6 oz of pus out of my leg

Yep, that was July. A boil went wrong and despite antibs grew until it was drained (twice) by a delightedly horrified medic. Cellulitis etc.

IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. Same place, inner thigh. Same yelping pain. Has big blood blister head. What can I do? Doc gave more antibs and not interested but it's growing and growing.

Can I burst it myself?

If it's growing rapidly I think you need to be seen. Is St George's your local A&E? If so, there's a walk in centre there... but they might end up sending you to A&E anyway!

I had a boil in a similar area and eventually had to have Rifampicin to clear it up ,after trying several other ABs , definitely worth going back to GP.

God I do love a good abscess got to squeeze a really huge one some months ago because it had already burst.

You need to go back to Dr and probably have it drained again and some IV abs. Trouble with abscesses they can have a tendency to return.

Did they weigh the pus???

Dolores O yes. I remember my cat having a fantastic one on his head...my lodger went out early one morning and said she had had squeeze...I was not best pleased...

Docs, I'm afraid to say. As much as I enjoy this sort of stuff, it can make you really unwell.

I once had an ingrown infected hair right at the worst possible point- where thigh meets groin/buttock, right on the knicker elastic line.

The smell is past belief - rotten meat with rancid blue cheese. Lots of bits of blood and flesh in a grey-green soup streaked red. Quite big bits, actually. Trousers currently being nuked on hot wash.

On ABs since sat. Can I put the mag paste on to help it on its way?
