This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thanks to everyone who shared their memories on the thread below.

The way we capture memories has changed a lot over the years and the prevalence of smartphones in our modern world now means that almost everyone has a camera at their fingertips. Whether it was an unexpectedly special moment or a day you knew you would always remember for the right or wrong reasons, Fujifilm would like to hear about your treasured memories as a child, adult, or parent and how you have captured those moments to be able to remember them.

Here’s what Fujifilm has to say: “We all have those special memories that we like to think back on from time to time, whether that be from your own childhood, in your adult life, or as part of parenthood. There are so many key moments throughout life, and there's so many different ways to capture them - whether that be a keepsake, or on video, on a digital, disposable or instant camera, or just snapshots on your smartphone. At Fujifilm, we want to empower you to bring your stories to life, to tell it your way, and add new chapters as it evolves.

Everybody has a unique story to tell about their most treasured memories, and we would love to hear how you've captured yours. We’re also offering Mumsnet users 20% off all photobooks, photo gifts and wall art! Just use the code FUJIMUMS20 at www.myfujifilm.co.uk.”

What is your most treasured memory? Were you able to capture that moment on film or in a photo? How do you display your photos within your home? Perhaps you have a dedicated photo wall for everyone to see or a dusty stack of family albums to look through when you’re feeling nostalgic? Is the camera roll on your phone full to the brim with photos that you haven’t yet had the opportunity to print, but would love to be able to show off?

All who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I have a picture of my mum as a child. It sits in a frame on the window sill in the kitchen and means that even though she no longer with me, she is a part of the life of my family, and all of the bustle and mess and noise that entails!

Photos are so important to capture the fun and relaxed relationships of the mundane. My favourite photos are not the posed studio ones but the snatched chuckles, tickles and tumbles that punctuate family life.

My most treasured memories are of my son speaking as a 4 or 5 year old. You forget what they used to sound like after they have grown up, and their voices are so cute when you hear them again on film. They are on my hard drive and God forbid anything should go wrong with my computer as there are a lot of memories on there!

SuzCG · 21/04/2021 16:17

Our funniest photos are the ones we 're-created' of us holding our 'babies' on their 10th birthdays - taken at the exact time they were born - all those years before!

jacqui5366 · 21/04/2021 16:29

My treasured memories are 1st birthday, EVERY Christmas Day, holidays on the beach with smiles and being carefree, and the 'first day at school' against the door - same picture every year so we can see growth and changes.
I have the most recent school photo of each of my DS in my purse.
I also have many 1000 on the cloud !

Treasured memories are always holidays and special occasions. Love taking photos and creating photo books. Perfect for getting out and looking through, which you don't do with photos on a computer so much.

The cuties in this photo are my sons Connor and Callum, at a 999 day held some years ago. Connor is now 18 and Callum sadly passed away aged 8 in 2014. Photos like this happy memory help me daily with my sadness x

Mine is the first photo of my husband and son, just after he was born via c-section. The way my husband looks at him in awe is just so lovely, whilst he is screaming his head off and poos down his arm seconds later! I was so out of it during the actual process that it is lovely to have a record of this more positive aspect of the experience.

Our wedding day in Bali, shared with 26 of our friends and family. Amazing day and truly spoilt. From the wedding in the gardens, Balinese band playing whilst we had 3 course meal, catamaran in the evening watching the sunset and another 3 course meal. We had professional pictures and guest pictures which we cherish. Each year we do a holidays albums, love reliving the memories

I take the majority of photos on my phone but then print and transfer to separate photo albums for each one of my kiddies

Knightl · 21/04/2021 21:28

We take loads of photos as a family, and each year I order prints of the best ones - usually there are hundreds! I then go through them and put the best ones in a big family album, sticking them in collage style with little descriptions and comments. The rest I put in large slip in albums. Collecting those memories is a hobby really, I love doing it.

PaulSavage · 21/04/2021 21:30

Great competition, good luck everyone.

My most precious memorable memories captured via photographs has to be of my late dad who sadly passed away when I was just 12 after we'd been looking for him for years. Unfortunately I was just a year too late in finding him. So every photo of him is so, so precious to me and I shall cherish them always x

ClaraSais · 21/04/2021 22:10

Definitely of my daughter cuddling daddy when she was just born ❤️

Starbar22 · 21/04/2021 23:01

I have 2 beautiful photos of both my Mum's little dog, Star, and my Malamute, Nakoma, who I had to have put to sleep in September, 2020. I had these put side by side and put on a canvas and gave it to my Mum as a gift which she has on her bedroom wall and would love to create another for myself.

VividImagination · 21/04/2021 23:21

I have photographs of my maternal great grandparents going back to the 1890’s. It’s amazing to see the likeness going down through the generations. I have some in frames and some in albums. I believe there were more photos that were lost during the Second World War.
