Finding the time to look good and keep your wardrobe fresh can be tricky at the best of times, never mind when you’ve got your hands full with the various obstacles that life throws at you. Whether you’re trawling the high street or searching online, acquiring the right outfit for the right occasion can be a mission - and not always a successful one at that. With that in mind, Stitch Fix want to hear your tips and tricks for staying stylish when you’re pressured for time.

Here’s what Stitch Fix have to say:
"Stitch Fix takes the hard work out of shopping so that you can get back to what really matters, without sacrificing on style. After filling in a short online questionnaire, a Stylist hand-selects, just for you, pieces from the best established and emerging European brands. The selection is delivered straight to your door. Keep what works, return what doesn’t, simple as that!”

Do you have certain accessories you use to freshen up an outfit and make it look ‘new’? Or do you make a dash for the shops when you have a couple of hours free and hope for the best? Maybe you have a few key friends or relatives you can borrow clothes from at times of great need?

However you manage to stay stylish with limited time, post on the thread below and everyone who does will be entered into a prize draw where 1 MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Jeans and a T-Shirt, always works for me.

SoftBlocks · 09/08/2019 19:40

I have smart and ‘trendy’ outfits for best.
I also have a range of colours which suit me and I only wear these colours so all my clothes go together.

I have gradually developed a sense of what suits me (and what doesn’t!) and I stick to that.

Accessories and a shimmer lip balm.

sodrained · 09/08/2019 20:05

I use the 8hour miracle cream by Elizabeth Arden on days I don't want to wear makeup it makes me feel clean and tidy and on days where I can't be arsed to dress up too much I love a classic jumpsuit black jumpsuit, black open toe heels and a nice gold or rose gold simple necklace.

I find a quick brush of bronzer really brightens my face up and finishes my look

beckyinman · 09/08/2019 23:05

Scrape the hair up into a high ponytail - looks chic and yanks the wrinkles up!

abitoflight · 10/08/2019 01:34

Don't wear a pattern

claza93 · 10/08/2019 11:33

Skinny jeans and a white top work for me, Add a bit of red lippy and it can be turned into a day to night outfit! Great for a busy mum

joggingrunning · 10/08/2019 13:08

I make sure to buy classic pieces that are of good quality. So I don't end up having to replace items on a constant basis. Also accessories helps to style and change outfits. Just keep it simple and you can save money too.

I asked my hairdresser to show me an easy way to style my hair when it needed washing! She was great - with dry shampoo, a tiny bit of backcombing, & a hairband, I can look like I spent ages styling it when I don't have time to wash it!

Cataline · 10/08/2019 16:13

Inspired by when I'm on holiday and it's so easy to know what to wear as I've already put together all my outfits when I've packed, when I do the washing and ironing each weekend I also put aside some time to put together all the outfits I'll need for the week ahead.

These then go in a specific section of the wardrobe and each night, I pull out the outfit, add shoes, underwear and accessories and it's all ready to go on in the morning- no thought required when I'm also trying to juggle the hundred other things I need to do and remember before work!

jessicakaren · 10/08/2019 16:19

When I'm pressured for time I always find it easier to go for the t-shirt, skinny jeans, trainers/sandals and a scruffy bun. I don't think you can go wrong providing you're not going out for a meal at a top notch restaurant. It's pretty easy to jazz up the look with a cute scrunchie in your hair or a nice belt too.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 10/08/2019 16:22

Good scarves, a high end perfume and well looked after shoes/boots.

Futureplanning · 10/08/2019 16:41

It's all about planning, get everything out the night before, down to accessories, shoes and underwear, iron if necessary. Plus tidy hair, make up and nails!

amyhalliday1 · 10/08/2019 18:25

A bun always helps as does prepping a simple outfit the night before

LaaMoii · 10/08/2019 19:18

I always try to at least put a bit of lippy on and a pair of earrings which match another color that I’m wearing at a last minute dash to look decent!

farhanac · 11/08/2019 06:17

Yes, I think the right scarf can really elevate a look

DinosApple · 11/08/2019 09:21

Autumn/winter/spring a well cut coat - quick to sling on, smartens up any outfit.

Summer - dresses, classic styles rather than that season's hit.

mollymoo818 · 11/08/2019 12:34

Lot's of hats!
Plus a bit of red lippy makes all the difference even when I have no time to do the rest of my makeup the red lipstick just brightens up my face and makes me look as though I have made an effort even when I haven't.

jitterbugintomybrain · 11/08/2019 12:35

Wear black and use dry shampoo!

sm2012 · 11/08/2019 12:59

Accessories are great at dressing up an outfit or adding colour when pushed for time. I have a collection of necklaces and earrings which can change the look of a simple outfit. I also have a couple of fancier cardigans and jackets which go with lots of things.

vixxx666 · 11/08/2019 14:56

I don't really understand what stylish means? I don't have the natural inclination to know what styles are and what clothes go together. My clothes are the right size, clean and not full of holes so I think I do OK!

Sparklepants3 · 11/08/2019 15:49

My wardrobe is very much mix and match with most things able to go together so easy and quick to find something to wear.
Most of it is classic and black so I just wear a colourful scarf or some jewellery to brighten it up!

Minnibix · 11/08/2019 16:21

Hair up and killer heels always helps

poppypants · 11/08/2019 19:18

Have a good hair cut and team stylish pumps with legging and jeggings, and add stylish tops and cardigans!
