Happy Birthday Monkeysmama and Tracey's ds!!
Have wonderful days!

Zembo · 13/08/2010 11:06

Happy birthday MM and Tracey's DS - enjoy!

Libra, love the Brora links. Don't think they have a pre-xmas sale but sometimes do free delivery and v occasionally 10% off (I think!) - they don't discount every few days like Boden Smile

traceybath · 13/08/2010 12:15

Hello!

Happy Birtday MM and yeay for the jacket Grin

DS1 and DH off on 10 mile cycle ride or possibly longer if DS gets his way. He's seen a 6 year old boy cycled 12 miles and being uber-competitive he wants to go further.

I made Nigella's choc fudge cake - it looks very yummy indeed.

I love brora stuff but it is vvv expensive so only buy in the sales.

bunnymother · 13/08/2010 12:36

MM - happy birthday and congratulations on the new leather jacket! Am trying not to think about how much I would enjoy some Prosecco around about now... Grin

Tracey - happy birthday to DS1!! Am also trying not to think about how much choc fudge cake I could devour around about now Grin

Brora does look lovely (some of it, I don't love it all), but the prices are Shock. A friend's DH bought her the cashmere cardi wrap for her to enjoy during pregnancy, only it was £495. Now, she likes beautiful things as much as the next person, but sent it right back (thought it over priced). The Burberry trench she got for Mother's Day on the other hand... Well, that's a keeper!

Re teeth whitening, thanks for all the feedback! Think will wait until post DCs then give the Crest ones a go. Its about both the time and the money - find it much easier to DIY beauty items as don't have a lot of time without DD (soon to be DCs) and will have even less soon so have to get smart about my beauty outings (which each seem to take half a day).

Am I the only one who does all the admin /social organising and finds themselves quite busy during nap/babysitting times? Appreciate am spoilt by having a cleaner and groceries home delivered, so not exactly getting flogged to death. [sheepishly backs away from comment as appreciates am fortunate]

bunnymother · 13/08/2010 12:42

Despite claiming to be busy... Had a looksy at Facebook and it suggests I add someone w initials of AH who is also friends w LTEC - who is that?

hellsbelles · 13/08/2010 13:23

hello all, Happy birthday to MM & Tracey's DS. A good friend of mine shares a birthday with you all too!

MM - three cheers for the jacket.

NY - my tips would be...don't get disheartened if you don't lose much to begin with. I was expecting it all to go very quickly (and the site suggested just 2 days on the 'attack' phase)...so I continued for 6 days...and then suddenly it all started working. I splashed out and bought the best steaks I could. I also had lots of prawns, white crab meat and that kind of thing to snack on). My 'treat' for the day was a fat free vanilla yoghurt from waitrose - totally yummy. It may have more sugar in it than we are supposed to have but so what!

I was strict about no wine on the attack phase but as soon as I stopped the attack I went back to a glass a night. I also ignored the 'no olive oil' after the attack phase...and that doesn't seem to have hindered me. I did get to my target weight almost to the day they predicted on the site.

Good luck with it!

I've been pretty boring on the A&W front.

I did succumb to the jbrand skinny cords. I know they are too expensive but I love them. And I was like an A&W magpie yesterday...as I wore my new DVF scarf (inspired by Carcifio) and my lovely pink bag (a la cake).

I'm still searching for the perfect biker boot....but dug through my messy wardrobe and found one of my first ever 'luxe' purchases - a max mara camel coat (snap rufus) and it still looks amazing.

I need a proper dress for meetings. I love [[http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/95766 this jil sander) - though I know it's a bit boring and far too £££.

Off to do some catching up.

traceybath · 13/08/2010 13:27

Lovely dress Hells - have you looked at lk bennett as they seem to do a good range of smart dresses.

hellsbelles · 13/08/2010 13:31

opps this jil sander

Tracey - for some reason I always forget about LK Bennett for clothes - but you are right that is a good idea. I shall have a look at their stuff.

How is Master Bath's day going?

traceybath · 13/08/2010 13:43

He's out with daddy at the moment on their epic bike ride - think they're going for 12+ miles and then home for pasta and pesto - yes thats what he wanted for his birthday dinner!

I ask you - of all the things I cook - pasta and pesto with 'no vegetables mummy' is what he wants Hmm

hellsbelles · 13/08/2010 14:01

typical! Chicken Kiev (not the homemade version) is the birthday favourite here!

carciofi · 13/08/2010 14:31

Happy birthday MM and Tracey's ds!

Hells, I love the scarf too. Haven't worn it yet but I probably could wear it today. The dress is lovely, not boring at all!

Dawley, if you really prefer the Alexa, you should exchange the bag. The boots and bag are both gorgeous.

Libra, good discount, I think you should get the IO tops. You can always ebay them afterwards:) I was looking at the trilby too, I like it.

DD is asleep and I am making coffee cake. I posted a photo of her in my profile, piling on the accessories!

bunnymother · 13/08/2010 14:33

DH's favourite meals? Spaghetti bolognaise or spaghetti w meatballs. Dear me.

bunnymother · 13/08/2010 14:34

A ha ha ha, little Carciofi - a real "more is more" girl, is she?! Grin

DolceeBanana · 13/08/2010 14:35

love that Jil Sander Hells...

mine adore pesto too...which I was a bit Hmm about at first!

glad H is having a good day, and Happy Birthday MM...that jacket is gorgeous!

well, tis truly autumnal here, a season I love, but I want it to be actually autumn in proper september, rather than be shortchanged on our summer!!!

off to devour the latest Vogue...!

FritziGreenEyes · 13/08/2010 14:40

Happy birthday monkeysmama! Have a lovely day with your family and enjoy your leather jacket!!!

tracey - Happy birthday to your DC! His birthday cake and dinner sound perfect Smile.

I injured a tendon in my foot while clumsily tiptoeing down the stairs yesterday evening after DD had fallen asleep. My foot is now wrapped and twice as big. Will be a sartorial challenge to find a shoe that will fit... Glad my parents are here at the moment. Feel a bit sorry for myself and had a glass of rose with high carb lunch today. Blush

Brora links really cheered me up libra! Gorgeous clothes. Never knew liberty printed panties existed but now I feel I may need some Hmm.

Hells - I love Jil Sander clothes. Had a few trousers and some knitwear when I was still working in an office and the quality is excellent. Dress is lovely but expensive.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/08/2010 14:42

Carciofilette is gorgeous and looks very glam!

carciofi · 13/08/2010 14:48

Hehe, thanks ladies.
Fritzi, oh poor you, sorry about your foot.

I ordered the Boden denim skirt and these in blue and black to wear under cardigans.

traceybath · 13/08/2010 15:40

Spooky carciofi - I'd added the pink to my basket as thought it was quite anglomania'ish. No purchasing as yet though as ruminating . . .

Fritzi - ouch!

Mini-carciofi - is so cute.

littledawley · 13/08/2010 15:52

thanks all - am going to swap the bag but keep the boots!

Huge thanks also for the IO link - I was going to buy lots from their 365 range the other day but never checked out - 33% off is brilliant!

vinovino · 13/08/2010 15:54

aww gorgeous carciofilette!

Happy birthday MM and master bath!

I have not tried MAC lipstick (well I had one years ago from an airport in a very misguided colour) any good? I get scared at makeup counters by all the mirrors and lights and keenness!

Have been very bad and have overspent on various things such as yet more blue jeans but in a different size and yet another t shirt and yet another cami top I may not ever wear still coveting this dress which is plain but I love washed silk, not sure if an 8 would be optimistic though, also may not be wise!

For A/W I am after some knee high high heeled boots, a super multitasking dress and a leather jacket that fits as my recent acquisition is too big and the sleeves are ridiculously long . Also no doubt an array of bags which cost more than monthly rent/mortgage will suddenly seem irresistible to me Blush

vinovino · 13/08/2010 15:58

NB
If I go awol I have banned myself from the internet due to exams rather than other major crises at present

I can spend so long internet shopping and wasting time reading stuff online (this invaluable thread is excluded, this is essential Grin) that suddenly hours and hours have gone by! I will be back properly in mid September until then I will pop up occasionally if that's ok

bunny meant to say, when I signed the consent for the whitening I had to confirm not pregnant etc and Im not sure anything is entirely recommended until afterwards so you made the right decision there

vinovino · 13/08/2010 16:02

Oh am also liking this and this sonia rykiel jumpers but in the name of wiseness not avidness I am resisting as I would probably wear them once, and cost per wear that is shockingly bad

FritziGreenEyes · 13/08/2010 16:03

vino - Jeans and cami look great. Oh and that dress, just gorgeous!!!

DD has two friends over to play. They are plastering the deck on the terrace with mud from the garden and making soup for me from grass, twigs and flowers Smile.

traceybath · 13/08/2010 16:08

Gorgeous buys vino especially the cami - would look gorgeous under a leather jacket Grin

So which date have we settled on for meet-up the 9th or 16th of october?

vinovino · 13/08/2010 16:25

Oh tracey you are naughty Grin I am loving the look of MM's new jacket but we live quite close to each other and MM may get spooked if I start wearing what she wears and we bump into each other haha..

That sounds like a lovely soup fritzi. I used to eat grass when I was a child, no idea why I did that Hmm surely it wasn't just me..!?
