NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I manage to get most stains out with various methods, but for me it is grass stains on knees, and tomato based pasta sauces, they require soaking, scrubbing stain removers and 2 or 3 washes, my go to stain remover is a squirt of hair spray (mad I know) and stain remover and a full 30 degree wash with a good detergent - fairy usually does the trick !

Grass and stains are such a pain to remove

OneAndDoneForNow · 30/06/2018 15:30

MeAndTheMajor · 30/06/2018 15:38

Definitely not scared of stains but food grease is my nemesis. I can never shift it clothes.

Surpriseeggsforbreakfast · 30/06/2018 16:46

Curry stains are a nightmare! The oil and turmeric never seems to come out.

sleepyducks · 30/06/2018 18:51

Anything my daughter eats that is tomato based seems to stain ☹️

SparkleTwilight · 30/06/2018 19:12

Ribena! My 3 year old toddler has autism and currently only drinks blackcurrant ribena. I can never seem to wash away the stains.

kateandme · 30/06/2018 21:34

tea.how do I always dribble it down the side of the mug onto my shirt!

del2929 · 30/06/2018 21:42

food stains- ice cream- ice lollies , tomoto sauce to name a few

Lyn29 · 30/06/2018 23:07

I used to be scared of oil, sauce, grass stains but the new one at the moment is slime. Some come out with ease on a high wash and some it doesn't matter what I use or how high I wash it in the washing machine it just won't budge!!! Whenever my daughter plays with it I ask her to put some old clothes on as it just seems to ruin everything she wears. Also when she collects dandelions for her guinea pigs in her pockets the stains take AGES to come out!!! Any tips??

gunnergirl · 01/07/2018 01:11

Lily pollen if it gets on your clothes a nightmare to remove

FogCutter · 01/07/2018 07:01

Orange pollen from lollies
Tomato and curry based sauces
Grass stains

diodati · 01/07/2018 08:53

Oil paint

Kleinzeit · 01/07/2018 10:22

Sun cream. Discolours everything, white things permanently.

KarenCBC · 01/07/2018 10:36

Baby poo and blood. The only two things that need extra attention before the wash or else you’re stuck with them!!

ThenBellaDidSomethingVeryKind · 01/07/2018 11:04

It’s a dead heat between curry sauces (those with turmeric in them) and sun cream

bamalam · 01/07/2018 12:22

Another vote for blood! I get little bloodspots on everything after injecting as a type one diabetic. Rubbish. So many clothes ruined!

mangocoveredlamb · 01/07/2018 14:13

Sun cream.
Used boots once a day stufff. Everything is covered in orangey brown stains.

FinallyHere · 01/07/2018 14:50

I am concerned for the future of the world, our country and my family, not necessarily in that order

I feel no fear in the face of stains. HTH.

BIWI · 01/07/2018 16:30

FFS @JustineBMumsnet - did you really write this OP? Do you really think that we're all such twee, little, housebound women that we'd be frightened of stains?

How much more patronising could you be?

FinallyHere · 01/07/2018 16:50

@BIWI Hmm

FinallyHere · 01/07/2018 16:51

Oh, @BIWI I am absolutely supporting you, my Hmmis for the OP

myusernameisnotmyusername · 01/07/2018 17:22

Whiteboard marker! My dd regularly comes home with blotches of it on her white polo shirt. Juice from oranges and tomatoes.

BIWI · 01/07/2018 18:04

I did wonder @FinallyHere

OfIceAndFire · 01/07/2018 18:41

Red sauces.
