Family skincare tips shared with La Roche-Posay

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

We use olive oil on dry patches and in the summer we all use factor 50 sunscreen. We also use vaseline for our lips.

socat · 25/02/2020 14:20

Summer - High SPF cream is essential
Winter - Zeroderm is great on the feet (especially heels)

E45 cream and lots of good food. (Also wine for when the children are in bed)

Bigboytyson · 25/02/2020 14:35

I suffer from bad skin throughout the year and I use Aveeno and if its need for my partner and our daughter then they use it too.
My skin is worse in the heat so I put cream on morning and bed time and also make sure that I use Fairy Non bio to wash our clothes in which I have always done to also help our skin.
I also use Aveeno in the shower and bath to to help our skin.

i always use magnesium salts in bath. good for skin and health for all family

Loulabellegirl · 25/02/2020 14:54

My miracle product LRP Cictaplast balm - used it since my children were tiny on every spot, area of dry skin, scrapes etc. Great on kids skin and my own....

emmmaaa26 · 25/02/2020 15:05

I wear sunscreen and moisturiser everyday because Im extremely fair skinned and my kids have sunscreen in the sunnier months and moisturiser on when they go in the bath.

WowOoo · 25/02/2020 15:12

We use a Neutrogena face wash for my spot prone teen.
I am happy that he actually washes his face daily - my friend's son does not and you can tell.

MAForster · 25/02/2020 15:33

E45 lotion seems to help most problems

sophiefx · 25/02/2020 15:39

Lots of sun cream in the summer and hot days. I don't tend to use anything that shouldn't be on my little girls skin!

WaitrosesCheapestVodka · 25/02/2020 15:47

Love LRP's Shaka facial sunscreen. It's matte and sits beautifully under make up. DH has rosacea and can use it to prevent flare ups without looking shiny or risking acne.

For our DD we let her get a bit of sun in the mornings for vitamin D, then try to use SPF clothing alongside a cream.

My best baby tip is a facial muslin in the bath to gently exfoiliate and prevent cradle cap.

sweir1 · 25/02/2020 15:49

For my baby, I use lotion after a bath. For the kids we use good suncream in the summer

glennamy · 25/02/2020 16:19

We only use sun cream as a family and maybe a little Vaseline for harder skin areas...

IonaAilidh11 · 25/02/2020 17:28

sensitive face wash and cleanser seem to work for everyone

ashde · 25/02/2020 17:49

The whole family has sensitive skin so we use Sanex shower gel as the only one that works well for us. Using lots of skin lotion afterwards helps skin soft and moisturised.

AR2012 · 25/02/2020 18:02

getting in the habit of moisturizing once you've washed your hands and after a bath is a good way to look after the skin.

Ikea1234 · 25/02/2020 18:15

Suncream in the sunshine, we use washballs on clothing instead of harsh detergents in our machine, and as natural products on skin and hair as we can. We come across harsh enough detergents in everyday life without adding more to the equation!

liz1970 · 25/02/2020 18:28

We use dove soap all year round. Plenty of factor 50 sun cream in summer and protect ourselves from dry skin with vaseline in winter

bobistheboss · 25/02/2020 18:32

Soap and water, cucumber wipes, sunscreen and washing liquid which is unperfumed

sezz35 · 25/02/2020 18:37

sun cream in the summer!

PINKTEEGAN · 25/02/2020 18:46

we always use sun cream every day to keep our skin healthy

Digestive28 · 25/02/2020 18:52

All very fair and dry skin so lots of suncream, nice and gentle products to prevent irritation.

We don’t change for seasons but we do change for water type - we are in a soft water area and find we need different products to get same results when staying with family who have hard water.

sammylea80 · 25/02/2020 19:13

SPF even in the winter, I wish I had been slathered in it to stop these wrinkles!

amyhalliday1 · 25/02/2020 19:31

We use fragrance and oarsmen free where possible

Justinecbarnes · 25/02/2020 19:33

Our daughter has a genetic skin condition and is often covered in spots - at times looking like she has chicken pox. To help we cover her in dermol cream regularly then apply steroid cream to spots - which is also great for dealing with ours sons eczema within hours.
