This activity is now closed

The summer holidays are filled with busy days spent navigating heaving soft play centres, staging obstacle courses around the garden, finding new reasons for why, no, your child can not have another ice cream - and generally throwing your all in to avoiding the dreaded moans of ‘I’m bored’. But when the kids are worn out and have (finally) been shipped off to bed, it’s time for parents to relax. With a range of new films, on demand and ready whenever you are, Sky Cinema is there to help you recharge this summer, and to celebrate we would love to know your tips for a perfect cosy night in.

Do you like to finally make the time to catch up on those new releases that you missed in the cinema, like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Justice League? Or maybe the perfect evening is spent with a glass of wine in hand, preparing a delicious slap up meal for two? Perhaps you use the few hours of peace to relax with a serious at-home pamper session - cucumber eye mask and all.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “Sky Cinema, the dedicated home for movie lovers. Enjoy unlimited movies on demand, from the biggest blockbusters to much loved family favourites. With something for everyone this summer, Sky Cinema is ready whenever you are.”

However you spend your perfect night in, post it on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

We love movie nights! Pick a movie

  • usually it's one we love and watch a lot but sometimes a new one. Popcorn, pjs and light off!
lulumajor · 09/07/2018 11:07

A takeaway, some wine and a good film

We love a good family movie night. Bring all the duvets down, we set them up on the floor, push the sofas back, add in all the cushions/pillows we can find and get cosy with plenty of munchies and drinks (which we bring into the lounge so no one has to move)

A good box set, a nice meal and a glass or 2 of wine

mo3733 · 09/07/2018 11:32

a couple of films, a glass of wine, some nibbles

vixxx666 · 09/07/2018 12:02

On a Friday after dinner the kids get a couple of hours on their iPads in their bedroom. Gives me a chance to wash up and then sit down and catch up on TV I've missed during the week! A bar of chocolate and a can of Dr Pepper finishes it off perfectly!

tiddles12 · 09/07/2018 12:07

Lots of popcorn, pizza, ice cream, floor cushions, good family comedies, and friends in PJs

AuFinch · 09/07/2018 12:24

seriously, i would ring up my mother and sisters the day before and spend a minimum of 2 hours on the phone - that way they will leave you alone for the night in! hee hee.

I dont order takeaways much, but for special occasions i will, and i like to have plenty of nibbles. The doggie needs a good walk before hand and he needs treats too, and if its cold we get out lots of warm blankets and cushions to snuggle into, pop on the lava lamp and turn off the lights ready for the film!

Funkyferret · 09/07/2018 12:28

If it's a night in with the kids, get clever. Have an energetic day, have a fun dinner (homemade pizzas always go down well, and everybody helps), then choose a film that the kids can sing and dance their way through. After all that, hopefully they'll be out like a light and it's time to curl up on the sofa with a film you really want to see plus snacks and a glass of wine!

Narnianescape · 09/07/2018 12:30

Just go with the flow.

janeyf1 · 09/07/2018 12:35

Feet up with a good film, lots of popcorn, a few drinks and a good chat

brownhandbag · 09/07/2018 12:46

I love an old familiar box set, something like Buffy or Friends, easy to watch and relax, not too taxing

socat · 09/07/2018 12:59

Family movie (or Horror if on own LOL) and lovely treats. (toffee popcorn, crisps, choc and pop!) Take-away if not in mood to cook!!! If can tempt, drag the Scrabble or Monopoly out!

BristolMum96 · 09/07/2018 13:00

Time to relax when kids are in bed? Don't think so! When they're in bed that's time to catch up on the endless cleaning and life organisation.

Home made food, Dvd and a comfortable chair

Yaracuy · 09/07/2018 13:03

A home made meal, a dvd and a comfortable chair.

sallyhartley · 09/07/2018 13:16

first thing is to give the bed a change of sheets.this is on your mind during your comfy night as something to look forward to, lovely clean sheets.change into pjs, order a take away, and line up something good to watch on tv or a dvd

glennamy · 09/07/2018 13:36

A warm lounge, a nice drink and some chocs and either a film or box set to watch on the tv!

APJ1 · 09/07/2018 13:38

Pyjamas on, in front of the TV with something really easy to watch, and a big bar of chocolate!

Emmax12 · 09/07/2018 13:43

A cosy night in would be pyjamas, takeaway and having already have decided on what we are going to watch, otherwise we waste too much time deciding

prwilson · 09/07/2018 13:48

A glass of wine and some good company and conversation.

BL0SS0M · 09/07/2018 13:48
