Family skincare tips shared with La Roche-Posay

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I tend to have a basic cleanse and moisturise routine. I read somewhere that washing your face twice each time can be as good as wash and tone so that's what I tend to do in summer when my skin is more oily. I use a thicker night moisturiser during the winter when my skin is drier but other than that nothing much changes. My day lotion has SPF in it so that is usually enough for the UK sun for me. The kids need a higher SPF sunscreen.

We all use simple unscented soap. The children's eczema definitely flares up worse in winter and requires more emollient and steroid creams although I think that is in part having to wear long trousers.

Daily showers and lots of moisturiser on bodies. This keeps our skin looking and feeling fresh. I always use a face moisturiser with SPF 20. I make sure we all wear hats when out & about.

as the DC get a bit older they like to moisturise more.
DD1 age 12 now uses a face cream.
DD2 has dry legs but also sensitive skin so finding something that works for her is a bit hit and miss.

I feel like an idiot for saying this, but I'm going to say it - I've always felt a bit "intimidated" by La Rochay Posay as I'm dreadful at French and think I will mispronnouce it even if I don't (I know it doesn't matter).

Very mixed picture in out house, Double cleanse for me tone, moisturiser with spf 15 minumum , lynx on a shower squeegie for DH, refused moisturiser because he says it gives him spots (he's 51) ,but will use spf in summer, water then spot cream for ds2, ds3, I think the water just hits his face when he's in the shower, ds 1 has no wash for days or exfoliates and moisturiser.

Liz Earle for both teens and more elderly mother. Bonus is it's so good at removing truck loads of makeup.

I love to use the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm on all the family. It is work great on my children dry hands in the winter and especially now with the dry effect of hand sanitizer. As great for there patches of eczema that flare up in winter. I also use it on my dry lips and around my eye before I use my retinoid.
