It may be hard to think beyond the lockdown, but we’re all looking forward to getting back to doing the everyday things that we might have taken for granted. With this in mind, IKEA would love to hear what you’re most looking forward to once lockdown has been lifted.

Here’s what IKEA has to say: “Life at home has never felt more important than it does right now. But it’s brought some fresh new challenges. Whether it’s dealing with new colleagues that bark or cry, or finding distractions around every corner. Whilst we’re conquering the great indoors and enjoying time at home, we’re looking forward to getting back out in open spaces and catching up with friends, family and colleagues.”

What everyday things are you most looking forward to doing once the lockdown is over? Perhaps it’s a much needed post-quarantine haircut or being able to nip out to the supermarket planning for the entire week ahead? Are you looking forward to a quick visit to a friend or family member’s house for a cup of tea? Maybe you’re even looking forward to resuming your commute? Are you eager to have the freedom to be able to decide on an impromptu trip to IKEA for some meatballs?

Whatever you’re most looking forward to, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £200 IKEA voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I’m really looking forward to taking my little boy to see all his family, he’s 6 months and has missed so much. I would use the vouchers to buy him some things for his nursery!

Glitterbubbles · 17/05/2020 22:32

Going wedding dress shopping, seeing friends and family and being able to shop for things to do up our home

WhispersOfWickedness · 17/05/2020 23:04

Obviously visiting Ikea 😁
Also, my daughter has not taken lockdown well, most of all she would like to be able to get back into the dance studio where she trains, she's been having zoom lessons, but it's just not the same 😔

TheGirlWithGlassFeet · 17/05/2020 23:38

Going to see my mum. I really miss her.

Mintjulia · 18/05/2020 02:26

Cycling to the pub with my sister, whom I haven’t seen in months, drinking cider in the garden surrounded by other people laughing and chatting, and then cycling home.

supermanisdead · 18/05/2020 07:08

I want to go back to work! I miss my students :( and hug my mum.

notpastaagain · 18/05/2020 09:14

Going round to family so they can meet our newborn twins and reunite with our DD (4). We’ve missed everyone!

What are you looking forward to doing once the lockdown is over?

I am really looking forward to seeing my grandma and grandad, they are both in a care home, are 89 and 91, full of life, being very well cared for, but I used to go and see them every Sunday, with some home baking, and have a chat with them both. I have seen them through the window 5 weeks ago - I am missing them soooo much. But as long as they are safe and shielded I will wait.

The first thing I will be doing is buying an ikea trofast to keep all the sodding Lego I keep standing on in.

I'll probably stop in ikea on the way to my parents house!

mummymummymummummum · 18/05/2020 11:40

Hopefully things will come in phases, so lots of things to look forward to!

  1. Taking the children swimming again
  2. Visiting NT Wimpole and the farm
  3. Seeing my parents again
  4. Spending time with Mum friends and going for coffee and cake!
DuckingMel · 18/05/2020 12:32

Looking forward to buying a shed (to have for my art-making) and decorating it with IKEA shelves, desk and comfy chair.

BaitandSwitch · 18/05/2020 12:47

I need to go to IKEA - for a new mattress and their cinnamon buns!

lozaa · 18/05/2020 13:31

CakeCakeCake21 · 18/05/2020 13:43

Going swimming, preferably outdoors. Seeing my mum and dad, sisters , nephews and nieces. And for my sons to be able to see their friends.

grey12 · 18/05/2020 14:12

Going to IKEA to buy a mattress for DD bed. Ordered the bed online but the mattress has to be in store.... since I'm pregnant I want to move her to her own room very soon! Wish me luck! Smile

Laney79 · 18/05/2020 14:31

I'm desperate for my parents to have a cuddle with my son who's now 5 months old...oh and a haircut!

Kennylou12 · 18/05/2020 14:42

I'm looking forward to introducing our newborn son to all my family, particularly as a lot of my family live abroad so I haven't seen them since last year! I am also looking forward to finally getting to browse the baby bedroom furniture in IKEA and having a well deserved Ikea hot dog at the end of the visit!

WhatsWhat456 · 18/05/2020 14:43

Going to Ikea! I have so much stuff I want/need to buy as the whole family being home has highlighted a few issues, with storage, kitchen utensils, cookware, cutlery, seating, dd needs a new matteress, I want shoe store units, a 3m pax wardrobe and the list goes on! I would order online but the larger stuff isn't available for delivery due to being a 2 man job.

caffeinebuzz · 18/05/2020 15:27

Introducing newborn DS to his grandparents. And a much needed haircut!

Ijustneed · 18/05/2020 15:36

Taking my 81 year old mum out for coffee and cake.

foxessocks · 18/05/2020 18:22

Buying my kids their promised bunk beds! We can actually order them now but need carpet fitting first which is proving tricky

foxessocks · 18/05/2020 18:23

I was focussing on IKEA related stuff Grin I'm most looking forward to spending time with my parents!

SusanWalker · 18/05/2020 18:48

Seeing my sister. And getting to give my brand new baby great niece a cuddle. I haven't seen her except for photos since she's been born.

MrsFrTedCrilly · 18/05/2020 19:14

A spa day
Seeing my friends and family
Having someone else cook mule dinner

winewolfhowls · 18/05/2020 19:19

Weird because I just saw this post only minutes after thinking oh I can't wait to go back to IKEA for some of these freezer bags! But just looking forward to generalised mooching with the kids.
