Not necessarily the most spectacular but the most satisfying. Mine was when I was a teenager. I had a tingle in the philtrum above my lip that I could tell a zit was brewing in there. Outwardly there was no sign of it - the skin looked perfectly normal. It was the kind of vague unformed early zit pain that, nine times out of ten, if you squeezed it at that point all it would do would inflame the skin and make the eventual spot worse. Anyway on this occasion, despite knowing that, I squeezed the area anyway and instantly this perfect streak of pus leapt out of my skin and splattered across the bathroom mirror. And that was it done. No sign it had ever been there. No irritated skin. No residual soreness. Just a very polite zit that burst cleanly at the first prompting.

Around 25 years ago I had a large cyst on my left shoulder which was solid and the size of a half submerged golf ball. After a 10 hr flight to the us I noticed a funny cheesy smell on my bra strap but didn’t put two and two together until the return 10 hour flight which yielded more cheesy bra strap and a wet patch on my t shirt. After a shower I was trying to check it out in the mirror twisting and pulling the skin to get a better look when a hiss and a jet of white cyst juice sprayed right across the bathroom splatting satisfyingly across the shower screen. Such a marvellous surprise. Then followed weeks of joyous extraction, firstly a couple more wet jets then endless long festering white worms. Much to my delight it refills slightly and I can usually get a good go at it once a year.

God, there've been a few...

I had a horrendous ear infection that had left my ears blocked. Slowly, over the following week as I recovered, I managed to excavate a bit of the gunk that had built up using cotton buds, but was still pretty deaf. I was waiting for the bus and idly fiddling around in that ear with my very long little fingernail , which suddenly snagged on something in there - I carefully pulled, and what came out was a branch of black earwax, huge and thick and pointy in different places. It was incredible - it must have just settled into the shape of my ear canal. I still think of it fondly.

I had what I thought was a very stubborn blackhead on my back for years , I obviously couldn't get to it properly . Every so often my sister would squeeze it for me but barely got anything out, it felt like a squashed pea under my skin. Then one day I told her to stick a needle in it the needle went in about a centimetre and I couldn't feel a thing . The next day it was massive and it just kept getting bigger I touched it gently and loads of white gunk came out . Then my sister started squeezing it and I kid you not she squeezed it non stop for 20 minutes, stuff squirted out all over the place . I went to the dr the next day and turns out it was a cyst so he froze my back to cut the sac out . He never put any stitches in thou so instead of a lump I now have a hole 😂

Amazing thread!

I had a spot on the corner of my nose once, and it just wouldn't ever pop or go. It scabbed over and over so I gave up.
One day I was looking in the mirror and I was putting moisturiser on, and it exploded out and half way across my face. Immediate relief. Delightful.

I also had a spot on my groin as a teenager and was really embarrassed by it. Then one day I went to the toilet and a long string of puss popped out, and kept going and going and going. It was the best thing to watch.

Topoftheflops · 11/07/2024 21:36

I've had a few in growns come out like an alien birth. I'm that much of a minger I've laid them out on a piece of tissue, folded my arms proudly and congratulated myself, hell I've even been known to take a picture to show anyone who will look. This was years ago so I wouldn't the have evidence of said delightful sporns. Sigh.

Do you by any chance have a photo of it? It sounds fabulous. I think I'd have an orgasm if that happened to me😂

that is so cool @Chocolateporridge! Did you work out what it was made of? Actual body stuff — or like a bit of rubber tubing or something that got into your skin somehow? I remember a thread from a few years back where lots of people had experiences like gravel coming out of their knee decades after a bike accident, having been totally unaware it was there 🤯

ETA similar vibe to @CaptainCabinets’ post too

It was definitely something my body had made, it was so interesting! And I still remember the feeling of pulling it out of its hole 😍

gamarjoba · 11/07/2024 21:47

I also want to add that DP frequently has promising sporn on his body but he rarely lets me squeeze anything of note, saying I'm gross and obsessed. Sometimes he will placate me by saying I can do it later and then secretly does it himself. The latter drives me mad, not least because i am stupid enough to fall for his empty promises every time.

Only last week he had a spot that to the untrained sporner eye looked fairly innocuous, but being a seasoned sporn pro, I knew it'd be an absolute gem of a squeeze and so I was itching to get at it.

He came down after a shower and proudly showed me the tissue, which had a curled up thick blackhead on it. He also informed me that the warm-up to the blackhead emerging was a mirror hitting bit of pus.

I was seething.

Hmmm. I wonder if the lower pressure in the cabin had anything to do with the leaks starting on flights?🤔

Shodan · 11/07/2024 21:57

DP has fabulously oily, Mediterranean-type skin so frequently has delights for me to have a go at, but the best one was several years ago- a blackhead on his back that was getting bigger and bigger. It wouldn't squeeze though, and frankly he's a bit of a wimp, so had to content myself with scratching the surface for a few days.

The next time I got to have a proper go, it had covered over with a large white spot. I squeezed the spot, which erupted with pus- and then this humungous blackhead oozed out after it.

Best. Day. Ever.

I've turned him into a bit of a sporner now too- I had a hard lump on my shoulder blade that I got him to squeeze and because I'm not a wimp he could really go to town. He was chuffed with all the wiggly white worms that came out, and it delivered for days.

Terfaggedon · 11/07/2024 21:57

I get blepharitis. One or the other of my eyelids will get itchy, then start to swell. They take it in turns, recently it was right upper lid, a few months ago it was left lower. I have to use heat and massage to move the sebaceous gunk along, and eventually it builds to a head somewhere on the lash line. I swear to god these things have their own heartbeat they throb so much. If I can restrain myself and leave it a while, it will continue building up. When I know it's ready and eventually go for the pop by sort of folding up my eyelid, it is such instantaneous relief of the tension and pain. You won't believe the amount of pus that can come out of an eyelid!

If threads were age rated, this is an 18s. I love it.

PCRyanPilkington · 11/07/2024 22:02

@Sethera sadly no, it was many many years ago (tho I did photo what looked like a chunk of bloody flesh which I blew out of my nose after a very heavy headcold; but that's also been lost to time).

LargeSquareRock · 11/07/2024 22:08

I had an absolutely enormous breast abscess after my baby was born. I had it drained in day surgery while awake and I reckon half a litre of ous, blood and breastmilk came it. It was amazing! Sadly the abscess quickly refilled and I had to have surgery under GA to remove the sac. This fixed in entirely but as I had an open drain on my breast, for the next two weeks a mixture of pus and breastmilk would come out while I was breastfeeding.

A very satisfying end to the tale was years later I was friendly with a woman. Her husband was a surgeon and she said he went into surgery due to his love of pus (a true Sporner Hero). She said his most satisfying surgery ever was on a woman with just the most enormous breast absess. I went home and checked my surgery notes and it was him! I believe my breast abscess was the one that made him so happy,

I've got a nose one, must be 30 years ago. I suffered with a sinus infection, really painful giving me toothache as well. After a course of antibiotics I felt like I needed to give my nose a really good blow. The virulent green gunk that came out! Gross! Kept blowing and I swear I could feel it pulling away from the sinus cavity. Never had anything like it since thank goodness! 😂

theleafandnotthetree · 11/07/2024 22:14

You lot are weird but absolutely wonderful 😍

Amazingday · 11/07/2024 22:19

I have 2.

  1. large spot on my cheek. It was so large and red I could see it if looked down. It was sore but nothing came out with a normal squeeze. I was going on holiday and knew something was in there. Gave it a hard desperate squeeze and lots of stuff exploded over the mirror.
  2. random sore big toe that got worse and red and swollen over the day. So sore I could walk properly. I was at work and did have a look but couldn’t see a reason. When I got home inspected toe. Saw a massive white spot under my nail. Got a pin and popped it. So much green gunk and blood. It kept draining when I applied pressure to the nail. Kept going for 10 mins.

What an extraordinary story.

Gosh this thread has made for excellent reading.

These posts are glorious 😁
Mine is slightly different but I was astonished by it
I went into hospital as a day case for a cervical biopsy under general anaesthetic. I came round afterwards in terrible pain. As bad as labour. The nurse came to examine me and realised I had lost an unacceptable amount of blood. It was decided I needed to go back into surgery for more stitches and packing. Sent back to the ward packed and catheterised and an overnight stay. I think i was actually kept in for 2 nights. The Time came for the packing to be removed. I was in position, legs akimbo and the nurse started pulling the bandaging out of my doo-dah. She pulled and she pulled, and pulled and pulled and pulled. It seemed to go on forever. When she had finished there was a huge pile of bloodied bandaging on the bed. The pile must have been about 3 foot high!!
I know I've had a few kids but I had no idea how the hell all that bandaging had actually fitted up the old mine shaft. I was staggered!! 😅😅😅

theluckiest · 11/07/2024 22:42

Truly, you are my people.

I have two:

DH has a horrible skin infection. I forget what it was called but it took serious antibiotics to shift. He used to grow huge, painful buboes on his legs and arse.

The most spectacular was on his knee. It was like a golf ball. He poked it and it erupted. The blood and pus that spewed forth was unbelievable. We just stared as it kept coming. Was like someone squeezing a pizza dough ball.

The other was my chin. I got horribly lumps taht didn't come to anything. Just got red & angry then went. One hung around and came to a head so I thought I'd get it going. Massaged it a bit, hot compress then squeezed

Holy shit. This thing FIRED rounds at the mirror. I counted 8 (8!) little sacs from that one spot. It left quite the crater in my chin and I've still got a scar/ blemish from it 20 years later

Sleepersausage · 11/07/2024 22:43

I have a few I daydream about still.

One boil on the back of my ear lobe in my early 20s. I fiddled and poked it for a month and nothing happened, then one morning I checked in the mirror and it had a head. It absolutely exploded over the walls and mirror. Got a secondary pop a few days later. Never had anything like it since.

A cyst on my bikini line when I was pregnant. Couldn't see it so had to set up mirrors around the bed, gave one squeeze and it just oozed green crap down my leg. Never came back and didn't really explode so maybe it wasn't a cyst.

LoveRules · 11/07/2024 22:51

This is my favourite thread ever.

Once at work I mentioned to a mate that I'd had a lump behind my knee for over a decade. She told me that ooooo that will produce some lovely cottage cheese one day. She was right it did. I then had another similar lump behind my shoulder which every 5 years or so yield some delightful cheesey goodness.
