It may be hard to think beyond the lockdown, but we’re all looking forward to getting back to doing the everyday things that we might have taken for granted. With this in mind, IKEA would love to hear what you’re most looking forward to once lockdown has been lifted.

Here’s what IKEA has to say: “Life at home has never felt more important than it does right now. But it’s brought some fresh new challenges. Whether it’s dealing with new colleagues that bark or cry, or finding distractions around every corner. Whilst we’re conquering the great indoors and enjoying time at home, we’re looking forward to getting back out in open spaces and catching up with friends, family and colleagues.”

What everyday things are you most looking forward to doing once the lockdown is over? Perhaps it’s a much needed post-quarantine haircut or being able to nip out to the supermarket planning for the entire week ahead? Are you looking forward to a quick visit to a friend or family member’s house for a cup of tea? Maybe you’re even looking forward to resuming your commute? Are you eager to have the freedom to be able to decide on an impromptu trip to IKEA for some meatballs?

Whatever you’re most looking forward to, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £200 IKEA voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

A gathering with my family, we're across three households and cannot wait to see everyone together! Hoping for a BBQ, even if it's near Christmas 😂

MsSafina · 16/05/2020 13:32

Going to the hairdresser. Having lunch with my son.

jitterbugintomybrain · 16/05/2020 13:36

I am looking forward to seeing my sister and 3 week old twin boys x I have missed holding seeing and loving them (and helping my sister who is a first time mum)

countrylanes · 16/05/2020 13:45

Going to my dance class - going to the beer cafe afterwards with friends from the class. Going to my favourite cafe. Visiting friends in Scotland and London. Taking up new hobbies- meeting new people. Going back to work and having a laugh with my colleague. Going into town.

Going to ikea to buy another bed

Going out with friends

Going into shops or for lunch or dinner out do I don’t have to buy food and cook it. (Not that I cook it as I have been banned from the kitchen as I am a terrible cook)
Just going out to buy stuff instead of having to do click and collect or stand in a 40 minute queue outside out local B&Q

I'm looking forward to my family being able to meet my daughter!! She was born on the first week on lockdown and hasn't been able to meet any grandparents / aunts / uncles / great grandparents / family etc! She's out first baby the first baby in the family so everyone is so excited to finally meet her

I’m wanting to update my garden, looking at a new table & chairs but I want to look before I buy.

lolly2010 · 16/05/2020 15:38

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 16/05/2020 15:47

Going to IKEA to try out new sofas - ours desperately needs replacing but I need to try them out before committing to buying one.

Also looking forward to an extended family meal out, getting hair cuts and just being able to return to some type of normality.

I'm hoping that I might get to see friends and family once in person whilst I'm pregnant as we told everyone over the phone or in a message.

We'd love to be able to see ikea nursery furniture in person if we can before buying it.

voyager50 · 16/05/2020 16:35

Meeting up with a friend in my favourite local coffee shop - I love the atmosphere in there and they make the best chai lattes - it's the perfect place to have an in-person Cath up with a friend.

Realitea · 16/05/2020 18:49

I cannot wait to visit my Mum and Dad. I know they're finding it very lonely now and they're getting a bit bored. I do miss my Mum's Sunday roasts.
Hanging around the shops, browsing make up, home stuff and summer dresses.
Afternoon tea with my Mum - I bought her a gift card for a really lovely hotel afternoon tea for mothers day, before I realised everywhere would be shutting shortly after.
Going to a restaurant with my husband, having dinner in peace and a glass of wine
I'd also love to go swimming again. I didn't even go swimming much before but I just really fancy it now :D

tamtamfam · 16/05/2020 20:37

Test and buy an ikea mattress! So so wish I'd done this before lockdown

InAGarden · 16/05/2020 20:45

Going on holiday, going walking with our friends, having mum over for dinner, getting back to work, feeling free to go shopping as a family and eating out together.

Hopethiswilldo · 16/05/2020 20:50

Receiving my Ikea order that I paid £165 for months ago

birdling · 16/05/2020 20:53

I just want the chance to have 1 hour alone in the house.
Not for any particular reason, just desperate to be alone for a bit.

zowiewowie · 16/05/2020 20:59

Taking my little boy to see my parents and having lots of hugs!

Stegasaurusmum · 16/05/2020 21:05

Hugging people, eating out, browsing charity shops. Just seeing everything and everyone!

SylvanianFrenemies · 16/05/2020 21:09

Moving house.
Going to a cafe with a friend.
Hugging my parents.
Visiting elderly relatives.
Going to the cinema with DP.
Going to work! I'm shielding and working from home. I miss being able to do my full job - though I love the commute!!

SylvanianFrenemies · 16/05/2020 21:09

I hear you @birdling!

Kitikat1979 · 16/05/2020 21:41

A spa day and a pub lunch!

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 16/05/2020 23:46

Camping! Somewhere other than the back garden and with our friends.
I also can't wait to mooch around the charity shops and pick up some new books.
