Do Scottish fans really not support England?

There’s always a running joke about Scottish fans wanting anyone but England to win and supporting which ever team England is playing against. I totally get the friendly rivalry but is it actually true that most Scottish fans want England to lose in the Euros final or do most want England to win deep down given Scotland is out?

If England aren’t playing I think most England fans would support Scotland or Wales as fellow Brits, especially in a Euro or World Cup final!

@Werweisswohin i was VERY aggressively given a lecture about Owain Glyndŵr by some Welsh fans while watching a match once. I (English) was in Portugal and was supporting Holland against Portugal. They decided to support Portugal purely because an English woman was supporting Holland (I was with my Dutch dp). I know that was the case because at the final whistle they Surrounded me to give me a lecture about English imperialism. Absolutely pathetic. And gives lie to the “we only have beef with the media” trope. That’s what, 750 years of hurt, taken out on one woman by 6 men. Nice.

That was undoubtedly a horrific experience which I wouldn't wish on anyone, but could you maybe look again at the title of this thread?

Scotland does indeed have it's share of nutters, but our fans have a well-earned reputation for good behaviour when following the national team abroad; I would hope and expect that they wouldn't behave in this way!

I’ve commented a lot about Scottish people not supporting England on this thread and others. I don’t think Welsh fans are any different. I just illustrated my point with a personal anecdote. I don’t know how they have the energy to be honest.
