This activity is now closed

The summer holidays are filled with busy days spent navigating heaving soft play centres, staging obstacle courses around the garden, finding new reasons for why, no, your child can not have another ice cream - and generally throwing your all in to avoiding the dreaded moans of ‘I’m bored’. But when the kids are worn out and have (finally) been shipped off to bed, it’s time for parents to relax. With a range of new films, on demand and ready whenever you are, Sky Cinema is there to help you recharge this summer, and to celebrate we would love to know your tips for a perfect cosy night in.

Do you like to finally make the time to catch up on those new releases that you missed in the cinema, like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Justice League? Or maybe the perfect evening is spent with a glass of wine in hand, preparing a delicious slap up meal for two? Perhaps you use the few hours of peace to relax with a serious at-home pamper session - cucumber eye mask and all.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “Sky Cinema, the dedicated home for movie lovers. Enjoy unlimited movies on demand, from the biggest blockbusters to much loved family favourites. With something for everyone this summer, Sky Cinema is ready whenever you are.”

However you spend your perfect night in, post it on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Once DC are in bed me & DH like to catch up on 'our' TV - usually a box set (currently the latest series of Homeland!). Often snuggled up, snacks & drinks to hand - enjoying the relative peace!

Getting my pjs on, snuggling on the sofa and catching up with some tv

sm2012 · 09/07/2018 14:14

Takeaway, film, chocolate or popcorn and a glass of wine :)

spottypjs · 09/07/2018 14:16

Pjs on, takeaway and a movie on the tv or a good binge worthy series!

Sid98 · 09/07/2018 14:20

Snacks and watching TV

HowsAnnie25 · 09/07/2018 14:47

Our perfect evening is in the garden with tapas and a bottle of wine, then in for a film and a snuggle on the sofa. Maybe some popcorn and ice cream too!

I lost my husband to cancer so cosy nighs in tend to just focus on me and the kids so its either watching a movie with pop corn or family games or if kids on sleep overs its sitting in gaden watching the wildlife we are lcuky enough to live around a beauitful national park so beauitful views and all sorts of while life and sounds of a lake.

lizd31 · 09/07/2018 15:11

All the girls round for a girlie night & watching my all time favourite film, The Lost Boys which has absolutely everything including the most amazing soundtrack

Elizasmum02 · 09/07/2018 15:44

feet up movie and popcorn with chocolate, bliss

frances93 · 09/07/2018 15:44

No kids, always guarantee that if me and oh want a cosy night in our dd will cry endlessly or wake up half way through a snuggle on the sofa. We normally cosy up on the sofa watch the tv or film, order a takeaway and stock up on snacks to pick on throughout the evening

liz1970 · 09/07/2018 15:49

A lovely meal cooked by my partner and I, then we would watch a great film :)

sezz35 · 09/07/2018 16:13

PJ's on, good film/box set, chocolate and a glass of wine!

vickyors · 09/07/2018 16:19

We relax by drinking wine and watching a film- if it's just us! We rent something- either from our sky box or iTunes..

If we're with the kids, we use a film on a sunday afternoon, when they're shattered and need to chill before the week starts. Our kids are only 5 and 2, so it's usually animated, and we love Disney, and we cannot wait for Incredibles 2! It's good that now cartoon based films have humour for us, though- and we all cuddle up on the sofa and have family time. Love it.

JoJoY · 09/07/2018 16:22

My cosy night in would involve the kids being in bed, the curtains drawn, film on and lots of yummy snacks to eat.

cathwarbur · 09/07/2018 16:47

Watching our favourite films or out in the garden

AnimalAddict · 09/07/2018 16:49

A box set, takeaway and lots of wine! :)

MSHGW · 09/07/2018 17:05

Films and snacks. Always a winner.

Emilygage1982 · 09/07/2018 17:15

A box set, pizza and a few beers

TammySwansonTwo · 09/07/2018 17:20

Ooh, let’s see...

  • A film neither of us have seen that we both agree on (not as easy as it sounds)
  • Super comfortable sofa is a must
  • A giant Chinese takeaway that would probably feed six
  • Brand new pyjamas

The sad part is, this isn’t just my ideal night in, it’s my ideal night full stop. Clearly I’m getting very old.

MrRichTea · 09/07/2018 17:25

Wine, Takeaway, Candles, Mood Lighting, Movie, Snuggles

alabaster002 · 09/07/2018 17:32

An undemanding film, a good bottle of wine and, most of all, a loved one!

towser44 · 09/07/2018 17:52

Get the grandparents booked for child care, plenty of wine in the fridge and the curry house on speed dial!
