Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

A robot housekeeper that could do the laundry for me.

AngelwingsPetlamb · 13/03/2018 11:11

A washing machine that could wash king size quilts and a drier that could dry them.
A steamer for getting creases out of clothes and curtains and a drying rack.
Lots of plug sockets and really long leads on appliances like irons, steamers etc.
Lots of non marking clothes pegs, a dehumidifier for drying instead of the tumbl3 drier or outside.
A nice big cupboard to keep all the washing liquids etc tidy.
A sink with hot and cold water for delicate hand wash items.

A press for my clothes, or a laundry maid to do it all for me

PickAChew · 13/03/2018 11:21

2 washers, 2 dryers, plenty of cupboards, shelves and hanging space and someone other than me to do it all.

SoupDragon · 13/03/2018 11:21

In my Dream Laundry Room would be a laundry fairy who collects all the dirty clothes, washed and ironed them and put them away. All with no input from me.

TheCakeIsNotALie · 13/03/2018 11:23

I'd love a laundry room and in my dream house I would love two washing machines. One large one for big loads and a small for small loads. A very strong dryer and a large tumble one, lots of counter space for folding. Lots of cupboard space with shelves to keep the various detergents, stain removers etc and a fold down ironing board.

BL0SS0M · 13/03/2018 11:26

My dream laundry room would have two washing machines two dryers and enough space for an ironing board and hanging space and a place for lost socks!

mo3733 · 13/03/2018 11:28

at least three washing machines to cope with the demand of my family

MillyVanilli222 · 13/03/2018 11:41

A brand new washer and a tumble dryer would be nice - I prefer to tumble dry than air dry as our washing seems never ending. And a handy cupboard stocked with Fairy Non-Bio, of course!

CoffeeOrSleep · 13/03/2018 11:59

Obviously a wee person who did all the laundry for me...

Failing that, already have separate washer and dryer in mine, plus sink that is very useful for things that need soaking first, only change would it could be big enough to iron in there, possibly some shirt hanging space.

nettymay · 13/03/2018 12:01

I would love a laundry room with an 'Alexa' - I just call out "Alexa please do the washing" Alexa please do the ironing "Alexa please put the beautiful laundered items away" when you have finished you can cook the evening meal - "No Alexa thats not fair - have a rest!" IF ONLY!

freedomofspeech · 13/03/2018 12:03

Probably a maid who lived in there!! :D

andywedge · 13/03/2018 12:05

Nothing; it would be empty because it's all been done

iut044 · 13/03/2018 12:08

plenty of storage space to keep the room tidy

janeyf1 · 13/03/2018 12:11

To have a laundry room at all would be wonderful - at the moment it is just a lounge diner with a noisy washing machine in the same room. A separate laundry room containing a top of the range extra quiet washer dryer and room for a clothes horse would be perfect

CarefullyDrawnMap · 13/03/2018 12:13

In my dream laundry room I would have:

  1. A life sized oil painting of Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen in a silver frame
  2. A basket of kittens
  3. A really nice box of pencils.
MissSpurs · 13/03/2018 12:14

Dream laundry room would have to be - empty!

holey · 13/03/2018 12:18

Someone that isn't me!!!

In real life- two washing machines with enough space for super kingsize duvets, separate tumble dryer, again times two, loads of storage space to keep other household things like brooms and hoovers, indoor washing lines strung across so I could hang items properly, either using pegs or hangers. Worktops for folding/organising (dumping stuff that I couldn't think where else to put). Space for ironing and airers. And double doors out into the garden for easy access if it is a good drying day and if it rains I can bring things straight off the line to be hung indoors.

liamell · 13/03/2018 12:19

I would love to have just a clean laundry room, calming and with compartments for all things - rather than a mess on the floor, sides and the vision of stress

Emmax12 · 13/03/2018 12:25

I would love a utility room so I could have both a washing machine and a tumble drier. I would also like some counter top space above so I could sort clothes out there, and also some space for an airer to dry some clothes on.

If we are being really extravagant I would also like enough space for my ironing board, a little TV so I could watch tv whilst ironing and some lovely laundry baskets to keep all the washing in.

sammylea80 · 13/03/2018 12:25

I saw` a YouTube video of a machine that folds your clothes ... I need that in my life :)

BlueTablecloth · 13/03/2018 12:28

A door out to the garden to hang the washing, and a big ceiling airer for bad weather

emiai · 13/03/2018 12:31

My garden is my airer.. so id like a sunny sky please!

maryandbuzz1 · 13/03/2018 12:34

What a luxury! I would keep my ironing board but leave it set up all the time. I would love to walk out of the laundry room door to a washing line so when the weathers fair my washing could dry outside. Most of all I would love space so I had room to hand up shirts and sort clothes.

littlemonkeyz · 13/03/2018 12:38

A laundry robot in a pinny who just loves to wash, iron, sort and fold!
