They live with us full time, are parasites, and have ruined my relationship with my husband. Now though, I blame it on him for being spineless and taking every spat as my fault. I dont want to walk away but I can not see another option :-(

Tappergirl in approx 72 hours your dh has gone from a spineless waste of space, and other choice epithets, who you were considering leaving to a gentleman who you love and who loves you and with whom you can battle through pain and problems.

That's a pretty swift turnaround.

Any chance of an equally swift turnaround from "I hate my step kids, they are parasites" to "I love my step kids, they are a joy to have around even though they are teenagers, they enrich my life and it is so lovely to see how close my step daughter is to her dad particularly after all they have been through, I don't regret for one second making our home theirs too."

I suspect your answer will be slim to nil.
