We were deleting as a response to reports, and some of the OP's posts have been deleted too.

We could go through the thread and delete every personal attack, but we feel that with only 46 posts left to go until the thread is full, there is little point in doing so - hence the beg plea for people to keep to the guidelines moving forwards.

We bought my brother in law one like this for his birthday, Arsenic.

He wore it for the entirety of his birthday BBQ.

The only one I have had deleted is one saying what a great post Walter wrote. I stand by it. I'm glad my other posts were left to stand and that brdgrls were too, in all their glory.

Just to derail for a moment.

I'm a bit worried that a sales rep for the British Second Wives club also turned up on thread. It is a toxic, bitter place. I haven't stuck my head in recently but I wouldn't be surprised if 'mini-wife syndrome' isn't popular there too. (I'm getting very suspicious of the phrase 'safe space to talk' now.)

She was repping on other threads this week too.

Too much to hope that the haters take up the invitation and flock over there. I was just wondering if there is a way of countering all this with at least some decent links and book recommendations for newbies who wander innocently onto the board.

I don't think that the thread should be deleted. I think it should stand as a reassurance to all that there is no tolerance of spite and abuse towards stepchildren due to selfishness, entitlement and jealousy.

It needs to stand to emphasise that the SP board is a place for support and advice on coping and changing but not a place for mutual back slapping and go-sista-ing between women (or men) who hate their stepchildren.

Maybe OP herself reported it, having had second thoughts about hurling insults around. If so, it wasn't necessary OP, a simple apology would be fine.
