Clearomisers, Clearos, Tanks, Cartomisers, Atomisers

As the title says, thread about the different types of e-liquid containers that are attached to batteries.

Cartomisers are the sealed disposable containers used in cigalike devices. They are prefilled with the liquid and have a built in atomiser to vaporise the liquid

Clearos, clearomisers and tanks are different names for the same thing, a refillable container for the liquid which also has an atomiser - though in many cases this atomiser can be replaced or even "rebuilt" i.e. the coil and wick replaced.

Useful link I found the other day HERE.

Mine arrived this morning, they seem to be proper original GS-H2s in their individual branded boxes, and the 2 I've used so far seem absolutely fine. At £10.99 for 10, that's silly cheap!

Another plus point is that though I've gone for the mixed selection, you can have all 10 in a colour of your choice e.g. pink, purple, smoke, clear etc.

To add, you can also get refillable cartomisers so you can put whatever liquid you like in them.

In fact, you can refill most of the cig alike cartomisers (there are some brands that are glued shut) - here's a to show you how. Ignore the bit at the end where he tells you about the quality of his e liquid, he is chatting shit.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2014 14:31

You can also get mini clearos that fit on some of the mini batteries used for cigalikes Smile

I'm being a bit of a tit and cant work out what i've ordered from fasttech!

Heres the link

www.fasttech.com/products/1609800

I thought they were all set up to go clearos but they seem to be empty tubes with no coil or are they disposable ones with a tiny built in coil Confused

I ordered 30 wickless coils to put in them which wont fit but thankfully i can use them with my CE5.

That will teach me to get carried away with all the lovely colourful goodies on fasttech!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 18:08

Yes they are ready to go Smile They are bottom coils, like the GS-H2 and the evod.

What are wickless coils?

Raia · 24/04/2014 18:11

Can anyone recommend the best/cheapest/your favourite place to get replacement atomisers for the iClear 30? Thanks

Also, how long would you expect an atomiser head thingy (not quite got the terminology down yet ...) to last if you're basically chuffing on the thing all day? I've had this clearo about 10 days now and already cleaned and dry burned it twice. The coil gets all black and claggy Confused

whatadrama · 24/04/2014 18:12

The wick isnt hanging out, its tucked inside the coil instead.

I ordered these

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 18:15

RAIA, how long a coil lasts depends on what you're vaping, and what voltage you're using. Sweet liquids clog up heads quicker than tobaccos or menthol. The heads on my vape only ets, vaping vampvape last a couple of weeks.

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 18:19

Whatadrama, never seen ones like the second link. Are they cartomisers?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 18:22

Raia, they have iclear 30 atomisers on myepack

We should have a 'wtf have I bought from fasttech?' thread Grin

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 18:26

I have an iclear 30s which has those style atomisers, whatadrama. They're like other top coils (the sort with the long dangly wicks) but the wicks are tucked in a little metal 'cage', gin.

I find the darker the liquid the faster it clogs up. I only get a few days with some of the coffee liquids.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2014 18:26

Gin if you look at the first link, you can see the coil sort of poking up from the bottom of the clearo. The 2nd link is for just the coils, that are replaceable on most bottom coil clearos.

whatadrama · 24/04/2014 18:27

No just coils that fit into my CE5+ Clearo

www.fasttech.com/products/1629406

It worked out really cheap on fasttech so i ordered in bulk but confused myself with what i ordered.

I've been so used to sticking to my totally wicked EGo twist that all of this new stuff has baffled me!

I dont even know the proper names for half of it and i've been vaping for 18 months Blush

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 18:33

Allergic, i'm very familiar with evod heads, it was the second one I hadn't seen before. My I clear 30 came with regular dual wick top coil, never seen one with a head like that? Where did you get it plenty?

Raia · 24/04/2014 18:37

Ta for the info about the iClear 30. I've been vaping egg custard tart in it so that'll be why it gets all clogged up Cake

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 18:39

It's a different model, gin - the iclear 30 S, sent to me by a kind MNer Smile

I can't keep up with the rate they release new models of everything. It makes me feel old, I just want the change to stop now Grin

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 18:42

Cheers plenty, is it awkward to clean?

I'm trying not to get into the habit of buying new stuff when I'm happy with my current set up, though might be tempted by the I tastevv, if only the battery life was better.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 18:49

I don't know gin, I haven't tried it yet. I will be giving it a whirl soon though because my GS-H2s look a bit daft on top of the Vamo.

Have you got an MVP? They're the business for battery life.

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 19:00

Yes, I got an mvp2 a few months ago, and love it, it would be nice to have something a bit slimmer for out and about.

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 19:05

Am I right in thinking the vamo isn't vv? Really like the look of them!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 19:06

Vamo with a 18650 battery?

Oh shit, we're derailing the thread Shock We'll have to watch that now we have a whole topic to play with.

ginmakesitallok · 24/04/2014 19:08

Whoops, over to batteries......

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 24/04/2014 19:08

it does vv, vw and has an ohms reader. You can use it in mini mode with a 18350 battery (about 700 mah) or big mode with a 18650. I love it although I can't work out why it's so much hotter than the mvp2 on the same settings.
