Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Lots of cupboard, space, a good washing machine, dryer, and a space to dry the washing

grannybiker · 16/04/2018 19:53

Plenty of space and cupboards!
Hanging airer and tumble dryer that's so energy efficient it pays ME! Oh and the clothes come out crease-free and ready folded.

princesssmithee · 16/04/2018 20:37

lots of cupboards and nice shelves

CGORST · 16/04/2018 20:40

Oooohh - my laundry room (and I have fantasized about this) would have plenty of reachable shelves, loads of storage space for all my cleaning products, a separate washer (one that I could add things to once the cycle had started) and dryer, a Belfast sink so there's loads of room to manoeuvre, one of those Victorian airers on the ceiling, a steam generator iron and an ironing board that could be hidden away. I told you I'd been fantasizing about it....

KJB1978 · 16/04/2018 21:01

I'd love a white and calm room with enclosed cupboards and music all around with a washing line on the ceiling and tiled floors and a low sink to wash the dogs without trashing the whole house!

rennie1811 · 16/04/2018 21:07

I would have perfectly sorted clothes, a basket for whites, one for colours and one for darks. a bench for sorting everything out, a huge washing machine and dryer so I only need to do one load rather than loads of loads

Yaracuy · 16/04/2018 21:07

2 washing machines: one small capacity for a very few garments and a large one for the weekly washing.
A dryer, a tumble dryer, some lines for clothes to dry naturally in Summer in a large room with an open window

Lisapaige24 · 16/04/2018 21:16

Two washing machines
Two dryers
Cordless iron
Lots of shelves
More worktops
Oh and preferably someone to do the laundry 😂🤣😂

moneypenny66 · 16/04/2018 22:10

Two washing machines and 2 tumble dryers. An automatic ironing machine. And failing all that, a butler to do it all for me!

pkelly2018 · 16/04/2018 22:24

An empty laundry basket! (This would mean I was totally up to date with all the ironing!)

Jael003 · 16/04/2018 22:28

Right now where that means my washing and drying isn't in the kitchen would be amazing. I don't have a dryer so that's number 1 on my list right now (plus of course a state of the art washing machine). I never iron unless it's desperate, but a fancy ironing machine would be awesome. And honestly, that's about it.

UrbiEtOrbi · 16/04/2018 22:33

Sorry. Have never dreamed of a laundry room. Not really an aspiration.

bob55 · 16/04/2018 22:34

me with my 300 pounds worth of vouchers i think

feeona123 · 16/04/2018 22:53

I'd want a dryer in the house to start with - mine is in the garage at the mo so I have to walk outside.

Then I would like room to dry semi damp clothes as I currently do this in the bathroom!

Shelves would be good also to fold things away on.

Chrisboswell9281 · 16/04/2018 22:54

A robot who would do the laundry for me.

Sjwoo3d · 17/04/2018 06:33

An entertainment system to keep me occupied whilst in the laundry room!

phillie1 · 17/04/2018 08:32

someone to iron the clothes

mclarkie · 17/04/2018 08:50

One of those rubber devices with suction cup to stick onto the washing machine. :)

FlickeringEmber · 17/04/2018 09:22

A professional laundry person to do it all for me - ironing too!

duffell · 17/04/2018 09:33

Just something that did the ironing is all I wish for

SamSand · 17/04/2018 10:53

I'd have a professional ironing machine

veegstez · 17/04/2018 12:22

I'd love a washer and dryer, lots of space for drying racks, radiators, a window and lots of storage space!

kpdchudleigh · 17/04/2018 12:28

Having everyone actually put their dirty washing in the room would be a good start, instead of me having to go on missions to pick it all up off the floors. Then some sort of gadgetry to make ironing simple would be a dream.

HannahLI · 17/04/2018 14:04

Our laundry room is currently our garage and its often full of stuff, dark cold, caked in muddy things not an ideal situation. I would love space thats clean to put the laundry down so I can sort it, somewhere that I could iron and rails so I can store clothes to dry them and then iron them. Most of the ironing stuff gets so creased whilst waiting to be ironed its difficult to get them out. A desinated space would also be great even if it was a really big cupboard that you only go to for laundry.

Bandycoot · 17/04/2018 14:25

A laundry chute from the upstairs bathroom, big shelves with laundry baskets for sorting, big sink for all the jobs where the kitchen sink is too small, and a door to the outside for hanging laundry out in good weather, washing machine capable of washing duvets and a dryer for use in wet weather/big hurry. Not too much too ask is it?
