Family skincare tips shared with La Roche-Posay

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Double cleanse using a flannel or a micro fibre cloth.
If you don't think it's necessary, give it a go and on the second cleanse take a look at the flannel.

LRP Cicaplast Baume is excellent for restoring your skin barrier if you've over done it on the actives (retinol/ vit C etc) or your skin needs some TLC

Spend the least of your £ on a moisturiser and the most you can afford on a serum.

Be careful with exposure to the sun especially in hot countries on family holidays, wear a good sun protection.

xcxcsophiexcxc · 26/02/2020 18:59

Not bathing the kids excessively and e45 and drinking plenty for keeping skin healthy

sor5 · 26/02/2020 19:06

I regularly use an Epiderm cream on the children's 'trouble spots' (behind the knees, inside elbows, face etc) We have also started using Sanex 0% shower gel on the girls and the fact that it in non fragrant has made a big difference to their skin!

towser44 · 26/02/2020 19:44

Aloe Vera all the way!

Annak789 · 26/02/2020 19:45

I always cleanse, tone and moisturise and always cover my boys with a factor 50 suncream.

runkaterun · 26/02/2020 20:25

Glycerine soap. Body shop do several fruity flavours. My hands started to get dry a couple of winters, then I remembered my grandma always asked for glycerine soaps and my hands have been fine ever since.

emmav6 · 26/02/2020 22:08

coconut oil is fantastic for all ages and completely natural

juju3 · 26/02/2020 22:09

Always use non fragranced product that are designed for sensitive skin

Tortiepops · 26/02/2020 23:06

A quick rub of olive oil on the hands whenever we are all in the kitchen!

Cailin7 · 26/02/2020 23:11

we do not vary our individual routines other than sun cream in the summer months. However myself and DH like to keep to minimal routine. Our DS1 has zero routine. DS 2 likes potions and lotions and spends forever. but we all have healthy normal skin, so who knows.

Cotswoldmama · 26/02/2020 23:14

My son has awful eczema so we have a skin care routine for him but it changes as we discover different products that help. Or if he's having a flare up. He's just got over a flare up and palmers cocoa butter seems to be keeping it under control right now. I use factor 30 on my face every day and retinol at night as well as an oil every other night.

Lisapaige24 · 27/02/2020 06:12

phillie1 · 27/02/2020 08:27

My Grandma, my mum, me and my daughters(now 21 and 18) have always used Olay(was Ulay before!) - very simple and effective

helly27 · 27/02/2020 11:32

Other than drier lips in the winter so more lip balm our family doesn't really have winter issues with skin

BL0SS0M · 27/02/2020 11:34

suncream in summer or on hot days, coconut oil on dry skin and drink lots of water everyday

mishknight · 27/02/2020 14:05

We try to use non-fragranced products

whizzybop · 27/02/2020 14:33

Mild, paraben free olive oil soap for face and body. If our skin is dry we use coconut oil. This is brilliant for sunburn, dry skin and chapped lips and It tastes great too.

Visioncroquet · 27/02/2020 19:41

I'm really into a few drops of essential oils with a base like coconut or rosehip oil. Loving lavender and sweet orange essential oils at the minute. Leaves the skin looking and smelling amazing

beckyinman · 27/02/2020 22:37

Keep it as natural as possible and crank up the spf
