This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thanks to everyone who shared their memories on the thread below.

The way we capture memories has changed a lot over the years and the prevalence of smartphones in our modern world now means that almost everyone has a camera at their fingertips. Whether it was an unexpectedly special moment or a day you knew you would always remember for the right or wrong reasons, Fujifilm would like to hear about your treasured memories as a child, adult, or parent and how you have captured those moments to be able to remember them.

Here’s what Fujifilm has to say: “We all have those special memories that we like to think back on from time to time, whether that be from your own childhood, in your adult life, or as part of parenthood. There are so many key moments throughout life, and there's so many different ways to capture them - whether that be a keepsake, or on video, on a digital, disposable or instant camera, or just snapshots on your smartphone. At Fujifilm, we want to empower you to bring your stories to life, to tell it your way, and add new chapters as it evolves.

Everybody has a unique story to tell about their most treasured memories, and we would love to hear how you've captured yours. We’re also offering Mumsnet users 20% off all photobooks, photo gifts and wall art! Just use the code FUJIMUMS20 at www.myfujifilm.co.uk.”

What is your most treasured memory? Were you able to capture that moment on film or in a photo? How do you display your photos within your home? Perhaps you have a dedicated photo wall for everyone to see or a dusty stack of family albums to look through when you’re feeling nostalgic? Is the camera roll on your phone full to the brim with photos that you haven’t yet had the opportunity to print, but would love to be able to show off?

All who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I know alot of people have said their kids and that's also true, but I'm going to be different and say the other way: for me some of my most treasured memories are with my parents. My parents are some of the most down to earth people and I'm so blessed. I have several family photos and I love looking at them.

littleny · 18/04/2021 17:14

Printed photographs mean a lot to me. I am worried though as it's now so easy to take pictures on a smartphone (I have over a thousand) and I find I take loads of the same thing with the intention to sort through them later. I then run out of time and when I do remember, it's a nightmare trying to work out how to get them onto my computer!!! I think I will have to invest in a Polaroid!! In a way, I think physical photos are losing their value as it's so easy to have them all on your phone! My son (11 years old) always looks through my mum's photo albums (she is super-organised) so I really should catch up with mine!

I have numerous Photo Books, and canvases from small to almost life size on my walls, which are a constant reminder (as though one were needed!) of my beloved late husband. I also have a lithophane photograph of him with one of our dogs, which is a treasure. I've got loads of framed photo's of our myriad animals also displayed on the walls.

alohavic70 · 18/04/2021 19:53

I have photobooks of both my children's first year. Life passed by in such a blur then, so it's good to have them to look back on!

@sheilads105

We have taken (and printed and framed) photos of our kids every christmas eve since they were born. They adorn our kitchen wall and the memories of those younger babes is there everyday for us to see.
This is one of the most beautiful things I read so far...I'm also planning to do this. Reading this post made me realize it is extremely important to do it, in order to always remember the sublime moments...

I use the app 1se to capture video moments and splice them together into a longer video of memories from the year. I like the way you can mix quite prosaic things with more meaningful ones and it makes up a realistic picture of our lives.

CatNamedEaster · 19/04/2021 10:41

Our wedding day. For me the best part was seeing everyone that we love together having a brilliant time. We have two albums, one from our photographer and the other from printouts from all the dvd's and memory sticks that friends sent afterwards. That's the really precious album, capturing so many funny, unstyled and casual moments that a conspicuous photographer would never have got.

IWasThere4Aug12 · 19/04/2021 11:29

I use a digital photo frame-great for variety. Keep meaning to frame more pictures to put around the house but haven’t got round to it yet

grandajimmy · 19/04/2021 12:04

My camera comes with me every where it's my little memory box & I absolutely love taking fun & happy pictures of my mischievous grandsons! always seem to capture something hilarious like these ones {smile] So many memories over the years to treasure that are put into albums but would love to display some on canvas!

Having a physical photo to hold and look at is just the best, I love photos of holidays, smiles, weddings and celebrations - always bring a smile to your face - something a photo on a phone can never achieve.

mrsdeedow · 19/04/2021 12:38

For our wedding, we placed disposable cameras on every table. This was 13 years ago today. The fun was in developing the images and seeing what people saw as important. There was a surprise in every image.

cinderellao9 · 19/04/2021 13:17

my children are 12, 23 and 28, so I have a mixture 110, 35mm and digital photos, I print some new ones off and mix them with older photos in a frame next to my bed and I see the faces of my favourite people as soon as I wake up!

Suzic2005 · 19/04/2021 13:45

I have so many photos. Thousands of digital ones. Some of my favourites I have on a digital photo frame but my absolute faves have to be printed. A cushion or mouse mat are both great for those special family photos.

Tsuyoikochan · 19/04/2021 15:29

My wedding photos are probably my most treasured but I have lots of others too! I make albums on Facebook and I also have a digital photo frame to display them at home.

TrixitySmith · 19/04/2021 15:39

We have collage photo frames and have included photos of our children with friends and family. We've updated them recently not with newer photos but with other loved photos. Lots of pictures don't ever get printed because we take far too many to print and frame them all. It's lovely to look back through them occasionally though. We organise the photos by month and year so it's easier to find photos if we are looking for a specific memory and have them saved on cloud storage as well as our computer.

DinkyDaffodil · 19/04/2021 16:30

My treasured memories captured on my camera, and framed forever are the first hospital picture, first smile, toddling, and first time on the beach.
I have a gorgeous photo frame with them all in, and whatever day I am having, it always makes me smile.

1mummy1 · 19/04/2021 16:53

my children's baby photos and those of milestones like first day at school.
We all love looking at them

maryandbuzz1 · 19/04/2021 17:05

Holiday memories with my son are treasured and I have captured most of them on my iPad.

tab18 · 19/04/2021 18:18

As a foster care creating memory books really is such an important thing to do and to keep doing. We have created more memory books/boxes than I can honestly count. We do this for all those in our care and for our own children, with boxes of school work, photographs and diaries

ali65 · 19/04/2021 18:19

My treasured memories are of the biggest family parties we had with all the relatives while growing up and later my children growing up the joys of christmas ❤️

Tenohfour · 19/04/2021 18:30

Some of my most treasured memories center around photography itself. I still have photographs of the day when I got my first camera. My grandmother bought it for me and took me for a walk to try it out. I snapped 3 films worth of pictures and it was one of the happiest days of my childhood. Now I spend my time taking photographs of my own children and letting them play around taking photographs, only they don't have to save up to pay to have the pictures developed!

1969angep · 19/04/2021 19:41

I love looking back through old family albums and photos from my teens and 20's. All those dodgy photos from disposable cameras lol. I rarely print anything out these days. We bought Snapfish albums during the first couple of Lucas' years but everything now sits on the PC/phones/cloud. I keep meaning to get some old fashioned albums and get loads of prints done.

heathtink · 19/04/2021 19:53

We take one instax picture for each holiday we have had over the last 5 years and have a holiday book to look back with notes and memories. Its been amazing to look over during lockdown and has helped us soo much.

StickChildNumberTwo · 19/04/2021 21:02

Over the years I've had clip frames with lots of cut up photos from the days of film that travelled through all my student accommodation and beyond carrying memories of life before I left home, photos of special moments on the wall (and some family photoshoots to ensure we get good photos at different points in our lives), and the occasional photobook of particular events. In the early years of my children's lives I blogged photos regularly to share with family.

flowersfromheaven · 19/04/2021 22:01

My treasured moments was being there when my Daughter gave birth to my beautiful Granddaughter now I have her photo's on my dinning room walls.
