This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Takeaways are perfect for those days when cooking up a big family dinner is the last thing you want to think about. After a particularly long day at work or a busy first week back at school, you may feel that your favourite takeaway is needed more than ever. With this in mind, Deliveroo would like to hear about your dream takeaway.

Here’s what Deliveroo has to say: “At the end of the first week back at school, you may feel like treating your family and having their favourite takeaway delivered. That’s why we’re excited to hear about your favourite takeaways and to give 10 of you £50 Deliveroo credit so you can treat your family to a well deserved meal.

But that's not the only way Deliveroo can help with your back to school meal times! You can Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo every Mon-Weds in September. We’re offering £5 off when you spend £20 on delicious food delivered from local restaurants*. So whilst Eat Out to Help Out may have ended, Deliveroo is continuing to support the restaurant industry and you can too (without leaving your home).”

So, we are asking you: If you could order any takeaway to be delivered, what would it be? If you were to use the Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo scheme to order a takeaway, what would you choose? Are you a creature of habit who peruses menus for at least 10 minutes before inevitably deciding you’ll have the same as last time? Or do you like to try a new restaurant each time? Would a takeaway delivery after the first week back free up more time for you to spend as a family, and if so, how would you spend it?

Whether Mexican fajitas, Thai noodles or a classic Italian pizza is the takeaway of your dreams, share below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where 10 lucky MNers will each win £50 credit to spend on Deliveroo (T&Cs apply).

Thanks and good luck!

Paneer Tikka Karai, garlic naan, brinjal bhaji and daal makhani from our favourite Indian

Mayflower400 · 05/09/2020 16:08

I would choose a delicious Persian lamb stew!

PickledChicory · 05/09/2020 16:39

It would have to be a Chinese take away we love sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean, chowmein, spring rolls, egg fried rice and some prawn crackers hopefully thrown in for free. Not very authentic but our kids love it and its a great whole family treat.

Nottheshrinkingcapgrandpa · 05/09/2020 16:46

I would like to eat a Chinese take-away, where everything on the menu is gluten free and I don’t have to worry about getting accidentally glutened...

HarryBob · 05/09/2020 17:56

We are creatures of habit here - always get a Italian sausage and black olives pizza from papa johns if we get takeaway, although we are terrible for taking 15-20 mins to 'browse' a menu reading the options out to each other.

I would love to find somewhere to get really good Mexican food delivered from - burritos, chimichangas etc. Or to be able to order in sweet treats like IHOP-style pancakes or french toast with different toppings. I'm hungry now!

Plussizejumpsuit · 05/09/2020 18:18

Probably yo sushi. Or a similar Japanese style food from a local place. Must say I've been using Deliveroo a lot more in lockdown! Blush

Startoftheyear2020 · 05/09/2020 23:30

Ours would be steak, chips and bearnaise sauce, with Belgian mustard. Cooked to perfection!

cleowasmycat · 05/09/2020 23:50

I would choose a full English breakfast on a Saturday morning and a roast on a Sunday. Weekends are for eating!

msbevvy · 06/09/2020 00:01

Mine would be Chinese crispy duck with pancakes accompanied by onion bhajis and matar paneer from my favourite Indian restaurant.

WildImaginings · 06/09/2020 01:09

If I could I'd get a huge pad Thai with all the trimmings- but none of the local takeaways serve it!

Instead I'd have a Chinese/Malaysian- veggie lettuce wraps, prawn toast, seaweed, egg fried rice, prawn sambal, rendang veggie chicken, veggie crispy beef and Singapore chow mein prawns only.

Obviously shared between a few of us- although egg fried rice rice is my favourite part of the meal so a whole portion to myself!

I'm now lying in bed with my stomach rumbling!

TheGriffle · 06/09/2020 07:40

We would order Chinese for the whole family or pizza. Our girls have recently discovered egg fried rice and love it.

Tequilamockinbird · 06/09/2020 12:00

I would order burritos or quesadillas from Chiquitos. My absolute favourite!

For dessert I'd order crepes with melted chocolate and strawberry's or maybe warm waffles with ice cream and salted caramel sauce 😋

PurpleMustang · 06/09/2020 18:13

Really wish there was more variety, independent takeaways/restaurants where we are. Lots of chain companies. Our favourite takeaway is a Chinese. Had one last week and have missed it so much. Yes they can be easy enough to make at home but so much more fun for the cook to get it in, with several different dishes to suit everyone

10milewalk · 06/09/2020 19:55

I would choose a nice vegan pizza with garlic bread.

Ashton08 · 06/09/2020 19:57

I love a good curry after a heavy week at work.😃

dadshere · 06/09/2020 21:10

I would order an italian feast with pizza bianca, bruschetta, spaghetti al vongole and washed down with a nice crisp white wine. Obviously I would need some amazing gelato to finish off.

Olinguito · 07/09/2020 01:27

My choice would be Thai red chicken curry with sticky rice - my go-to meal out.

Eminybob · 07/09/2020 06:49

Thai!
Green chicken curry
Coconut rice
Thai beef salad

DH doesn’t like it and the dc won’t eat it so I never get to have it Sad

flowerpower32 · 07/09/2020 07:00

We love Deliveroo and it's almost always Wagamama! Grin

Iloveantiques · 07/09/2020 13:27

Lamb biryani for teen, lamb shaslick for me (no carbs 😭) but it has to be our fav Indian restaurant every time because nobody does it better!

Decentsalnotime · 07/09/2020 13:40

There's a fab Lebanese place near us that does great food. I would order a big spread with the mixed grill, fresh tzatziki, flatbreads and salads, maybe the halloumi stuffed flat breads too!

PooterLoop · 07/09/2020 14:26

Definitely a Chinese - prawn toast, Szechuan chicken, egg fried rice, chicken fried rice, crispy duck with pancakes... Grin
