Finding the time to look good and keep your wardrobe fresh can be tricky at the best of times, never mind when you’ve got your hands full with the various obstacles that life throws at you. Whether you’re trawling the high street or searching online, acquiring the right outfit for the right occasion can be a mission - and not always a successful one at that. With that in mind, Stitch Fix want to hear your tips and tricks for staying stylish when you’re pressured for time.

Here’s what Stitch Fix have to say:
"Stitch Fix takes the hard work out of shopping so that you can get back to what really matters, without sacrificing on style. After filling in a short online questionnaire, a Stylist hand-selects, just for you, pieces from the best established and emerging European brands. The selection is delivered straight to your door. Keep what works, return what doesn’t, simple as that!”

Do you have certain accessories you use to freshen up an outfit and make it look ‘new’? Or do you make a dash for the shops when you have a couple of hours free and hope for the best? Maybe you have a few key friends or relatives you can borrow clothes from at times of great need?

However you manage to stay stylish with limited time, post on the thread below and everyone who does will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I always go for navy blue when I want to feel good - I have tried to branch out & go for other fabrics & prints.. but I always go back to navy & it feels so good when I do :)
3/4 sleeves & a v-neck - maxi for summer with sandals & mid length for winter with tights & heeled boots - always a winner for me!
For variety - you can mix up a colourful scarf, statement necklace or earrings - it's easy to make the same outfit look new that way.

Have no interest in being stylish, just aim to be comfortable and wear clothes that make me feel good.

A nice coat! I can throw it over whatever scruffy clothes I am wearing.

A smart blazer jacket is a must for many occasions dress down with jeans and a shirt and necklace or a dress with a smart jacket, makes comfortless style

Dry shampoo works wonder for getting that quick non greasy look

chrissy53438 · 13/08/2019 20:28

Good hair and accessories can save an outfit. Having a baby who likes to grab fistfuls of hair, mine stays up all day. However, I twist it into a bun so that when I’m leaving the house I can tug out the hair and and have lovely waves that look like I’ve styled them.
Then something as simple as throwing on a pair of wedges with jeans, a leather backpack instead of the giant nappy bag or French tucking a t-shirt (Queer eye for the straight guy tip!) can make all the difference. Especially when you have a 30 minute window to actually leave the house before the baby needs to feed/poop/sleep!

don't go out :)

A Good haircut and a nice pair of shoes! Stick to a colour pallete and wear clothes that's fit you! No baggy cover ups!

clairemarthaw · 14/08/2019 15:46

Some statement jewellery and a pair of brightly coloured ballet pumps do the trick every time!

kmcomp4 · 14/08/2019 16:25

I like to keep things simple - with neutral colours ans classic shapes.

angiehoggett · 14/08/2019 16:37

put on a matching shoe and handbag combo and you'll instantly look pulled together

runkaterun · 14/08/2019 21:05

Always have a reserve outfit.

Doodygirl2009 · 15/08/2019 12:46

I wouldn’t say I’m stylish but I get ready before I get my kids up on the morning

TutsiFrutsi · 15/08/2019 13:44

No-iron clothes in crinkle fabrics. Scrunch them, roll them up, stuff them in a bag, dump them on a chair... they always come up perfect. Choose a patterned fabric, and it won't even show those odd little stains we always get!

ellie17 · 15/08/2019 17:01

bit of lipstick and a pretty scarf always makes me feel more polished when time is limited

DassDass · 15/08/2019 18:31

Red lipstick and hair in messy up-do always does the job

ustupidwoman · 15/08/2019 22:56

preparation the night before - every ironed, laid out - keep it simple - always wear statement jewellery/scarf to 'lift' the outfit

villagefox · 15/08/2019 23:49

I have three sisters and we often borrow clothes - it's like having three more wardrobes of choice!

rocketriffs · 16/08/2019 09:04

Silk scarves and a few accessories like a necklace, bangles or earrings.

cheryl100 · 16/08/2019 11:19

A blazer instantly smartens up any outfit!

DoAllMeerkatsComeFromRussia · 16/08/2019 18:27

Classic clothes in one colour are go to items for formal situations that can be accessorised differently each time to change or freshen up a look. I work from home and live in jeans or leggings in the winter and summer dresses or shorts/cutoff jeans in the summer, so formal situations don't come along that often. I'm not buying a new outfit every time when I won't get any wear out of it.

kkhimji · 16/08/2019 22:03

carry makeup on the fly

grannybiker · 16/08/2019 22:27

When I worked in a school, the staff had an unofficial uniform too.
A pair of stretchy black trousers and loose-fit / relaxed jacket, jazzed up with a colourful shirt.
Made life so much easier than all that wardrobe agonising when I worked in admin!
