Hello alligator, hope you're OK Smile

alligator · 01/06/2006 11:45

I'm fine thanks NAAM.

Had a nice weekend. Dp dropped dss back yesterday.

Have to have a boast about hime too. On Tuesday night I asked him to do the washing up. I was getting dd ready for bed and dp was ill and in bed. Didnt think he'd manage without encouragement and me helping but came down to washing up down and stacked neatly on the draining board, sides wiped down and a clean sink. WOW was soooo impressed!!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 11:55

Aww bless him. It's little things like that that make it all worthwhile isn't it? Specially when they do it without being asked

Squirrel I really hope your interview goes well Smile

alligator · 01/06/2006 11:57

Am sitting here grinning at the thought of you with tipex all over you Sorry but cant help it.

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 12:05

Thank you Naam and alligator, I knew I could count on you to wish me luck. Smile

Alligator, your dss does the washing-up! Send him round to mine, my step-kids wouldn't do it even if I asked them!!!

Naam, I am laughing too at the tipex incident, sorry I can't help it!

Grin

Don't blame you, it was funny

FruitAndNutcase · 01/06/2006 12:20

Hi Alligator, funny thing that..... we had 2 youngest stepkids last weekend at DP's parent's house and I went out into the kitchen to wash up after tea and DSS (9)came out and asked if he could wash up for me!!! I was so chuffed, bless him Grin

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 12:20

~sigh~ just had another row with dp, I have been asking him for weeks to find out the dates we are having the kids for the summer holidays, (I will probably have to tell them at the interview when I have a holiday booked) and he still hasn't done it.

I told him I might even cancel the interview because I'm soooooooooooooo tired, I don't think I can do it. I feel close to tears where I am so tired and I have to go for an interview! Feel like just going to bed instead!

NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 12:26

Angry for you Squirrel, what on earth's stopping him from asking a simple question fgs?? Don't suppose it's an option for you to ask BM yourself is it? Could you perhaps find out from dss? You shouldn't have to I know....

Please try to go for your interview, it may well turn out to be your dream job Smile

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 12:29

Asking BM isn't an option, dss will not know, (he is nearly as clueless as dp).

It may well be my dream job but I an really not a good advert for a leisure centre atm, I look awful!!!!!! I will go and try but I think I am going to make a fool of myself again. Sad

FruitAndNutcase · 01/06/2006 12:32

Squirrel, I am so angry at your DP for making you feel like this. You have a great opportunity for a new job, you are a loving and caring partner and SM and he is having no respect for your or your feelings at all. I am very disappointed at him and very sad for you. Sorry rant over!

NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 12:41

Well said FANC!!

Squirrel you'll be fine, trust me Smile

Just think, after tomorrow you'll be away from the job you don't like - and the job you so deserve is only just around the corner Smile

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 12:55

Thank you, am off in a min, will let you know what happened later.

Hello, I am back, boy what a quick interview!

I was offered the job on the spot, infact they were almost begging me to take the job, it sounds like an interesting job with nice people etc.......

The catch.............?

The hours, its shift work, most days finishing at 9pm, told them I would think about it and get back to them in a few days...........

and we didn't even touch on the subject of money!!!!!

Oh well, it wasn't even worth getting stressed about!! [disapointed emoticon]

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 14:40

So glad it went well Smile

Strange that they didn't discuss money though don't you think? Perhaps they're waiting for you to tell them how much you want Grin

PS....the dress has arrived! It's with next door atm, DP is going to fetch it when he gets home

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 14:42

OOOOOOOooooo, don't let him have a look!!!!!!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 14:48

Don't worry - he's under strict instruction to take it straight up to the bedroom and leave it there Grin He knows what it is though. Just been looking at the pictures again - it really does look too good to be true, can't believe it's cost so little. Still don't know if it's 'me' though, I'm really not a 'floaty dress' kind of person, I live in trousers and jeans Grin But at that price if it's not right I'll just sell it on again unworn, I'm sure I won't lose out

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 14:51

Oh and btw, I think with shifts like that I think a wage of mmmmmmmmmm lets see.......

I think I should be able to afford to drive one of \link{http://cache.jalopnik.com/cars/images/techart_porsche.jpg\these} and live \link{http://www.constantiamanor.co.za/images/new_pool.jpg\here}. Wink

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 14:55

Oooohhhhh I could just jump in that pool.....I love swimming, every time I go I wonder why I don't go more often. Should have been a fish, me Grin

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 14:55

You could even make a profit!!!!

Try it on see how it feels, you are only a bride once so make the most of it!

DD and I have both given up on the idea of getting married but we would both love to just try on some wedding dresses to see how it feels. I've told her we should go into a wedding dress shop, tell them we are having a double wedding and then we can try on as many as we want, and of course we could take a camera and take loads of photo's, I think it would be great fun, what do you think? Grin

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 15:06

Sounds like a good idea to me Grin Bet you'd have lots of fun

The good thing about my dress is that because of the 'ribbon' type fastening on the back it will adjust by 2 dress sizes either side Grin Not as daft as I look....which is just as well LOL Grin

Going to need some very high heeled shoes to wear with it, I'm only 5 foot 2 so I'll be in serious danger of looking like a meringue if I wear low shoes Grin

How are your dd and the gkids doing? Is waste-of-space still around?

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 15:18

DD and the kids are fine thanks for asking, dd can't wait for me to finish work on friday (got a feeling I am going to be doing a lot of baby-sitting).

Lea is very nearly walking - she is one on the 20th of this month, it doesn't seem that long since she was born!

The waste of space is still on/off the scene, I wish that dd would just throw him out for good and find someone who would treat her much, much better.

DGS is excited about me being around more soon too. I will find some time to go to the Drs, promise (before you start to nag again Smile)

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 15:34

Grin I hadn't forgotten, and I shall be in full 'nag' mode next week Grin

Must be awful for you having to watch him treat your dd so badly Sad Really hope she sees sense one day. When I left my ex my family - eventually, not straight away - all said how glad they were and how frustrating it had been watching me waste my life on him

Do take it easy on the babysitting - you could end up doing more work than if you were 'at work' iyswim Grin

Squirrel3 · 01/06/2006 15:43

Don't I know it (the baby-sitting thing).

I may do a refresher maths course, I have realised over the course of a few interviews (and hidious maths tests), I have realised that my maths skills are rubbish and I should do something about it.

I may even do some volunteer work, as nice as it sounds I don't think I could just sit around watching day-time TV all day, it would drive me loopy.

Talking of which, where is Loopy? Where is Reflection? and Alligator, where have you disapeared to?

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 01/06/2006 15:59

Yes where are they all????

Know what you mean about not sitting around watching TV all day, don't think I could do it either. Having said that, if it was temporary I'm sure I'd cope Grin
