Fulham had a penalty almost identical to that disallowed at St James’ a couple of seasons ago, Mitrovic slipped and it was disallowed. I remember at the time everyone in the ground was over the moon but did feel it was pretty harsh.

The thing is, I've seen slow motion replays, and it's not clear that there actually is a double tap. At most it's been implied, and if it had been given I doubt anybody would have argued.

I read on HYS that the ball has a sensor apparently.

MrsMitford3 · 13/03/2025 17:03

I also read that the ball has a sensor.

I really feel for them and would be incandescent if it had happened to us (although not surprised!!)

He was obviously slipping and did not fall to gain an advantage-feels to me like the difference between deliberate and accidental handball and feels like a re-take would have been fair-er.

Edited to say I agree they really needed to want to give that-if they hadn't it wouldn't have even been mentioned.

Oblomov25 · 13/03/2025 20:30

Goal by Odobert!

Oblomov25 · 13/03/2025 21:12

Madders!

Oblomov25 · 13/03/2025 21:33

Oh no it's 2-2.

Oblomov25 · 13/03/2025 21:55

Phew.

Tarkan · 13/03/2025 22:41

I hate penalties when it’s my team. Need my heart meds. 🙈

LlynTegid · 14/03/2025 21:11

England squad. Jordan Henderson included. I know we should respect our elders, but even still.

JasonTindallsTan · 15/03/2025 09:06

I am so pleased for Dan Burn re England. He’s played out of his skin all season.

About to start the long drive to Wembley. HWTL.

DuncinToffee · 15/03/2025 10:33

Good luck @JasonTindallsTan !

I was pleased to see that too but surprised at his age. He seems to be a very nice man.

Oblomov25 · 15/03/2025 12:02

Jordan Henderson? Why?

MaybeNotBob · 15/03/2025 13:30

I guess it's "come on the Toon" then. Liverpool will be unbearable enough winning the league, and much as I dislike this current team, I think it would be good for the Newcastle fans to get some silverware after all this time.

Tarkan · 15/03/2025 15:48

Hello from a sunny Gayfield. 1-0 up at half time for us. Obligatory flash of the steak and black pudding pie as well.

Lovely sunny evening at Wembley!

Tarkan · 15/03/2025 17:19

Two points thrown away by Arbroath today. Squandered so many chances then a stupid mistake led to Dumbarton equalising.

I see West Ham did something similar with ending up with a 1-1 draw right at the end.

And the same happened to Hibs for DH. A frustrating day for results for us.

Thankfully for Arbroath, both Cove and Stenny also drew so we’re still 5 points clear.

DuncinToffee · 15/03/2025 17:31

We played shite but somehow still managed a draw and could have nicked it at the very end, our unbeaten run continues.

But had a penalty given against them.VAR and on-pitch review.

Oh dear, what was their reasoning? 😅

Brefugee · 15/03/2025 19:25

They hate Gladbach? Will watch the Sportschau to see if they can enlighten us.

DuncinToffee · 15/03/2025 19:37

We had a penalty appeal overturned by VAR and it was the right decision Shock

It’s a strange world when your disappointed with a point at the Etihad

MaybeNotBob · 16/03/2025 15:35

Relieved to get the win against Chelsea.

Some more "interesting" refereeing decisions, particularly from VAR...
