Takeaways are perfect for those days when cooking up a big family dinner is the last thing you want to think about. After a particularly long day at work or a busy first week back at school, you may feel that your favourite takeaway is needed more than ever. With this in mind, Deliveroo would like to hear about your dream takeaway.

Here’s what Deliveroo has to say: “At the end of the first week back at school, you may feel like treating your family and having their favourite takeaway delivered. That’s why we’re excited to hear about your favourite takeaways and to give 10 of you £50 Deliveroo credit so you can treat your family to a well deserved meal.

But that's not the only way Deliveroo can help with your back to school meal times! You can Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo every Mon-Weds in September. We’re offering £5 off when you spend £20 on delicious food delivered from local restaurants*. So whilst Eat Out to Help Out may have ended, Deliveroo is continuing to support the restaurant industry and you can too (without leaving your home).”

So, we are asking you: If you could order any takeaway to be delivered, what would it be? If you were to use the Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo scheme to order a takeaway, what would you choose? Are you a creature of habit who peruses menus for at least 10 minutes before inevitably deciding you’ll have the same as last time? Or do you like to try a new restaurant each time? Would a takeaway delivery after the first week back free up more time for you to spend as a family, and if so, how would you spend it?

Whether Mexican fajitas, Thai noodles or a classic Italian pizza is the takeaway of your dreams, share below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where 10 lucky MNers will each win £50 credit to spend on Deliveroo (T&Cs apply).

Thanks and good luck!

Barbecued ribs, chicken and prawns from a smokehouse with coleslaw and wedges.....

movingonup20 · 07/09/2020 18:04

I just want Deliveroo to operate here, or just eat, or the local Chinese to deliver! All we can get is dominos or kebab/burger/chicken place.

My dream was getting Japanese delivered or Keralan food where I used to live it was possible

NerrSnerr · 07/09/2020 21:14

I would have a spicy vegetable pizza with cheese stuffed crust, garlic bread and a tub of icecream.

WarmHugs · 07/09/2020 21:51

I only ever order Taco Bell from Deliveroo. I don’t even need to see the menu, it’s imprinted on my brain!

I really should try something new though...

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 07/09/2020 23:09

I would like a healthier alternative. I know that takeaways are a treat but I am trying to make better food choices due to Covid and it’s link with being overweight. So something yummy but less junkfood style would be nice. Maybe a posh salad or wraps filled with veg, rather than burger and chips for me Smile

billybear · 07/09/2020 23:13

pizza every time a real treat if i won could treat our family to lovely pizza

AllTeaAllShade · 08/09/2020 01:16

katsu...every time!

lookatmememe · 08/09/2020 04:45

Takeaway meals for one from DrClaires 800 recipe books would be incredibly useful right now.

HALA · 08/09/2020 08:28

I would go for a meze - I love having a bit of felafels, shish kebabs, halloumi and all the little tasters that come with the meze.

SerenityNowwwww · 08/09/2020 08:32

What did the cheese say when it looked in a mirror?

Hello-me

Hahahahaha. (Sorry I can never resist a cheese joke)

theneverendinglaundry · 08/09/2020 08:40

I've been craving a wagamamas for ages, although it wouldn't be the kids first choice 😂 so probably either pizza or hamburgers and fries!

Poor kids will all be tired by Friday so some kind of treat dinner is definitely in order!

Magentastorm101 · 08/09/2020 08:44

All of our household (myself, hubby & 6 sons) love to get a Chinese takeaway.
We order lots of different items and all sit round picking what we like best. We rarely get time where all of us are together at once so it's a great get together for us all.

Mummyoftwo91 · 08/09/2020 10:54

Would have to be Chinese! Salt and pepper chips, pineapple fried rice and black bean veg! I have ordered from deliveroo A LOT during the last few months Grin

lillypopdaisyduke · 08/09/2020 14:15

the takeaway of my dreams is spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and some vanilla ice-cream (I'll forget about the calories for one night).
I'd love to have a family takeaway delivered - it's such a treat.

Dogwalks2 · 08/09/2020 14:16

Thai anything I love it all. I always try something new and give it marks out of 20.

grool · 08/09/2020 17:57

It would have to be a chicken gyros wrap, extra halloumi and tzaziki.
With plenty of halloumi fries on the side

danigrace · 08/09/2020 19:57

We love Syrian / Lebanese style food, good meats, salads, pittas, and falafel and hummus mmmmm

Russell19 · 08/09/2020 20:06

It has to be curry every time! I always think I want to try something different but always end up with:
Onion baji
Chicken tikka masala
Egg fried rice
Lots of poppadoms with sauce
Garlic naan

So boring but do amazing!

seriousandloyal · 08/09/2020 22:14

If you could order any takeaway to be delivered, what would it be?

My family would argue for ages and then probably go for Chinese - loads of different starters that we all share. If it was just me choosing I would pick curry.

If you were to use the Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo scheme to order a takeaway, what would you choose?

Our local Italian uses this scheme and their food is always delicious so we would get a mixture of pizza and pasta dishes.

Are you a creature of habit who peruses menus for at least 10 minutes before inevitably deciding you’ll have the same as last time? Or do you like to try a new restaurant each time?

We always stick to our favourite tried and tested takeaway restaurants. My husband and kids are fairly adventurous and will try new dishes but I always order the same things.

Would a takeaway delivery after the first week back free up more time for you to spend as a family, and if so, how would you spend it?

Yes that would be fab and would free up time (and energy) for us to have a movie night all together.

Sleepybumble · 09/09/2020 09:55

I love takeaway pizza but none of the rest of the family are that excited by them. So instead we'd order tapas from our favourite tapas bars in town. We all love it

malaguena · 09/09/2020 11:54

My own ideal takeaway would be a huge sushi platter with salmon, tuna and veg options, different types of stuff (sashimi, nigiri), miso soup. My kids however absolutely hate sushi, so I would probably end up going to Indian food, which we all love. I like trying different dishes, but I do stick to tried and tested takeaway places as I have had so many bad experiences. I would have bhajis and samosas, then probably saag paneer, butter chicken, chicken tikka, lamb biryani served with rice and naan... and then mango lassi to top it off. Lebanese or Turkish food are also big favourites.

LockdownLucy · 09/09/2020 17:51

I always treat myself to a Deliveroo on the night when the kids are at their dads and I go through phases - chinese for a few months, then a curry, the mexican... I like to see what's new and getting exactly what I want for once in the week - not what everyone else wants!

I'm currently loving a Jamaican Burger & Mexican restaurant (love how eclectic that is) - I get a beautiful gourmet burger with a side of vegetable tortilla - so light, crunchy peppers and onions and generous with the cheese - and another side of cheesy chips. It's all my favourite things and comes in under 15 pounds and so that'd have to be my dream - I certainly dream about it on the nights in between!

Also being able to get a bag of shopping with milk, dinner bits, and a bottle of wine from the local co op is a "dream" at times when I have worked late and haven't been able to get to the shop. No mucking about with "delivery slots" needed!

Feargalthecat · 09/09/2020 23:08

Our dream order would be a full on Indian takeaway with all the extras. We like an Indian because no matter how we stuff our faces there's still always enough leftovers for the next day's dinner. Winner winner chicken tikka dinner!

Sophiafour · 10/09/2020 00:26

Oooh, choices, choices....it would have to be either

i. fish and chips from our nearest, family-run, small chip shop (we live by the sea so we have loads of great chip shops, but this one is REALLY good, they get their fish from Brixham, we believe) OR

ii. a lovely combination of katsu curry for me and a sushi tray for the other half from our newly-opened family run Japanese takeaway OR

iii. one of the lovely Chinese banquets for 2 from what we reckon is our best Chinese restaurant/takeaway (yes, it's also family run) - I'm thinking longingly right now of their gorgeous sweet and sour pork with the lovely viscous sauce, prawn crackers, and the spicy chilli crispy beef...

llynnnn · 10/09/2020 10:34

I wish we had a local takeaway who would deliver a full roast dinner, with a selection of meats and veg!

We usually opt for a pizza though...can't beat it on a Saturday night, my whole fussy family are happy with a few different pizzas, chips and garlic bread, so I can relax with a glass of something!
