Not necessarily the most spectacular but the most satisfying. Mine was when I was a teenager. I had a tingle in the philtrum above my lip that I could tell a zit was brewing in there. Outwardly there was no sign of it - the skin looked perfectly normal. It was the kind of vague unformed early zit pain that, nine times out of ten, if you squeezed it at that point all it would do would inflame the skin and make the eventual spot worse. Anyway on this occasion, despite knowing that, I squeezed the area anyway and instantly this perfect streak of pus leapt out of my skin and splattered across the bathroom mirror. And that was it done. No sign it had ever been there. No irritated skin. No residual soreness. Just a very polite zit that burst cleanly at the first prompting.

This thread is incredible!

An armpit abscess
They told me it wasn't ready to drain, but I was going mad with the pain and decided to have a look when I got home
I lifted my arm and it burst into the sink, absolute rivers of gunk and it smelled awful
Didn't heal and I had stitches. Then it came back...
I ended up having it drained and then plastic surgery to close the hole (posted pics on here before)

When I was 13 I discovered a massive hard painful spot inside my ear, I hadn't noticed it but when I touched it the pain was instant because it was quite sizeable. I used both index fingers to squeeze the sides and then it suddenly burst with a crack sound and a horrific amount of pus erupted down my finger. Then it bled like mad. I've never forgotten the deep relief and satisfaction of that moment and the sound it made inside my ear. Magic.

Delightedly reading all these.

I had amazing one a year or so ago. It was one of those spots behind the ear, pretty much on the join with my head. It grew and grew and I was desperate to squeeze it .it hurt quite a bit as I was lying on it as well. Nothing happened, couldn't find a head.
One morning I was just idly giving it a little squeeze, tiny bit of pressure, then I heard an almighty squeaky noise and felt liquid. Looked at my finger and there was a massive blob of luminous green gunk, it was like glowing, like something out of Ghostbusters. It was like the colour of a high Vis vest! And no smell. So satisfying I practically screamed with joy!
Totally went flat, left a tiny hole and was never seen again. Part of me wishes it would come back!!!

Hoppinggreen · 11/07/2024 10:58

I had a horse that got a nail in her hoof.
Called Vet, antibiotics etc but a few days later noticed a swelling so did bran poulices for a few days and then as I was changing the poultice the swelling exploded, there was about a large mug full of green pus followed by the same again of bloody pus. My poor horse gave a huge sigh of relief and it never filled up again and she was fine

Sethera · 11/07/2024 11:05

Not so much a moment but about an hour. I had a huge boil on my back in an awkward but just about reachable place - I tried for ages to get it to burst but no joy, eventually had to get antibiotics for it.

About a week into the antibiotics I felt a slight leak from it when I was going to bed. I lay on my front and squeezed it and so much pus gushed out of it, I was happily squeezing it for over an hour and soaked half a box of tissues wiping up the rivers of gunk that cascaded down my back. Every time I thought it was empty, more seemed to gush out, it really was the gift that kept on giving,

When it finally emptied I was left very interesting hole where it had been.

OrlandointheWilderness · 11/07/2024 11:06

God I needed this thread this morning.

My DP is the gift that keeps on giving. He had a massive blackhead On his back, thought it was little but oh my god, it just kept coming. Was a hard, solid lump of pus nearly 1/4 of my thumbnail.

Then he got another on on his thig that was similar, and a couple on his back. And one glorious one on his chest.

I love him. 😂

spiderlight · 11/07/2024 11:08

My favourite was the sudden random appearance one morning of a huge fluid-filled blister on the sole of my foot. I have no idea what had caused it, but it was about three inches across, filling the whole of the instep area, and absolutely rock hard. There was no way I could walk on it, so I figured I'd have to burst it. The only thing to hand was a set of nail scissors with very sharp ends. I literally just touched it with the tip of one of the blades and it borsed with an audible pop, water absolutely poured out, and it completely deflated. It was amazing.

Second best was my son's verucca. I'd been treating and filing it religiously every day, and one day I took off the plaster and the entire thing came out with it, leaving the most perfect smooth conical hole in his foot. It was a thing of beauty, although he was less impressed than I was!

HermioneWeasley · 11/07/2024 11:08

Boil by my ear. Huge - like a second nose. Answered my desk phone and pressed the handset against it without thinking and it burst. I had to make my excuses and head to the ladies. it wasn’t just gushing, it was pumping out, like it was an artery spraying yellow pus all around it. Took over an hour to sort out and get presentable.

this was nearly 30 years ago and nothing has compared since.

Anonym00se · 11/07/2024 11:13

Not exactly satisfying, but DM had a huge abscess on her back (2 or 3 inches in diameter). She’d been given a couple of courses of antibiotics but it didn’t go down. As I had always been the family ‘squeezer’ she ask me to have a go at it. I barely applied any pressure at all and it exploded everywhere. I had vile cheesy smelling pus all over my face, in my mouth, dripping off my eyelids. It was everywhere, all over the wall, all over the curtains. It looked like gallons of the stuff. It smelt absolutely disgusting. It cured me of squeezing compulsion and I’ve never been tempted to squeeze anything since. 🤢

littlemonster34 · 11/07/2024 11:15

My first ever tonsil stone was pretty special.

CaptainCabinets · 11/07/2024 11:16

Oooh my best ever sporner moment was when DP and I were on the sofa, he had his legs up and I noticed a greyish dot on his shin, of course I asked him if I could have a poke at it Grin nothing happened when I squeezed it, so I went at it with a needle and heard it scrape against something hard so had a bit more of a dig and brought it closer to the surface. Got the tweezers and extracted a ONE CENTIMETRE piece of wire. Looked like a segment of a paperclip, god knows how long it had been in there but it was absolutely glorious.

shiningcuckoo · 11/07/2024 13:39

When my daughter was about 12 she'd get glorious spots. I had my eye on one growing on the corner of her forehead. Large and yellow. I asked to squeeze it and she said which one. There was another on the other side, like a pair of amazing horns. They both popped with an audible crack and an explosion of white. I think about the horns often.

protectoroftherealm · 11/07/2024 14:08

About 10 years ago I got a spot on the edge of my bottom lip. It was sore and nothing came out after numerous attempts. Anyway, one day I took my car seatbelt and let it go too fast and the metal bit whacked my lip right where this spot was, within seconds it was the size of a malteser, that night in the bath I soaked a flannel in hot water and held it against it then, in the mirror I squeezed! Well, my spot shrieked. And I mean it high-pitched shrieked as a tonne of pus shot out like a missile! It was immense and I still have a little crater where it used to be!

allaboardtheplaybus · 11/07/2024 14:41

I had a sinus infection that irritated the life out of me for over a week. No matter how often I blew my nose it didn't seem to help. The one day I held one nostril closed and gave a massive blow. This lump of semi solid grey jelly like matter came flying out of the other nostril, it was about the size of a mini egg. That was it, totally unblocked and back to normal.

theleafandnotthetree · 11/07/2024 14:50

This thread is wonderful and I get such a kick out of how many of you think back on these occasions as treasured memories, sometimes decades afterwards.

Tarkan · 11/07/2024 15:05

A few years ago DH had what looked like a dilated pore of Winer on his back and he wouldn't let me look at it properly. It ended up becoming a large abscess so he was given antibiotics but also the nurse told him exactly how to treat it which is what I had been telling him all along so I finally got my wish.

For weeks and weeks I got to change the dressing (a couple of times a day), give it a careful squeeze for all the pus build up, then clean it up and get some mag sulph on it before putting a new dressing on. I've never had so much fun. I did take photos to show him how it was looking each day but he banned me from ever putting them in here as he knew I would have shared my joy with you all.

He still has a dimple on his back now from where it was but he's not had anything else like it since then.

Chocolateporridge · 11/07/2024 20:19

When I was a teenager I had, what I thought was, a scab on my leg. I scratched it and it lifted up but there was something attached underneath it. When I lifted the scab off it pulled out a hollow tube behind it, it was like a piece of cooked macaroni! I have absolutely no idea to this day what that was. There was no pus, no smell, just a hole where the "macaroni" had been, which healed up neatly and was never seen again! I still think wishfully about it and hope it'll happen again some day 😂

Oblomov24 · 11/07/2024 20:41

Loving all this! Grin

CavalierApproach · 11/07/2024 20:43

that is so cool @Chocolateporridge! Did you work out what it was made of? Actual body stuff — or like a bit of rubber tubing or something that got into your skin somehow? I remember a thread from a few years back where lots of people had experiences like gravel coming out of their knee decades after a bike accident, having been totally unaware it was there 🤯

ETA similar vibe to @CaptainCabinets’ post too

The ingrown hair on my bikini line which was about six inches long was something special, but the best one was when I was about 17. It was lovely and embarrassing all at the same time. I had what felt like a marble sized lump behind my ear. It would feel like it was yielding a bit when squeezed, but nothing would come out. This went on for ages and it didn't even occur to me to go to the doctor about it as apart from the size, it wasn't sore or anything. One day I was sitting in the sixth form common room idly fiddling with it and suddenly felt a really loud crack and then instantly my hair was wet. Mortified, I ran to the toilet - hair and hand covered in pus and blood - and then spent some time excavating the contents which were a mixture of brown/yellow liquid pus and cheesy goop. The satisfaction was immense. As I had to also try to clean myself up a bit (and get rid of the smell - it was grim) I was there a while and so my best friend came in to see if I was okay - she was a mixture of awestruck and utterly grossed out when I showed her the tissue I'd been using to wipe away the copious amounts of ming.

On return to the common room I pretended to the rest of the group that I had had a nose bleed to save the embarrassment. Later that night had another go and to my excitement it had refilled a bit, but didn't give quite as much as earlier on in the day.

Twenty years later and I still think of it.

My eldest son had a blackhead in his ear canal. I just couldn't get it. Then one day I looked over at him and spotted that it was half hanging out. So I flicked it with my little finger nail and it came out in 1. Perfect.

Same child also had a blackhead on the back of his earlobe. Well two actually, i squeezed it one day and it was a double ender! It regularly fills up and I empty it for him. The gift that keeps giving after 20 years.

AnnaMagnani · 11/07/2024 21:05

DH had an infected sebaceous cyst on his back.

Saw a surgeon to get it removed and the surgeon let me assist. Was amazing.

DH not so excited as I was, funnily enough.
