Am I just being petty? (Sharing Subscriptions etc)

We pay for Netflix. The DSC wants to have the log on so they can watch it at mums. Fair enough I guess but then I thought no hang on.. we pay for that and mum is blatantly going to watch it. Also I don't want to go to watch something and be like oh no now I have to ask DH to text DSC to ask them to log off. Also they can see what I've been watching and it makes me feel a bit like privacy being invaded knowing mum can see all the dull documentaries I like to watch.

But then part of me feels like I'm just being petty.

What do all you other step families do with subscription services like netflix?

I haven't mentioned the ex. Just that it's ops login, she can only watch on a single screen and she wants to watch it. That isn't spiteful. If you had only one of something that you paid for you wouldn't be lending it out when you wanted to use it, would you?

My ex is watching my Netflix on DC tablet. And I know it doesn’t cost me anything but it really really annoys me.

He never paid any maintenance or any costs towards the children such as clothes or phones. And him taking from me in the form of the Netflix watching really really upsets me.

Dc are grown up and the minute they go to visit he’s right on there like a hairy bear watching my Netflix that I pay for.

It really feels like a piss take. I get it op.

Leave my child out of it. I never said they were "special". They aren't "poor" they get horse riding lessons that their mum pays for they aren't poor hahahaha

Shall I ask if my DC can use the horse they ride at the stables? And she'll have to let them other wise they are being petty as it won't cost them more they can just let my DC have 10 mins at the end of their lesson.

AND? My DC is also my husbands. So if anyone with a kid with my husband has to pay for the other household to have netflix then the same should go for horse riding lessons.

Ahh you see this board is often haunted by the golden uterus/first wives club and many haven't worked out their issues so they come on here and will have you believing the right to Netflix paid for by someone else is their right and if not it is child abuse 🙃

How are they facing any hardship having to wait until next time they are at ours? Seriously? We have lots of things at ours they don't have at mums and mum has things we don't have at hers.

Don't worry people are just working through their issues. It reflects more on them than anything but does me feel sorry for their kids though.

Imagine your mum being this hostile to your dad and his family. I was part of a blended family growing and my dear step sister used to cringe when her mum went like this. Honestly she was so embarrassed but we all knew it wasn't her fault her mum was acting like she sniffed glue on the regular.

I have seen how tit for tat effects DSC everyday though. Overhearing toxic conversations about their other families and feeling like they have been shelved. Feeling different to their siblings. Comments like 'It's not fair' ...
