This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part.

Takeaways are perfect for those days when cooking up a big family dinner is the last thing you want to think about. After a particularly long day at work or a busy first week back at school, you may feel that your favourite takeaway is needed more than ever. With this in mind, Deliveroo would like to hear about your dream takeaway.

Here’s what Deliveroo has to say: “At the end of the first week back at school, you may feel like treating your family and having their favourite takeaway delivered. That’s why we’re excited to hear about your favourite takeaways and to give 10 of you £50 Deliveroo credit so you can treat your family to a well deserved meal.

But that's not the only way Deliveroo can help with your back to school meal times! You can Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo every Mon-Weds in September. We’re offering £5 off when you spend £20 on delicious food delivered from local restaurants*. So whilst Eat Out to Help Out may have ended, Deliveroo is continuing to support the restaurant industry and you can too (without leaving your home).”

So, we are asking you: If you could order any takeaway to be delivered, what would it be? If you were to use the Eat In to Help Out with Deliveroo scheme to order a takeaway, what would you choose? Are you a creature of habit who peruses menus for at least 10 minutes before inevitably deciding you’ll have the same as last time? Or do you like to try a new restaurant each time? Would a takeaway delivery after the first week back free up more time for you to spend as a family, and if so, how would you spend it?

Whether Mexican fajitas, Thai noodles or a classic Italian pizza is the takeaway of your dreams, share below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where 10 lucky MNers will each win £50 credit to spend on Deliveroo (T&Cs apply).

Thanks and good luck!

Garlic King Prawns - from Zizzi's would be my go-to perfect takeaway, and if I am having a dessert - sticky toffee pudding

I love Thai food, so my perfect takeaway (delivered by Deliveroo) would be Ton Kha for starters, King Scollops in soy sauce with some crispy noodles - just delicious. don't think I'd have room for Cake

My dream takeaway would first and foremost be to have all of my immediate and extended family from here and overseas in our garden on a sunny day, then ordering trays beautiful fresh food from Itsu and chilled wine from our amazing local wine merchants. Can’t believe it took lockdown for me to discover you could even get anything other than takeaway food through Deliveroo!

It often takes me a very long time to find something I like as I always feel overwhelmed with choice.

I would love to have Vietnamese as that's something not available around here, but usually end us with lovely Thai food.

For this family Indian is always our first choice! There's so many great little independent places where we are. Choosing from the menu is a 20 min dithering affair for me and the kids (who want everything and can never decide!). DH is a creature of habit and will always order a vindaloo, fluffy garlic naan, extra rice, and tandoor pineapple Grin. I also love a brunch in the morning with leftovers- delicious.

We LOVE a takeaway as a it saves on washing up time and means we can relax around the table together, sometimes with a boxset on in the background. When we've got to the pudding stage (rice kheer, kulfi and chai

Some tasty pizzas, as both my children are really into pizza at the moment! A large side salad, a cold coke and some fried cheesy, chilli thing. Mmmm. We would all sit around the table and share whist we talk about our first week (my boy starts pre-school this week and is very excited!) 🙂

A hot one.
Last week we ordered a meal via Deliveroo and it arrived stone cold. Took the driver 45 minutes after leaving the restaurant, for a 10 minutes trip.
I know they sometimes have other deliveries but that was too much even for us.

It would be a burger from Honest Burger. The Tribute is my fave - always a treat.

McDonalds definitely! I always think about trying something new then order a McChicken sandwich meal and a McFlurry like I do every time.

We love a pizza. We always order too much and have enough left over for lunch the following day 🤣

Proper fish and chips, cooked in beef dripping. Rarely disappoints.

During lockdown I was diagnosed as coeliac, so any takeaway would be a real treat as I am still getting used to what is gluten free!
It would probably be from Pizza Express as they offer a great gluten free pizza base which is delicious!

It will have to Indian buffet as all my family loves curries, rice and naan bread. We would love to try other Indian dishes as long not too spicy

Out Chinese is on its way... sad they don’t actually tell you which is veggie and the names don’t always give the contents away. They always lump meat/fish in with the ‘vegetable’ section and I almost ordered something that sounded veggie until I duck duck go-Ed it and found that the dish ‘traditionally comes with minced pork’.

DH wouldn’t let me order jellyfish and cucumber for DS (I assume it really is jellyfish and cucumber...).

Anyway... just thought I’d make your mouths water... I haven’t had Chinese since lockdown and am ridiculously excited!

I would either order a Chinese takeaway or an Indian takeaway. As long as its nice and spicy, you can't really go wrong.

I'd choose an Indian meal - mixed tikka starter followed by a delicious pasanda with coconut rice and a peshwari naan and a side of onion bhagee and poppadoms and chutney

I’d go for a delivery from my local vegan cafe, their food is fresh and delicious and their brownies are to die for. DD went from claiming she couldn’t possibly eat vegan food to declaring their cupcakes the best she’d ever tasted!

There's a loval place on Deliveroo called The Ladz here. I'm recently single so would have the girls round. Sort of like nandos but nicer we would order a platter which is a whole peri peri chicken, wings, chicken strips, peri peri fries, mozzarella sticks, a peach and pineapple slushie. I'd like to go extra hot but I'd compromise since I'm sharing Grin

My first choice would always be sushi. Salmon sashimi and nigiri with a side of edamame beans. I always have the same as nothing ever tastes as good.

Thai fishcake starter, Thai prawn green curry and coconut rice. Plus prawn crackers.
