Laundry can be a surprisingly personal thing - whether you have a special way of hanging out your clothes or a foolproof way of getting your clothes to smell great. With this in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear what you consider the most important when it comes to laundry, and what you’d love your laundry detergent to do.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “We have some people tell us that scent is the key to a great wash, others who won’t compromise of softness or those who are all about natural ingredients or the gentleness of the formula. We would love to know what you just cannot not go without?”

Do you focus on getting rid of any odour from your clothes? Perhaps it’s important to you that your laundry products are skin-friendly for the entire family? Maybe you put a lot of energy into keeping your clothes in great condition? Are you a lover of fabric conditioner, keen to ensure that your clothes are all super soft?

Whatever the most important aspect of laundry is to you, share this on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Ease!
At this time of year I love linen garments- riiiiight up to the point I have to iron the bloomin' things. Choosing clothes that are easy to care for cuts down on a lot of time and effort.

I like detergents that can be used effectively at lower temperatures (30-40 degrees) and drying out on the line for fresher clothes and lower electricity bills (ok, so we don't have a drier so in winter there's a lot of clothes over radiators!)

Emptying pockets !!!!!!
Separating colours !!!!
Remembering to take it out the machine before it starts to smell

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 14/06/2018 22:18

Separating whites from colours because there's nothing worse than grey school shirts or grubby looking white t-shirts.

There was a mum at the DC's primary school whose entire family wore a lot of clothing like Boden , Joules, Monsoon etc but because she clearly never separated any washing their clothes were always tired and dirty looking.

Clean, comfortable and smelling nice and fresh.

shunshine · 14/06/2018 22:44

I really like my whites to be bright. I’m also very fussy about the fragrance.

Teresa11 · 14/06/2018 23:51

Most important aspect is being clean

Murderino · 15/06/2018 06:25

Natural ingredients/formula is really important. Hate the thought of constantly using harsh chemicals.

I have a messy two year old who stains his clothes several times a day after meal-times and snacking. The most important thing for me, therefore, is to ensure that all food stains come out of his clothes. This can be surprisingly difficult to achieve, even when using leading detergents and washing at a higher temperature. I like to use fabric conditioner to leaves clothes smelling nice and in the summer, I enjoy putting clothes out to dry in the garden... it's one of the only household chores I don't tire of.

abitoflight · 15/06/2018 08:48

Most important is stain removal and smell removal
Bio powder for me with added oxy stuff for white loads

dadshere · 15/06/2018 09:46

Obviously actually having clean clothes is the most important, but after that Iowuld say that a non-allergenic wash is most important for us.

blackheartsgirl · 15/06/2018 12:46

Clean and fresh smelling here too. Yes to the tissues in pockets, it's annoying.

valbuk · 15/06/2018 12:50

I like my washing to be stain free, properly clean and fresh smelling

tubbyj · 15/06/2018 13:34

clean and stain free most important great to get a line dry for a cleaner smell

cather · 15/06/2018 14:48

Most important is soft clothes and then scent

Jocelynne123 · 15/06/2018 18:53

A nice smell is the most important to me. I love using a fabric softener and then line drying. I always try to wash at cooler temperatures xx

cinabar · 15/06/2018 21:24

It is the correct packing of the heated clothes horse. Towels should be stretched out, and undies kept together!

IWouldBeSuperb · 15/06/2018 21:26

Suitable for sensitive skins and a clean, fresh, long-lasting scent!

princesssmitheee · 15/06/2018 21:28

A nice fragrance and soft on the skin

HowDoYouPronounceJohn · 15/06/2018 21:30

Not really a fan of anything that leaves a noticeable scent. My preference is also for non-bio, although can't remember why now.. Maybe cos it's meant to be better for people with dry skin..? Also like to spend as little as possible, so unless there's some sort of clearance offer or voucher, we always buy store brands (Tesco or Wilko).

MerryMarigold · 15/06/2018 21:51

The most important thing to me is maintaining the colour of the clothes and that dirty clothes like underwear are clean. Skin sensitivity is also important as one of my children has eczema and can only tolerate fairy non bio in powder form (liquid aggravates as do other brands). I use biological on adult washing. I sort my wash a. By children vs adult and then b. By colour. I have whites, darks, light colours and reds/ yellows/ oranges.

mummymermaid · 15/06/2018 22:05

They need to smell nice and I want the smell to last for a long time!

NeverTwerkNaked · 15/06/2018 23:09

I really just want stuff to come out clean!
Oh and to not irritate my children’s skin (they both have very sensitive skin)

jcyclops · 16/06/2018 00:13

Clean and as little smell as possible. With some detergents the smell is so overpowering that I have been known to use a second rinse and spin.

NotMeNoNo · 16/06/2018 01:50

Important : cleans effectively, no skin reaction, no overpowering scent, doesn't fade colours.

jbiscuits · 16/06/2018 07:06

Important: things that clean both stains and smells, sensitive on skin, and price!
