Heartfelt thanks to all from a Geordie and lifelong NUFC fan and lurker on this thread. This is our reward for decades of unfaltering support and thousands of hours sitting on freezing seats during midweek matches. My 80 year old Mum and I have been in tears remembering my Nanna and all the family who are long gone, wishing they could have seen this. I've been up and down the country at all hours over the years. This makes up for it all. All the heartache was worth it. So proud of wor lads tonight.

Well done to Newcastle!

Very happy with the Old Firm result today and gutted I couldn’t watch it.

I actually haven’t had the chance to watch any match today as I’ve been working in Dundee and now I’m relaxing with a drink before my bus home. Dundee pubs on the day there was a Dundee derby was maybe not my best idea ever though LOL.

JasonTindallsTan · 16/03/2025 19:49

WE FUCKING DID IT!!!! 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍

Also forgot to add I walked into this pub to hear two men on different sides of the room shouting “Shearer! Shearer!” at each other and I actually wondered what year I had walked into despite knowing the result. 🙈🤣

AndNobbyDancing · 16/03/2025 21:22

What a result, so pleased for Eddie Howe, so pleased for all the Newcastle Fans.

JasonTindallsTan · 17/03/2025 14:28

I’m still coming down to earth. What a day. Everyone all day just felt weirdly optimistic, we learned so much from the last time round, it wasn’t about the day out this time, it was another game, a big game but another game that we just had to turn up for and crack the fuck on. And we absolutely did. It was so satisfying to not just win, but win because we were the better team on the day.

I’m not ashamed to say that at the final whistle I didn’t really celebrate, I kind of just crumpled and cried a bit. I’ve been a Newcastle fan for over 30 years, from a family of non football fans, first managed to get into St James’ when I was 15 via a family friend who took me and what was at that point an interest became a huge passion that has at various points taken over my life 😂 but I’d never seen us win anything of any real merit. Until yesterday. And the emotion of it all just got to me. To be there in the stadium as we lifted a real trophy was all I’ve ever wanted as a Newcastle fan.

I feel like I need a tattoo to commemorate the occasion.

MaybeNotBob · 17/03/2025 18:15

Apparently, Trippier is the 65th player to leave Sp*rs since 2008, and won a trophy!

MrsMitford3 · 21/03/2025 20:39

So happy for Myles Lewis Skelly.
Youngest ever man to score on England debut.

The hate he has been getting online is just awful.

Feel like his proud Mum!!

DuncinToffee · 21/03/2025 21:33

Boring game though

Yes, really happy for him.

Is he still getting hate because of his celebration?

JasonTindallsTan · 21/03/2025 22:30

Dan Burn had a really solid debut too. He absolutely rattled the crossbar. Well done to MLS, a night for him to remember.

Tarkan · 22/03/2025 17:10

Two games in a row Arbroath have let in a last minute equaliser. Our two closest rivals are playing each other at 5.30 I think it is so we have to hope for a draw there too or the winner will be within a couple of points of us.

kiterunning · 24/03/2025 21:35

Three beautiful goals for England tonight against another team that didn’t come to play.

DuncinToffee · 24/03/2025 21:41

They said Latvia only just started training again and there is no competitve football at the moment

There are going to be plenty of games like this at the World Cup with 48 teams

Gareth Ainsworth has left Shrewsbury to join Gillingham as Manager. Beyond excited here Grin

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2025 15:04

Crystal Palace through to the FA semi final, beauty of a Eze goal.

Very very windy at Gayfield today. Already 1-0 up so 🤞🤞🤞

And another pie pic since the butcher that supplies them won a UK black pudding championship so I guess we have the best steak and black pudding pies for sure now LOL.

Tarkan · 29/03/2025 17:20

Well we had to dodge a good few misjudged balls as the wind was coming straight towards us and I spent the whole of the second half shivering as it’s 10° here with a “feels like” of 0°.

it was worth it though to see us win. Both Cove and Stenhousemuir have been the teams closest to us so the fact we beat Cove then Montrose did us a favour and beat Stenhousemuir so we are now 8 points clear at the top of the table. 😁

Cuwins · 29/03/2025 18:08

I rarely have football on the TV at home while my DD (3) is up but today I have Brighton v Forest on.
This has resulted in me trying to explain the game to DD which is quite challenging

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2025 18:11

Except for that camera being hit, not a lot going on that match to make it more excting for her Grin

Cuwins · 29/03/2025 18:13

@DuncinToffeewe aren’t getting past what the aim of the game is! 😂

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2025 18:41

Never a pen!

Good luck explaining that Cuwins

The Gareth Ainsworth era begins with a draw away to Harrogate. Really hope he is given plenty of time as the last 4 manager era's have been about 3 months long 😂

Cuwins · 29/03/2025 22:12

I had a feeling from the beginning we weren’t getting through this round. Shame it was on penalties and with the 2 youngsters missing.
Oh well, onto the race for Europe
