It may be hard to think beyond the lockdown, but we’re all looking forward to getting back to doing the everyday things that we might have taken for granted. With this in mind, IKEA would love to hear what you’re most looking forward to once lockdown has been lifted.

Here’s what IKEA has to say: “Life at home has never felt more important than it does right now. But it’s brought some fresh new challenges. Whether it’s dealing with new colleagues that bark or cry, or finding distractions around every corner. Whilst we’re conquering the great indoors and enjoying time at home, we’re looking forward to getting back out in open spaces and catching up with friends, family and colleagues.”

What everyday things are you most looking forward to doing once the lockdown is over? Perhaps it’s a much needed post-quarantine haircut or being able to nip out to the supermarket planning for the entire week ahead? Are you looking forward to a quick visit to a friend or family member’s house for a cup of tea? Maybe you’re even looking forward to resuming your commute? Are you eager to have the freedom to be able to decide on an impromptu trip to IKEA for some meatballs?

Whatever you’re most looking forward to, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £200 IKEA voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I like lockdown and staying in. I do need some more Kallax boxes so I'm looking forward to going to IKEA and getting them there as they cost a fortune on amazon. Happy to hibernate in my house after Ikea visit.

NineteenForever · 24/05/2020 19:37

I'll be looking at furniture and DIY gear in real shops again, lockdown has, made me want to spruce the house up!

GinLimeandLemonade · 24/05/2020 20:30

We're looking forward to going to Ikea and finally picking out some new dining chairs! We've already picked the table but can't decide on chairs and I want to go and see them in person 😄 I saw this today so I'm super excited! www.ikea.com/gb/en/campaigns/coronavirus-covid-19-information-page-pubc8d251f0

Once lockdown is totally over I'm also looking forward to having family over and making good use of our new dining arrangement 😊 and travelling to see family further away ❤

Sending my newborn to meet my friends and family .

malaguena · 24/05/2020 22:44

Very simple pleasures that I took for granted: having a coffee with friends, taking my children to the playground so I can read a book in the sun, restaurant with family. I am desperate for garden furniture so will definitely be planning a trip to Ikea soon, along with a daim tart from your café!

Moving more and losing the lockdown weight! Moving house too and getting a place of our very own.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 25/05/2020 06:46

Getting together with my 2DSis and DParents and just celebrating being together, having a little party tea and just letting the DC play with their cousins

We are incredibly close so I feel like half of me is missing! Phone/video calls just aren't the same

A getaway to somewhere on the coast, although that will probably be next year now. My boys are looking forward to our local farm adventure park opening. It will be nice to do more outdoor activities with them that isn't walking!

sm2012 · 25/05/2020 11:00

So looking forward to going swimming, miss the pool. I'm also in desperate need of a haircut as my last appointment was cancelled as it was in the first week of lockdown!!

thenamesarealltaken · 25/05/2020 17:54

I will be moving home soon after lockdown and also renting a house for my daughter and her friend, until they find work plus taking my son to university - 7 hours away, so I think you can imagine what all that will involve.

MiddlesexGirl · 25/05/2020 19:03

Hugging my friends. I'm not the most huggy of people but I really miss that.

suchclearwater · 25/05/2020 22:06

Going to Ikea and fitting out our barn!

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 25/05/2020 22:40

Giving my Mum a hug.

I am looking forward to taking the kids to the butterfly kingdom or the sea life centre as they've been really good during lockdown. + i am having a quarantine baby so ill need to show off my bump too lol

I am looking forward to wandering around ikea again but i've ordered a new bed and a balcony table & chairs since lock down so i'm glad they still deliver ♡

pumpingRSI · 26/05/2020 07:56

My son wants to go to his favourite wwII museum and my daughter wants to go swimming.

We both want to sit in a pub beer garden on a sunny day! 🍺 ☀️

CheeryCherry · 26/05/2020 08:45

Can’t wait to have friends over for coffee - I moved house just as lockdown started - so no one has seen it! Need an ikea run too for essential bits and bobs too! And can’t wait to buy a sofa - I’ve not had one for 18 months.

0utForAWalkBitch · 26/05/2020 09:37

I am dying to go swimming in the lido again.

Also get on a plane and go and see my family. I miss them.

GooodMythicalMorning · 26/05/2020 11:01

Shopping, not essential shopping but the kind of shopping where you spend ages just browsing and looking through everything and just enjoying your time. Coffee in a little coffee shop in the middle, with a cake. Either by myself or with mum or my bestie.

Bloatstoat · 26/05/2020 14:31

I can't wait to see family, particularly my mum. She has taken to wearing a scarf over her head during video calls, so I think family is second on her list after the hairdresser Grin
Less important but also something I'm looking forward to - we moved in a couple of months before lockdown and had plans to decorate which have all been on hold, we need to get some plastering done then I'm really looking forward to painting especially my DC's rooms and get things looking good.

ineedabreakk · 26/05/2020 16:51

I'm looking forward to going out to a pub or restaurant, meeting up with friends and family and going on a UK holiday

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/05/2020 19:17

I'm especially looking forward to seeing my daughter who's stayed on in her Uni city doing a research project sharing her student flat with her friend.
Haven't seen her since, January so missing her, a lot!

Megansmumsie · 26/05/2020 20:44

A few things, nothing major.

Firstly, i was actually looking forward to going to Ikea as there's a room in there that i've been using as inspiration for the book i'm writing but sadly as our store is the Coventry store it will never open it's doors again.

Plus, being stuck in the house, i've seen load of places i can squirrel away some of my favourite hemnes furniture. I've been wanting a shoe cupboard for my hall and book case for my living room since lockdown began but i've not wanted to do delivery (it's bloody expensive!).

I miss shopping- i caught corona back in February and due to some other health concerns i'm only just getting over it properly although my ribs still hurt and still can't taste and smell right. I want to take my daughter shopping, vintage dresses and crystals- nothing needed, just for fun.

Beyond that and much later.. waaaaaay after lockdown has ended i'd like to go to the theatre and the beach, i've missed both terribly.

Onabusgoingnowhere · 26/05/2020 21:16

Looking forward to buying all my usual Ikea favourites like candles, crockery, coloured glassware and throws but to share with a big group of friends in a casual gathering. Just relaxed togetherness!

EmergencyPractitioner · 26/05/2020 22:02

Looking forward to interior designing our new home
