Whether it’s a Christmas classic or a recently released blockbuster, we want to know what films you’ll be watching at home with the family this winter.

  • Post your film choices in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice

Here’s what FindAnyFilm has to say:

“With so much out there to choose from these days, it can be tough to decide what to cuddle-up and download on a cold December night when the kids are finally in bed, or what DVD to add to the big-shop for your next family film night. The latest research shows that personal recommendations are the reason 83% of people give for picking their next film or TV show to buy or rent, which is why Mumsnet is the perfect place to help you choose what to watch from now until Christmas!”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

The Snowman!

Donsav · 24/11/2021 21:55

There's so many to choose from! my sons age 7 and 4 love Home Alone, the latest one is actually quite funny. The Christmas Chronicles is another favourite. I love Elf as it's magical. Definitely the Snowman and Stickman, which are great for little ones and big ones alike.

We have a bit if a speed of ages, so my plan is for us all to do our traditional Mary Poppins & Sound of Music. Then we’ll pick from The Santa Claus, Elf, Jingle All the Way, The Grinch (although I’m not a fan), Mr Bean’s Christmas and maybe Home Alone. With the youngest in bed, we might do The Office Christmas Party with the teens and the new Bond movie if it’s cheaper. Then afte they’ve all gone to bed, DH and I have a tradition of watching Love Actually. If I get a quiet evening to myself, I’ll rewatch The Holiday for the tenth time. We all love a good film, snuggled under cosy blankets with Christmassy snacks!

DD and I love the Nativity films so we’ll be starting those soon, one every Sunday afternoon until Christmas

tintodeverano2 · 25/11/2021 07:45

White Christmas- absolutely love this film.

AmyJ13 · 25/11/2021 08:15

As soon as the decs are up, I look forward to watching Elf and The Santa Clause. On Christmas Eve, we watch The Snowman - it’s a classic and not too long meaning there is plenty of time for the other traditions and a good sofa and movie watching snuggle.

yorkshiremum2022 · 25/11/2021 11:37

Polar Express - I hadn't watched it before I met my partner so I am looking forward to watching it this year knowing we have our baby on the way and then next year with our baby Blush

I want to take my daughter to Encanto at the cinema and at home watch all the Christmas classics with her. I'm personally wanting to watch Love Actually etc for the millionth time as usual.

HaroldSteptoesHorse · 25/11/2021 17:32

It’s a wonderful life.. nothing like a down on your luck film to get you in the Xmas spirit. James Stewart has the best voice

Glogirl1 · 25/11/2021 17:54
