Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

laundry chutes from each bedroom that brings the dirty laundry down (and auto sorts during the process. Actually, might as well have top loading machines for it to fall straight into. A robot to iron them once washed and dried would be great too.

I don't like washer dryers so 2 separate appliances. A Belfast sink as they're deep & robust. Work tops, shelves & a cupboard for storage of cleaning materials. I think space is the key thing rather than how good the appliances are.

jazzitup · 20/04/2018 09:02

Just someone in their to do it all, lol.

I would LOVE a laundry room big enough for tumble and washer as well as an airer propped up for all those smalls that cannot go in the dryer..

and maybe a little comfy chair maybe so i can hide in there to read my book :) a view of the garden and a door out would be great for nice sunny days too... sounds just dreamy to me x

An utility room is something I have always dreamed of it would have a door that opened onto the garden so that it would be light and airy with a separate washer and dryer lots of storage space and long worktops an area for ironing not that's my favourite job with lots of hanging for shirts and blouses well it costs nothing to dream.

i'd like plenty of cupboard space a large washer and large dryer a clothes steamer and one of them clothes press things because i find it hard to hold an iron at times

hmm, I've dreamt of a lot of things for my dream home but never a laundry room. I have a utility room which is fine but I wouldn't want to be doing the ironing, stuck in a room with a washing machine! I would like my utility room to be bigger but that's a different story

GeorgeW78 · 21/04/2018 00:06

I would love separate machines and a large laundry cupboard with all the items I need stored neatly. The room would have to be well organised so I didn't hate being in there and I'd have to have a radio to listen to as well!

wontbedoingthat · 21/04/2018 20:18

Definitely chutes for all the dirty washing to come down in and some sort of suction tubes to take them back up once they're clean. It would always be warm and because my children are afraid of the tumble dryer I will have an extra large noisy one so I can continue to use it as my hiding/reading/eating crisps room.

A reliable quiet washing machine - a tumble drier - some shelving, some flat space for folding, a cupboard and an ironing point - oh and a laundry maid!

Byrdie · 29/04/2018 10:29

I love to be able to iron in there... and have one of those pulley system airers. Could be a bit bigger I guess.... flat screen on the wall... coffee machine and a big cosy chair??! I could live in there for 5 months of my life, no problem!

mushyhead · 01/05/2018 08:59

currently renovating and I have seen many inspirational pictures of a laundry room with stylish cubby holes, lined baskets and swanky washing machines. Yes please to all of that. Unfortunately my house is not big enough for one.

Dan35 · 02/05/2018 21:04

A hidden pull-out ironing board, separate washing machine and tumble drier, and cupboards big enough to take the massive boxes of washing powder and bottles of fabric conditioner that I buy! Grin

TheGirlWhoLived · 03/05/2018 09:13

I'd put top of the range tumbledryer, washing machine, and heated airer in there, with a cupboard full of amazing products! So Fairy non-bio gel, comfort fabric conditioner, lenor unstoppables beads, vanish remover, colour catcher sheets, washing machine cleaners, tumble dryer sheets and antibacterial wash (for the pukey bedlinen etc!)

And obviously this would be replaced automatically.

Id have different baskets for washed, dryed and 'need to move to the next thing' and each would have its own space.

And i'd have a cd player/ipod dock to blast out some good 90's songs whilst doing the laundry!
