Whether it’s a Christmas classic or a recently released blockbuster, we want to know what films you’ll be watching at home with the family this winter.

  • Post your film choices in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice

Here’s what FindAnyFilm has to say:

“With so much out there to choose from these days, it can be tough to decide what to cuddle-up and download on a cold December night when the kids are finally in bed, or what DVD to add to the big-shop for your next family film night. The latest research shows that personal recommendations are the reason 83% of people give for picking their next film or TV show to buy or rent, which is why Mumsnet is the perfect place to help you choose what to watch from now until Christmas!”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

My DH and all our children watch the entire series of Harry Potter films in the run up to Christmas with steaming mugs of hot chocolate and shortbread. It's a magical time of year. It hardly matters that my wee children are 35,33,28 and 24 and we all watch them in our own houses......on the same day......at the same time!

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 26/11/2021 23:26

I can't wait to show my girls Home Alone!

sunshinesky · 27/11/2021 07:36

We watch Elf and the Nativity films every year - I love Christmas and it's an important part of the traditions! 🎅🏻🎄🎬🍿

I would have liked to say Arthur Christmas as my husband is called Arthur - but no. The Polar Express always watch, and most of all The Snowman which I tape every year as had lost this as had new Sky box when we changed over to the Q box + added Netflix completely lost all of my old lovely films/concerts etc. Reminds us of when our son was young and it was his favourite when the snowmen dance in a ring, such a wonderful production for any age, child or adult.

A Boy Called Christmas
Love Actually
A Muppets Christmas Carol

buckley1983 · 27/11/2021 18:45

I absolutely love snuggling up as a family & watching A Muppet Christmas Carol - it's a classic & has aged beautifully! I remember going to see it at the cinema with my Mum when I was wee, & it's just as magical for me now as it was then!
In the non-festive related category - I'm excited to watch Jungle Cruise - it looks fab! x

DottieP89 · 27/11/2021 21:16

Jack Frost. My absolute favourite Christmas film but it makes me cry every time! Blush

Capricornqueen86 · 27/11/2021 21:37

The kids and I love the Home Alone movies, the first and second ones.

UnicyclingBabies · 27/11/2021 21:45

We're hoping to catch up on the Paddington films again. So lovely!

RightOnTheEdge · 27/11/2021 21:54

We've just watched Elf which my dd insisted on.
A new one I'm looking forward to seeing is A Boy Called Christmas because we all loved the book 🎄 🎅 Smile

PashleyB · 27/11/2021 22:17

I'm looking forward to watching the Muppets Christmas Carol, and not seasonal but I like Moana too!

HandlebarLadyTash · 27/11/2021 22:24

The christmas holidays will start with Gremlins, followed by Home Alone

Gazelda · 27/11/2021 22:52

Home Alone is our Christmas tradition.

RedSquirrelsAreAwesome · 28/11/2021 00:43

Home alone. Looking forward to when my baby is old enough to watch it with me!

Andoffwego · 28/11/2021 07:47

Santa Claus the Movie because it reminds me of Christmases when I was a child (I saw it at the cinema with my parents and my brother when I was 7 and it was magical). I now force DS to watch it with me every year. Grin

goingpearshaped · 28/11/2021 08:03

Elf, the best ever!

m0jit0 · 28/11/2021 08:50

Polar express it's a Christmas tradition we've been doing with my little brother, he's 19 now and still comes round and watches it with my girls and my nephews.

triflinpud · 28/11/2021 12:33

With the DCs, they want to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. DH and I are waiting for Don’t Look Up.

EsmeeMerlin · 28/11/2021 14:49
