I hate my step kids!

They live with us full time, are parasites, and have ruined my relationship with my husband. Now though, I blame it on him for being spineless and taking every spat as my fault. I dont want to walk away but I can not see another option :-(

I think everyone has a balanced view of SP need maybe more of us will be venturing on the SP boards by way of support offered and support needed Which has got to be a good thing.

I certainly hope that this thread hasn't darkened any of your views on step parents.

Step parents are just people.

They are nothing better or worse than any other type of parent.

Good, bad, indifferent - the usual mix. We have been responding to an individual person, on this thread, who also happens to be a step parent.

TBH there are other recent threads (lots) that gave a horrific impression of SMs. Because the hardliners dominate and drive others away.

A better mix of people creates a more balanced impression.

And the origin of some of these pseudo-diagnoses that get trotted out needed exposing. Noone is saying that toxic bloggers represent all step-parents.

Well, I might resort to luring SD over if I can't defrost the chicken in time.

Of course, I'll make her scrub the house top to bottom first!

It needs to stand to emphasise that the SP board is a place for support and advice on coping and changing but not a place for mutual back slapping and go-sista-ing between women (or men) who hate their stepchildren.

And I agree hoobs, thread should stand, warts and all.
