Parenting isn’t easy. The pressures of daily life make it even trickier, never mind the ages of your children, or whether you're a stay-at-home mum or a working one. Anyone who's been stuck with a teen on a bad day or a toddler … on any day, will know that sometimes you just need to do whatever it takes to get by so you can hold onto your sanity for another day. Even if that means flexing your parenting methods from time to time.

Here’s what O2 has to say:
"#IsItAlright to let them use a tablet at breakfast? We hear you. Parenting is full of #IsItAlright questions, challenges and dilemmas. That’s why we’ve launched O2 Family, to bring advice, safety tools and kid-friendly offers to parents across the UK. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But hopefully we make it a little easier to navigate the everyday messy magic of family life."

So what does it take to break you and make you question your parenting prowess? Do you tell your children carrots are good for night vision so they eat their veggies? Always carry a packet of sweets to use as a bargaining chip when you’re out and about? Or do you volunteer to be seeker so you can sit on the sofa, eating crisps and shouting "I'm coming to get you!" every three minutes…?

Share the moments you've wondered #isitalright if …? and what drove you to it with O2 to be in with the chance to win a £300 voucher for the store of your choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

#isitalright if I tell them that when the alarm movement sensors flash red it means Santa is watching? Too late I already have Wink

Is it alright to let them watch tv so I can have a cup of tea in peace

WowOoo · 29/09/2018 15:58

I've told mine that it is bedtime when it was way earlier than bedtime. It doesn't work now they can tell the time. Shame.

Is it alright to feed them a packed lunch for dinner. Some nights I just have no energy!

#Isitallright when I tune out in the middle of a long, long story about this really funny thing which Katie said to Sophie at break which goes on for 20 minutes? (and which wasn't funny at all)

DS has high functioning ASD and will only be happy doing some things in certain ways. For example, he only drinks from s shop bought single use water bottles. At first I tried to fight this and felt like a failed. Now I, however just buy some bottles and refill from the tap when DS doesn't see.

His biggest and only interest are computers and computer games. I still often battle with my conscious about the amount of screen time he has but then I remembered that it's probably ok

#Isitalright to give them a pot noodle for dinner once in a while.

#isitalrightif I give in to the demands of my toddler and let a16mo eat pringles from the tube to get 5 minutes of peace? 😂

Awoof · 03/10/2018 22:17

#is it alright to 'suggest' certain cartoons because I secretly love singing the theme tune? spongebobrules

Is it alright to limit the kids time on the Xbox when I don't limit my own time? Lead by example!

Is it alright to leave my son sleeping on the floor because if I move him he will wake up?

Is it alright to slowly let the DC starve themselves by giving them healthy meals every day, that they turn their noses up at, in the hope they eventually give in and become model healthy food eaters?!

Is it alright to leave my DC screaming because the most likely scenario is that they are exaggerating to get the other into trouble and the actual risk of physical harm having been caused is very unlikely?
