 06/09/2010 20:23

Nearly time for a new thread - any suggestions re titles?????

Liking your links GW. Think Kew and Great Plains have some nice stuff at the moment compared to the last few seasons. Was it you (ages ago) that liked some bits from Bonaparte? I'm really disappointed with their A/W stuff.

Wont be everyone's cup of tea but my sister brought this today for work which I thought was quite nice here

I'm putting off Dukan til next week - which is what I said last week...... My excuse is I've yet to find out what oatbran is in Dutch to enable me to buy it!!!

eshermummy · 06/09/2010 20:25

MM - don't worry it wasn't cold at all I just noticed that the evenings were getting a bit cooler (needed a light jacket or cardigan) whereas the first 5 days it was so warm at night that I was in strapless and was really warm. Also to begin with it was quite humid in the daytime but by the end it was less so - think the daytime temp was actually the same but just felt less uncomfortable - so good really Smile

Tracey - oooh yes, go on, please do the Dukan experiment for me please Grin. I am going to give my trying to be healthy eating plan a go for the rest of this week but if I don't see any poundage move then I will need to consider more drastic measures.

I liked that betty draper dress you linked to on the other thread btw. Although as I don't watch madmen I prefer to think of it as chanelling a Dolce & Gabbana/Sophia Loren/Italian black widow vibe which I am loving. Last winter I slightly forswore off black but am thinking that I can break my own rule for evening wear although am still trying not to buy any black for day that's next to my face. Bit hard to rock either the black widow or luxe goth (my other winter fave) if I'm not allowed black Hmm

Agree with those of you saying lots of nice things in Kew - although does anyone else think things look much nicer in the catalogue than on the website.
I thought this dress looked lovely as styled in the catalogue with a belt and knee high boots (last page or nearly last I think) but is a bit meh on the website no?

I also really like this, which may well be my reward if I am successful in getting back down to target weight Grin.

Despite saying no shopping till thin, I can feel a little ASOS shop coming on ........will report back once done!

mrsjuan · 06/09/2010 20:26

Tracey - I know - he recommends a whole tbsp of the stuff! He has some funny ideas Confused

traceybath · 06/09/2010 20:27

MrsJ - I have [http://www.aflondon.com/p-1560-animal-print-wrap-dress.aspx this]] which is above my knee. But may be too bet lynch for you Wink

Kew dresses come up a reasonable length also warehouse and french connection.

Or look for tunics and just wear them as a dress.

OWW - I like that m&s dress - v nice.

happilyeverafter · 06/09/2010 20:29

Fritzi - White Co dress is this one, I think I will keep it based on DH boob comment. I love that quote and agree wholeheartedly. Strangers can compliment me endlessly and I find it embarrassing but DH says something simple and I turn to mush.

OWW* Glad you enjoyed facial

Bloss That Barbour is tres chic, you absolutely deserve it after your cow ordeal.

Tracey I cried at TS3 too.

MIL just sent me a photo from Sat night of me in FC dress, whenever they babysit and we are dressed up we have to 'pose' for a photo before we leave, I find it strangely endearing.

rufus101 · 06/09/2010 20:36

God, Dukan sounds miserable. 11/2 tps of oatbran! Love the "treat" of the galatte MrsJuan. Was going to make an attempt to start today, thought how difficult can it be? Just protein, then someone at work brought sweetie back from their hols and Dukan went out the window. Even had some brown bread, and green beans this evening for good measure (with other stuff obviously!)
Bloss I love that Barbour. Let me know if it's warm, I'm in the market for a warm coat/jacket.
my jbrand jeggings arrived today. Am very pleased with them. Shopbop now add the import tax on, so that you don't have to pay UPS, which is great. Have them on me as I speak, with these in black (from last A/W)
I can tell they will have to be surgically removed. Soooh comfortable.

TwasEverThus · 06/09/2010 20:36

That Temperley dress has brought me out of my W&A lurk .

Hope you get it, EM.
