The summer holidays are filled with busy days spent navigating heaving soft play centres, staging obstacle courses around the garden, finding new reasons for why, no, your child can not have another ice cream - and generally throwing your all in to avoiding the dreaded moans of ‘I’m bored’. But when the kids are worn out and have (finally) been shipped off to bed, it’s time for parents to relax. Do you like to finally make the time to catch up on those new releases that you missed in the cinema, like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Justice League? Or maybe the perfect evening is spent with a glass of wine in hand, preparing a delicious slap up meal for two? Perhaps you use the few hours of peace to relax with a serious at-home pamper session - cucumber eye mask and all.

A clean fresh smelling house, a willing participant, some approrpiate mood music, good oral hygiene and no fear of being interrupted.

Nice and simple. Baby asleep upstairs and me and hubby snuggled on sofa with some chocolate ice cream and a blockbuster movie

Comfy clothes, cryptic crossword, sofa, telly (not too taxing).

Box set. Snacks. DH. Loads of cushions. Phones and tablets put away.

Sitting by the nice warm fireside,
when its snowing heavens high,
A great film , a heap of kids and pets ,
my man and a contented sigh

Candles, warm bath, pj's, duvet, DVD, chocolate and wine.

A hot bath, PJ's, good food (takeaway or big bowl of popcorn!) and a good chick flick, disney movie or epic box set!

Candle lit, decent bottle of red wine, popcorn and a family film.
Then, when the kids are in bed, more wine and a coupke of episodes of really good drama box set e.g. Homeland

no electronic devices/screens, candles or soft lighting, gentle music

Being outside in th garden with a fire, good company and good food!

food, family, dimmed lights and the perfect movie - that's the perfect recipe for a cosy night in. Cushions and throws in the chillier months too.

Bottle of wine and watching a film that's an old favourite which I haven't seen for a while.

Get rid of husband, get in the haagen dazs and watch in bed.

Cosy nights are my forte. particularly in the winter! I get blankets, cushions, snacks and hot chocolate (and also lots of wine). Then we'll bundle on the sofa under the blanket, turn the lights out and stick a film on

Perfect night in has my feet up, anything else is a bonus

I like to read a book or put a film on and just wind down after a busy day

All phones off - takeaway pizza ordered - PJs on - glass of wine for dh and I and a film the whole family can watch together

a good family film to watch with lots of yummy snacks. All on the sofa with the duvet over us! x

Netflix, beer, and nuts

We tend to all sit on the sofa together with a load of chocolate and watch a family friendly movie.

Sofa to myself, box set or movie, glass of wine and a takeaway curry.

Something good on TV, delicious food and drink, and PJs on!

Our cosy night in would be pizza ,bottle of wine and a fab film.

Now: toddler in bed, baby asleep on human matress aka mum or dad. If dad I get to do some craft like a big sticker book or cross stitch or latch hook. If I'm snuggling the baby I get to pick tv (normally a box set) and mn and play games on tablet with my free arm!

Before kids: online gaming after meal out.

Treat drinks and snacks - for me nonalcoholic wine and dark chocolate, a snuggly sofa blanket, DH, and a good movie or tv series
