NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

It's blood for me. My Daughter cut her finger a few weeks back, and not only did it manage to get onto all her clothes, towels and soft furnishing, it was up the walls and on the ceiling (how a 6 year old manages to get blood on the ceiling is still a mystery to me!) After preparing to take her to A&E, (I thought her finger was going to drop off), I cleaned it up best I could. It was less than the size on a papercut! It looked like there had been a massacre in my house, or some some or human sacrifice...

School's blackboard marker pens on shirts and jumpers of my 3 boys. Nothing short of burning the said attire will get rid. Tried everything from neat bleach to several stain remover sprays etc. Feel like suing the school Grin

My daughter's school age and past the dread sick/overflowing nappy/baby dribble stages. My dreads of stains now are tomato pasta sauce and curry...especially as her taste in clothes and due to class mate acceptance, means she wears the current branded sportswear which I'd rather not be stained or ruined....too expensive to replace.

Grass is my nightmare stain to remove unfortunately my little boy loves football, but has 2 left feet .The clothes are either ruined or used for play as the stains are very hard to remove.

EsmeeMerlin · 29/06/2018 14:58

Ice lollies, I made the mistake of letting ds1 have a strawberry one in his white school polo shirt, it’s still faintly there.

Also tomato pasta sauce, much easier to just strip the child’s top off for dinner than deal with the resulting stains.

We've just started weaning, so everything!! But particularly carrot, stains everything 🤦🏽‍♀️

kungfupidge · 29/06/2018 17:32

felt tip it's a nightmare getting rid of that stain especially on white school shirts xx

mummyofcutetwo · 29/06/2018 17:50

Korma sauce. At Christmas last year I bought the tea towel from school with my 5yo’s Christmas card design on it. Unfortunately it came into contact with korma sauce on its first day and has been stained since :(

WowOoo · 29/06/2018 17:53

Spaghetti bolognese is a pain if it's been left on for a while.

Flapdoodles · 29/06/2018 18:00

Any tomato based foods such as spaghetti bolognaise, I'm not sure why but this refuses to wash out. Also whiteboard pen marks on school shirts - I have thrown many shirts away as the pen just doesn't wash out.

TweetleBeetlesBattle · 29/06/2018 20:01

Oil, bolognaise sauce, factor 50 suncream....all impossible to shift

charliehmm · 29/06/2018 20:32

Grass skids, mud (from football match), bolognaise sauce, anything tomato based!

mummy81 · 29/06/2018 20:34

Fresh mango stains! I always have to watch the kids when. They eat it so if there is a spill i can wipe it straight away else the stain never leaves!

user1475609541 · 29/06/2018 20:34

White board pens, normally 2nd day of a new term, new shirts ruined and there to stay for the whole academic year.

Stevens4 · 29/06/2018 21:43

Those faint yellow stains that appear from using underarm deodorants and the faint collar grime line on white school shirts that we can never completely get out.

katiewalters · 29/06/2018 22:47

Mud on white clothing, and also felt tip pens

sarahja99 · 29/06/2018 23:27

Suncream

zoemellor · 30/06/2018 00:11

Poonami! My child was lactose intolerant and it would go everywhere! Now they are older we have issues with pens, suncream marks, sauce, chewing gum (from School - grrr) - from the hubby - who’s a maintenance man it’s paint, plaster - basically anything dirty or grubby! He’s worse than the kids lol 😂

MiddleMoffat · 30/06/2018 00:13

Mashed Banana and sun cream, together.

I challenge you to that Fairy!

lizwha · 30/06/2018 00:41

Putty or slime or similar....has eventually come out but left a greasy stain in daughter's dress!

Mewithane · 30/06/2018 07:03

Definitely whatever kind of felt tip pens are used at school. No matter what I use it won't budge. Never mind the apron I provided at the start of the year! It can be one day after a new shirt/summer dress has been purchased and it will be covered and no amount of scrubbing, stain remover will rid me of my nemesis!

WipsGlitter · 30/06/2018 07:33

Fat spatters from cooking. So annoying and impossible to get out!!

Faceyface · 30/06/2018 07:49

Rubbed in dirt, rolling down hills etc
