Whether it’s a Christmas classic or a recently released blockbuster, we want to know what films you’ll be watching at home with the family this winter.

  • Post your film choices in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice

Here’s what FindAnyFilm has to say:

“With so much out there to choose from these days, it can be tough to decide what to cuddle-up and download on a cold December night when the kids are finally in bed, or what DVD to add to the big-shop for your next family film night. The latest research shows that personal recommendations are the reason 83% of people give for picking their next film or TV show to buy or rent, which is why Mumsnet is the perfect place to help you choose what to watch from now until Christmas!”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Raymond Brigg's 'The Bear'. From the makers of The Snowman, but I think this story is lovelier and really enjoyable to watch.

CordeliaScott · 01/12/2021 19:33

Big red dog

Tiredforfive45 · 02/12/2021 07:13

The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.

I loved it as a kid and I’m going to introduce 7yo DD to it this year!

Dillidalli · 02/12/2021 07:24

Die Hard, such an underrated Christmas film. Also, for my something new, Christmas Chronicles.

Aubasaurus · 02/12/2021 11:32

Another vote for the Nightmare Before Christmas!

GeorgiaGirl52 · 02/12/2021 16:26

Home Alone is an absolute favourite! It never fails to get lots of laughs from all the family!

hels71 · 02/12/2021 21:59

The Muppets Christmas Carol
We are also planning on going with o see West Side Story

Passmealargewine · 03/12/2021 05:53

Robin Robin looks good to try with my 4 year old. But for me it has to be elf or the Grinshill. And usually one of the cheesy netflix ones while I'm wrapping presents

tearsforfears72 · 03/12/2021 13:46

Miracle on 34th Street and the Muppets’ Christmas Carol are our family favourites. Also love The Grinch!

Mrsbrownsbuoys · 03/12/2021 15:36

We watch Home Alone, Elf, Deck the Halls, Christmas with the Kranks and It's a Wonderful Life every Christmas GrinXmas Grin

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 03/12/2021 19:35

Home Alone 1 and 2 are difficult to beat. With my teens Krampus is a good one too. I'm going to watch Shrek The Halls with my Cub Scouts for our little Christmas party, perfect length for a little festive cheer. Plus the Pigs on Blankets gets me every time.

NameChange2PostThis · 03/12/2021 20:05

Die Hard, Elf, Frozen 2, and a James Bond marathon

keeptalkinghappytalk · 03/12/2021 22:12

Looking forward to Meet Me in St Louis and Holiday Inn as timeless classics. Recently Klaus has impressed us.
