Yep, that was July. A boil went wrong and despite antibs grew until it was drained (twice) by a delightedly horrified medic. Cellulitis etc.

IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. Same place, inner thigh. Same yelping pain. Has big blood blister head. What can I do? Doc gave more antibs and not interested but it's growing and growing.

Can I burst it myself?

Fgs, go to A&E. I nearly lost a friend to sepsis v recently. She felt woozy, couldn't get warm, had it not been for her housemate putting her in a taxi to A&E she would have died, yes died, because her organs
were closing down. They had to get the family over and give her the last rites etc. she too was doing oh I'll be fine really.

FannyFifer · 07/09/2016 14:34

How's things?

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 07/09/2016 18:19

Any news OP?

LanaorAna1 · 07/09/2016 19:36

I am back with Derek ! I had to give a tour of our charity to a VVVIP today. She was adorable. Anyway, thank God I didn't go to A&E. Derek vomited in the night and we both feel much better.

I did the Tour, limping somewhat, and covered in expensive scent in case Derek stank the place out. Then bolted to the doc to make her have a look at Derek. She checked and she said He's fine, keep taking the pills. He'll erupt again in a couple of days but you're all right now. Phew.

I am now on sick leave and self & Derek on sofa, waving gaily at all our lovely MN friends. Thanks so much for keeping me going.

I can't get the pix of my crotch off the work phone tho :)

I called my one of these Sinbad. I remember Sinbad fondly.
Glad Derek has seen a doctor and he's behaving himself. Also v glad you managed your VVVVVIP thing without spattering anyone with Derek-juice

I had a breast abscess back in 2009. It developed after trying (and failing) to breast feed, tried antibiotics & it didn't work so had to have it drained twice at hospital, obviously that didn't work because I eoke one night to a wet right breast, initially thought I was leaking milk til I noticed the pus leaking out, the actual abscess was quite deep in my breast but it rotted/decayed my skin & made a hole. The smell was like when your rubbish bin outside is full, the foods all gone off & maggots/flies are all over it on a sweltering day. Had to go under general anasthetic, the abscess was completely drained & then packed every day for about 8 weeks, like PopsicleBopsicle which was fucking agony!!! In short, the wound was left open and had to be stuffed full with sterile gauze on a daily basis. I've got a scar where my boob popped and one from the operation Shock

Bigfam · 07/09/2016 19:56

like PopsicleBopsicle* mentioned

TheChippendenSpook · 07/09/2016 22:09

I had one but it was under my armpit. It had to be taken away during a general anesthetic but it was all in a short space of time so it never had a name!

The daily packing was awful!! I can still feel the agony, on dark nights when the air is still !

peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/09/2016 22:45

Glad you've seen the doctor and you're feeling better. We do need a photo, though.

Capricornandproud · 13/09/2016 22:08

Glad to hear you and Derek are still with us OP! It all sounds sensational; life is so unfair. Just back from a scorching sweaty holiday so no spots of any kind left in this house 😢

LuluJakey1 · 14/09/2016 21:33

I had a hideous one deep in my perineum. Had to be operated on twice and packed for 4 months before it healed fully. Was awful. Nurses and medics came to have a look when I was taken in, it was so big!

SuperDinoCharge · 16/09/2016 13:15

Just remembered this thread! How's it going? Has it healed now?

LanaorAna1 · 16/09/2016 18:01

Yes it has, thank you for asking. But there's still a bit of a pang in the nub which may not bode well for the future. For now, everything in the ladygarden is rosy.

SuperDinoCharge · 16/09/2016 22:07

That's good news. Hope it doesn't cause anymore trouble!

RubbishMantra · 08/10/2016 04:07

Oh no Lana! You poor love.

I would ask for a second opinion, a wound should heal from the inside outwards. Surely they are at least packing the wound for you and tried you on different ABs? Especially as you are still experiencing pain?

You will feel like crap for a while after 2 such infections, immune system going into overload and all that.
