NOW CLOSED

Parenting isn’t easy. The pressures of daily life make it even trickier, never mind the ages of your children, or whether you're a stay-at-home mum or a working one. Anyone who's been stuck with a teen on a bad day or a toddler … on any day, will know that sometimes you just need to do whatever it takes to get by so you can hold onto your sanity for another day. Even if that means flexing your parenting methods from time to time.

Here’s what O2 has to say:
"#IsItAlright to let them use a tablet at breakfast? We hear you. Parenting is full of #IsItAlright questions, challenges and dilemmas. That’s why we’ve launched O2 Family, to bring advice, safety tools and kid-friendly offers to parents across the UK. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But hopefully we make it a little easier to navigate the everyday messy magic of family life."

So what does it take to break you and make you question your parenting prowess? Do you tell your children carrots are good for night vision so they eat their veggies? Always carry a packet of sweets to use as a bargaining chip when you’re out and about? Or do you volunteer to be seeker so you can sit on the sofa, eating crisps and shouting "I'm coming to get you!" every three minutes…?

Share the moments you've wondered #isitalright if …? and what drove you to it with O2 to be in with the chance to win a £300 voucher for the store of your choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

GriseldaChop · 25/07/2018 22:30

#isitalrightif I might have accidentally brought the iPad up just in case my 4 year old wakes up at 5:15 for the sixth day in a row? Such a bad mum! Blush

WarmHugs · 26/07/2018 11:57

#isitalright if I unplug the television at the wall, but then pretend that it’s broken? I don’t think they have even checked the plug!

UpOnDown · 26/07/2018 19:22

#isitalright to give them things they'd like to eat in this weather?

defineme · 26/07/2018 23:03

hdh747 · 27/07/2018 06:14

Elizasmum02 · 27/07/2018 06:32

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2018 06:37

I became a mum for the first time in January, and have had a LOT of these questions! Including 'is it alright if I put him in front of Tiny Pop for 10 minutes to keep him distracted while I sterilise a bottle or two?' I always feel so guilty for doing it, but sometimes needs must if he's having a clingy day!

#isitallrightif I say Santa is watching and he won't bring any presents this year if you don't behave and do everything mummy says

phillie1 · 27/07/2018 09:06

let them in the paddling pool when water is bit on the green side, and just tell them not to put head under

Yaracuy · 27/07/2018 09:08

Yes, when I am up to my nostrils...I tend to have a last conscious decision so I don't explode.
As we all know, life is hard and laws are made to be followed until they become obsolete.

I think that's a breaking point for all of us. Including and above all with parenting.

happysouls · 27/07/2018 09:12

#isitalright if my son eats nothing but cheese sandwiches for months?! I gave up with this and went with it as he was so very fussy. He occasionally would have soup but since I could get him to eat fruit and yogurt and bits of salad along with his cheese butties I didn't think it was the end of the world!

sallyhartley · 27/07/2018 09:39

#Isitalright to let my son play on his Nintendo switch for hours

MrRichTea · 27/07/2018 09:40

rutsan · 27/07/2018 10:15

Is it alright if i open a pack of sweets for my child before i pay for them so I can shop in peace?

vixxx666 · 27/07/2018 10:45

#IsItAlright to tell my child school grades aren't the most important thing in life?

shellywkd · 27/07/2018 10:54

#Isitalright to hide chocolate in the cupboard my child can't reach so I can binge at night when she is sleeping
