I'm in utter agony.. Please help me identify what this is..

Small lump started about a week ago, each day goes by it progresses.. Today its red raw where my thighs have rubbed together the skin has broken down. I've lathered it magnesium sulphate and hot compress... I can see a very tiny head coming up.
My god the agony is unreal.. Also don't feel myself at all. Not feverish or anything. Just feel really terrible.
What is this? Boil? Abscess??

The white stuff is magnesium sulphate BTW

I'm not at a&e yet.. Taken the first lot of these new antibiotics and it's utterly throbbing, feels like it's really coming up.. Don't know if its going to explode of its own volition. I've provisionally asked my friend to look after my daughter tomorrow in the event I have to go to a&e... I think I will go tomorrow, I just want the relief of it being drained. Currently in bed with a hot water bottle on it.

Needs to moist heat so a hot compress or sit in a salty bath. You need to be doing these things multiple times a day along with antibiotics to get rid of it- although I agree with the pp,that thing would be gone if I had it!

The concept of driving an infection further in if you stick a needle in an abscess. The infection is already in the system, hence the fact that antibiotics help - you can't force it further in. It comes to a head on the surface precisely because nature intends that it should be given a release that way. In the wild, for instance, animals would naturally scratch or rub such areas, or would knock the heads off when going through undergrowth.

Currently sat in the ED of the hospital of which I work. Depressing is not the word. Hoping they will lance it, not letting them fob me off with more antibiotics.

Waited 5 hours.. Was seen by two really lovely nurses.. I just burst into tears as soon as I got seen to. She stuck a needle in it and make lots of little cavities and some blood came out, but she's put a sterile dressing on it that apparently sucks all the crap out. Feeling horrendous and not sure how I'm going to actually walk tomorrow.

Update.
The beast has erupted in spectacular fashion!!!
I took an ibuprofen and my last antibiotic for the evening, was bathing DD and stood up and Mount etna erupted!!! Felt liquid all down my leg. Its just blood, pure blood. No pus or anything. The relief is UNREAL. I literally could cry with delight.

I think so. The nurse who saw me said if I had left it any longer the pus would've come up more. Its just pure blood. I feel like a new woman 😂
