This thread is now closed.

There’s no question that staycations are on the rise. And whether you’d consider one because they can be cheaper, easier with a large family, you want to appreciate the UK or simply because you can bring your dogs along too, Parkdean Resorts would like to hear about what your ideal UK staycation looks like.

Here’s what Parkdean Resorts has to say: “We are the UK’s largest Holiday Park operator with 67 locations in some of the most stunning coastal, countryside and lakeside locations. From the impressive Scottish Highlands to the sunny South Coast, a Parkdean Resorts holiday is a great way to explore the UK and discover your new favourite spot.

Adventurers can camp with their tent, touring caravan or even try Glamping. Or choose from a huge choice of caravans, lodges and hot tub lodges including brand new accommodation for 2020, to suit all budgets and family sizes packed with everything you need for a stress-free holiday. And with 66 parks offering dog friendly accommodation, you really can bring the whole family on your holiday.

Find the best choice of accommodation by booking early, with deposits from only £25. And, you can now spread the cost of your holiday in easy and affordable monthly Direct Debit payments. Perfect!”

Would you be looking for a beachside break for the whole family while hoping the British rain holds off or do you think a couples midweek retreat sounds like the perfect way to recharge your batteries? Where in the UK is next on your list to visit? If you already ‘staycation’ regularly, what do you enjoy about it?

All who share what their perfect UK break would look like on the thread below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Evening entertainment, good walks, dog friendly, indoor swimming pool, license premises and local attractions!

Mitcholiver · 30/01/2020 13:22

A place where the kids have safety and can be independent exploring and riding their bikes all day. We have booked a caravan holiday this summer where there is a pool and play area whilst being near the beach. The kids will love the freedom which which enable us all to enjoy a family holiday.

Vkinsify · 30/01/2020 13:34

Somewhere inclusive. With a child who is disabled, its not always easy finding somewhere that can accomodate her needs!

vickyg88 · 30/01/2020 13:36

My perfect UK break would be a cosy caravan in winter, on a nice and quiet site. Relaxing days with walks and good food. Bliss!

renas · 30/01/2020 13:36

A nice sandy, clean beach with lifeguards. Plenty of sun and a bit of shade too

ComptimusPrime · 30/01/2020 13:39

Country side, beautiful sunny weather. Lots of wildlife and birds. Beaches and sandy toes. Exploring, adventure and nature walks. Small towns and lovely little local pubs. Me and my partner, no stress.

Pajamadrama · 30/01/2020 13:41

I have a 2 year old and an 8 year old so if there is plenty to do on site that covers all ages that is bliss for us! Pools with slides, indoor and outdoor play areas and near a beach are also fab!
Oh and a nice shop on site that’s well stocked but not too expensive!

beckyinman · 30/01/2020 13:55

Exploring something really cool - there are so many amazing historical places in these shores that we don't celebrate enough. Plus some good food.

socat · 30/01/2020 13:56

City Break with loads to do / Nightlife when needing to let off steam!! City attractions / cinema / theatre / dining / good travel connections.

Beach town when wishing to wind-down. Like where less people around.

youkiddingme · 30/01/2020 14:01

Mine would be a stay somewhere on the coast where I can visit Scarborough, Whitby, flamborough and Bridlington to my hearts content. Proper old fashioned seaside towns and I love them.

gd2011 · 30/01/2020 14:10

Self catering family break by the sea with dogs welcome

mooota1514 · 30/01/2020 14:12

Entertainment on site to keep children happy. Beautiful scenery and accommodation not too cramped together Great eating options available as well.

BRILLBY · 30/01/2020 14:18

A luxury lodge to go back to after a day's walking in the countryside. Ideally no dogs around. Not far from amenities - restaurant, cafes.

RACHELSMITH45 · 30/01/2020 14:18

A lovely cosy lodge in the middle of nowhere with a hot tub..quality time away from the world with my favourite people.

WhiteKnuckleRide · 30/01/2020 14:22

We usually stay in a caravan in Weymouth which is lovely, but I'd really like to try an upgrade to a cabin with a hot tub!

lizd31 · 30/01/2020 14:32

Mine would be in the Lake District in a lovely lodge next to one of the lakes.

emmav6 · 30/01/2020 14:40

living in the midlands, we don't often get to be near the seaside. I love our holidays on the coach with activities for the children and somewhere to go swimming is a must!

MAForster · 30/01/2020 14:43

Well-equipped self-catering accommodation with easy access to the sea, the theatre and places of interest.

compy99 · 30/01/2020 14:44

A nice family holiday in villa in rural Italy would be very nice

scandroid · 30/01/2020 14:49

Clean and comfortable accommodation with lovely views. Easy access to walks nearby. Outdoor space. Not too close to other holidaymakers.

kellyroxannesmith · 30/01/2020 14:49

I would love a relaxing hot tub hideaway with my boyfriend. Relax for a few days would be ideal x

DD91 · 30/01/2020 14:49

Our perfect U.K. break is going to a caravan park we usually go twice a year our favourite park was Berwick but it can be a hassle on the train so now we go to Seton Sands we have the best time. We like a nice clean caravan and not being near a road we also like being close to the entertainment

AuFinch · 30/01/2020 14:56

Look we all hate it but no one will say it - we hate the people who think its ok to let their kids run ferral and not give a shit what they do, nor know what they are doing for hours and hours, even days on end while they get rat-arsed at the bar.

Lets get them chucked off site (but give the kids unlimited espresso coffee and eat 1kg of haribo just before they go).

Then that would make a perfect holiday.

imustbemadme · 30/01/2020 15:05

An apartment near the sea and not far from a city with historic places of interest. We prefer to be able to cook for ourselves and eat out now and again.

tab18 · 30/01/2020 15:22

As an outdoor family and with unpredictable weather we tend to leave UK holidays to the last minute and the latest forecast but look for somewhere with plenty to do and lots to explore. A pool is always a bonus and an indoor play area is useful too...but having all the family together is the most important
