They live with us full time, are parasites, and have ruined my relationship with my husband. Now though, I blame it on him for being spineless and taking every spat as my fault. I dont want to walk away but I can not see another option :-(

I couldn't agree more, I have noticed it for a while now and as I said previously people have been banned for going up against it. Also most be people haven't got the energy to read lengthy posts and nitpick over every little point so it's easier just not to bother and that's why it's kind of taken over that board. Reason has been bullied off it!

First or second time I went on there someone referred to a 9 year old girl as "stupid and horrible", now yes kids can be horrible but stupid? Is that ever acceptable? It was also clear that the Dad was pretty much abusive so was a clear explanation for the girls behaviour. I said really quite reasonably "it's not on to call a young girl stupid" That's ALL i said. I was told to "piss off", accused of being a long standing SM hating troll with an agenda, told I was attacking the OP (all posts to the OP were nothing but supportive), I was searched on and told that as I had never been on SP before I MUST have name changed to attack them it just went on and on. My supportive posts to the OP were not addressed and in the end SHE told me to get off her thread too! Grin

So I took a look at some more threads and it was happening over and over and always the same names. Last week there was the SM bingo thread and the poster who was drubbed on there and has now name changed to "hide" from them.

I think the first instinct is attack anyone who disagrees if that doesn't work (it usually does) then there's this absolute investment in "winning" which doesn't do anything to move a discussion forward but ensures you probably won't go back for a second try and so everything stays the same i.e being able to say really spiteful things about your step kids and be supported in doing so.

I name change regularly after an unfortunate incident when a poster decided to AS me and figure out where I lived and lots of other details then collate the info and posted it on a thread because she didn't agree with me. Hmm

However I have been a member (when I first registered) for about 18 months. I went on a SP thread and because I objected and wouldn't join in the SDC/EXW bashing I was bullied off. I haven't really bothered commenting since then until this thread.

Wtf Flossy?! I'm Shock

AmyMumsnet · 03/08/2014 11:52

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your reports. We can see this thread has got a bit heated but how about a bit of peace and love in the last 70 posts?

FlossyMoo · 03/08/2014 11:53

It was last year Walt. It did make me realise you are not as anonymous as you think and anyone with spare time can AS you and piece bits of threads together to get a big picture of your life. Hence my now regular NC's.

I briefly looked at the SM bingo and although I do see some of the statements trotted out on SP threads it is no more prolific than the same statements that are trotted out on other boards such as 'words on a screen', 'LTB' and 'nice first post OP' to name but a few. I found the bingo thread just turned in to a place where posters gathered to laugh and judge those that have tried to help/support or give a different POV.

I felt incredibly sorry for the poster that was vilified for disagreeing and saying she felt the SM/O brought nothing to her DC's life. She was clearly still hurting and rightly so but only a few posters attempted to support her others just bullied her of the thread. I do hope she is ok?

*Disclaimer I did not mean this to be a TAAT but I felt it was relevant to the current conversation.

Hi everyone

Have OP's posts been deleted, or just mine?

Waltermittythesequel · 03/08/2014 11:59

Floss

That is truly awful. I just can't imagine getting so invested in a stranger's posts that you descend to that level of creepiness.

Very disturbing.

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 12:00

Yes the bingo thread was nasty.

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 12:02

At least one of mine was too Walt

NickiFury · 03/08/2014 12:02

Well the thread will no doubt be full by the time Tapper is in her cups this evening so I think it will probably remain quite pleasant until then Wink

hoobypickypicky · 03/08/2014 12:02

I was deleted! Shock

OK, let me put it this way. Tappergirl, you admit to not liking your husband's children and to having no bond or relationship with them.

You also admit to liking a wee dram.

It is a fact that it is perfectly possible for mankind to prefer, or to have a stronger relationship with, one person, group of people or activity than another.

Pleased to see the nice selection of hats remains Grin

EthicalPickle · 03/08/2014 12:08

OP 'saved' the step kids from being farmed out to strangers but I wonder those strangers would have made them feel more 'wanted' than Trapper Sad

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 12:12

An early one of Nicki's was deleted, then the one in which Tapper staggered in and called us all twats, couple(?) of Walter's, one of hoob's and they deleted my lovely hat!

Best counting on fingers I can manage Smile

FlossyMoo · 03/08/2014 12:13

Oh was that your beer hat? Oops Smile

PerpendicularVincenzo · 03/08/2014 12:13

This reply has been deleted

hoobypickypicky · 03/08/2014 12:14

I still have Walters deleted comments onscreen.

If you want a copy, let me know. Grin

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 12:15

It was a 'liquid refreshment' hat, if you don't mind Floss suitable for ALL beverages Wink

Waltermittythesequel · 03/08/2014 12:16

hooby Grin you rebel!

hoobypickypicky · 03/08/2014 12:17

Your hat was deleted? Shock

So calling a stepchild a little bitch, a mini-wife (with all it's nasty meanings) and so up her own backside is ok but a photo of a bloody hat is off limits?

What did the hat have on it? "Fuck off you poisonous witch"? No? Well why the deletion then?

FlossyMoo · 03/08/2014 12:17

Ahem I stand corrected it was the beer cans that alluded to the alcohol usage Grin

Waltermittythesequel · 03/08/2014 12:17

It wasn't deleted.

Tapper took it for this evening.

ArsenicFaceCream · 03/08/2014 12:18

Vive la revolucion

I hate my step kids!
hoobypickypicky · 03/08/2014 12:19

*its, not it's. I'm so shocked I've lost my ability to punctuate.
