Family skincare tips shared with La Roche-Posay

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Factor 50 sun tan lotion when out in the sun.

sarahm1234 · 25/02/2020 20:28

Suncream in the Summer, sudocream at nappy changes and Aveeno baby moisturiser after baths.

SSCRASE123 · 25/02/2020 20:47

Suntan lotion for holidays and getting them used to applying moisturiser in general.

Nivea do an amazing coconut spray body moisturiser thats light and great for quick application. Lightly spray the kids after drying them off from a bath, a quick rub down and done. It’s smells amazing it is great for all the family and our busy lives...or little ones that’s don’t stop still.

We use extra moisturiser in the winter months to stave off some eczema and dry skin patches. We also use high spf sun lotion when the summer sun comes ☀️

robyn297 · 25/02/2020 21:26

We try and moisturise every night after the bath, my daughter suffers from eczema, and we use her moisturiser as a soap when her skin is really bad.

LeeR1985 · 25/02/2020 21:29

We don't really do anything different to normal but my daughter does occasionally get dry hands so we just use some non-fragranced moisturiser :)

Dencop · 25/02/2020 21:36

Plenty of suncream and drink lots of water as well as only using as natural as possible on all the families skin.

Minnibix · 25/02/2020 21:52

We tend to use the same products all year round, just more/stronger sunscreen in Summer

MumC2141 · 25/02/2020 22:06

Keep it simple. Vaseline for lips, emollient cream for dry skin and sun cream in summer.

MrRichTea · 25/02/2020 22:23

moisturiser in winter, suncream in summer

Ganne1 · 25/02/2020 22:32

Take care and be attentive .. and remember the sun lotion whenever there's no snow about!

lhlee62 · 25/02/2020 22:57

I tend to use the same routine throughout the year, we don't change anything. The kids haven't got any issues, but I sometimes get very dry itchy skin so I get the moisturiser out.

rachelmccraith · 25/02/2020 23:11

I think to try and use gentle products, without any unnecessary added scents etc. And remember not everyone in the family is the same, so try different products if something doesn't agree with one person. Try and get samples of products online if you don't want to fork out on an entire product without knowing if it's right for you

KittyKat88 · 25/02/2020 23:37

I always try to use organic, natural products on my kids' skin as well as my own. I think that harsh chemicals can cause skin problems. I also avoid highly scented products for the same reason. When my girls get a blemish they use an aloe vera gel. Natural, eco, and organic products are kinder my family's skin, I believe.

libra101 · 26/02/2020 06:17

Both my son and I have slight skin problems, me psoriasis, my son eczema.

We use mainly natural, herbal products and keep away from anything scented. I use emollients when bathing and apply either Balneum or Aveena to problem areas.

It helps to keep skin irritations at bay.

dadshere · 26/02/2020 06:45

We have unperfumed moisturisers and use them on dd at night before bed. Without is she suffers from terrible dry skin

Nicole1709 · 26/02/2020 08:25

I love Elemis products, we all use them in my family to keep smelling lovely and soft skin.

RACHELSMITH45 · 26/02/2020 09:57

We always use a well rated sunscreen and plain fragrance free moisturiser in the Winter time.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 26/02/2020 13:04

Factor 50.for us all when the sun's out..

Hand cream / mosituriser for dry hands...

Non scented products for the DC...

katieskatie82 · 26/02/2020 14:09

i use coconut oil for moisturizing everyone's skin in the winter if it gets cracked and rough! It's amazing! I always make sure the family wears suntan lotion in the summer too to protect our skin!

mollymoo818 · 26/02/2020 14:31

I am so jealous of those people saying that they don't do anything differently throughout the year. My skin and the kids skin gets so dry in winter that we always start itching and getting sore skin and have to smother ourselves in a rich emollient type of cream.
In summer we all use sunscreen and the La Roche Posay Anthelios is fantastic and I always make sure and stock up when it is on a 3for2 because it is quite expensive buying it singularly.

AngelwingsPetlamb · 26/02/2020 15:21

As long as my dc is clean and washed I’m happy. He has sensitive skin so apart from sun cream I only use very light products for him, or child products.

merlymerly · 26/02/2020 16:25

The simplest the better - fragrance free but with an SPF
