Which stains do you worry about most? Find out what Mumsnet users told Fairy Non Bio

NOW CLOSED

It’s inevitable that clothes sometimes end up dirty and stained, and though you may have handy tips and tricks for removing stains, there might be some that fill you with dread. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the stains that you’re most scared of.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We never want people to be afraid of wearing the clothes they love in case it gets stained. It’s our job to help. We want to know what are the really devilish stains that never seem to budge”.

Do you struggle with mud stains? Maybe your child wiping their hands down their clothes after eating greasy food fill you with dread? Perhaps baby poo stains are your nemesis? Or maybe it’s a spilt glass of wine that you worried may never come out?

Whatever the stains you’re most scared of, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

for me it is pureed carrot - when my DS sneezed whilst having his lunch and peppering my white blouse, it took me several washes with various stain removers before it faded enough to wear the blouse again.

Mrsramsayscat · 28/06/2018 08:39

Who the hell is scared of stains? What rubbish.

StableGenius · 28/06/2018 10:32

Heavy blood stains seems to be the obvious answer...

headinhands · 28/06/2018 10:45

Scared of a stain? Ectoplasm maybe. Why would a fully formed adult be scared of a mark on clothing?

Ladygaggia · 28/06/2018 14:05

Not scared of stains, unless they appear in demonic shapes on ceilings...

Joking aside, I struggle with blood and grease stains.

Especially those that aren't treated immediately

Alfwood · 28/06/2018 17:11

Raspberry or baby poo on white clothes are a nightmare.

user1495807524 · 28/06/2018 17:38

I remember baby poo being a hard stain to remove.

Fuckedoffat48b · 28/06/2018 17:53

Red wine. Has cost us an awful lot on stain removal.

melissagabrielle · 28/06/2018 18:04

Pollen, grass, tomato and blood!

libra101 · 28/06/2018 18:28

I hate oil and grease stains, also red wine stains.

Our little dog also enjoys a certain brand of treat, which - if he eats too much - he throws up on the carpet. The red colour refuses to budge, and I've stopped buying the treats.

OrdinaryGirl · 28/06/2018 18:45

Echoing others' comments about Fairy's interesting choice of words... the world is basically on fire - I'm scared about several things. Strangely none of them are laundry stains. 🤔
Tomato based sauces are a pain. Ditto curry.

angell74 · 28/06/2018 19:12

The yellow stains you get on whites - mostly around the necks and arms. I think that it might be from sunscreen.

finova · 28/06/2018 19:54

Banana and avocado
Cumin and turmeric

The sun will bleach most other things.

jacqui5366 · 28/06/2018 19:57

Any tomato based pasta sauce is a nightmare to get out for me, so its a soak, a squirt of stain remover, a colour catcher and a 40 degree wash. The when the cricket season start - grass stains on the knees of the whites - I can never get my cricket 'whites' white - any tips gratefully received.

sharond101 · 28/06/2018 19:58

Pens. So many white school shorts with black pen marks on.

1moreRep · 28/06/2018 20:24

sun cream and oil

CES82 · 28/06/2018 20:29

Curry - I manage to get it to fade, rather than to shift it fully.

Pixiepops · 28/06/2018 20:41

Anything with tomato! Soup, pasta sauces and ketchup are all hard to shift. As are some curries, (probably the tomato based ones!).

MrsFogi · 28/06/2018 21:05

For the love of God please don't assume that women/mothers are "scared" of stains - that is frankly ridiculous. I'm scared about the economic consequences of Brexit, I am scared about the implications of self-identification becoming enshrined in law, etc. NOT stains. I'm not delighted when I get a stain on something that has cost a fortune but I have a bash at removing it and then get on with more interesting things in my life.

babybrainusedtobesmart · 28/06/2018 21:29

I'm deliberately not giving my baby any purred containing blackberry or blueberry! I can't deal with the aftermath!

Quietvoiceplease · 28/06/2018 22:07

Tomato based sauces or oil stains.
Whatever it is that is on the sole of my DDs white school socks - they are permanently grey-brown from about the second wear.

figelnarage · 28/06/2018 23:33

🍌

Tefiti2 · 28/06/2018 23:35

Pesto and bolognaise! Mud on white socks is really annoying, too.

Montydoo · 29/06/2018 06:57

Peanut butter, because of the oil, mustard is a nightmare, and the mother of all stains is chicken tikka curry sauce, all of these require a couple of washes, a good dose of stain remover and a long 40 degree wash.

Sleepysausage · 29/06/2018 07:01

Chocolate ice cream! I've managed to remove every other stain from my 2yr olds clothes but chocolate ice cream stains will not budge!
