Mistaken post before, best Christmas film has got to be home alone! Any of them! 1/2/3!!!

minceandpotatoes · 28/11/2017 18:18

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - saw it at the cinema last Christmas and thought it was wonderful and magical.

YesThisIsMe · 28/11/2017 18:21

We loved Beauty and the Beast, Lego Batman and GOTG2 at the cinema, but I think the one we’d choose to curl up with as a family is Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The muppets Christmas Carol.

I love how much of the original writing they've used, despite it being staged by the muppets.

The songs are great too, and it's not too long.

It's also nice to have a film that isn't focused on father christmas and presents.

Ahhh, One Magic Christmas !

I adore this movie .... I caught it by accident one Christmas Eve morning - it was on really early, on bbc2, and I’d never seen it before. I must have been about 12 at the time, so a long time ago! I was so taken with it, and then never saw it again, I couldn’t even remember what it was called! It was before the days of googling everything so I couldn’t even look it up.

Fast forward about 10years, and it still bugged me, and then that Christmas I accidentally caught it again , but this time took note of what it was called, and spent the next few years trying to find it on dvd to no avail!

Finally, a few years ago, I found it! It’s my ‘watch on my own with a mug of hot chocolate’ movie. I only watch it once at Christmas, never again during the year, as I don’t want to ruin it!

From the list it would have to be home alone 2 - all the home alone films have the whole family laughing!

Morifarty · 28/11/2017 20:12

Wot no Die Hard?

silverrose · 28/11/2017 20:15

The Muskets Christmas Carol - it's a family tradition to watch it every year

torthecatlady · 28/11/2017 20:31

Miracle on 34th Street. (The remake with Mara Wilson)

It's a beautiful film, but I love lots of Christmas films!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 28/11/2017 20:32

With the lack of Jingle All The Way, I'll have to choose Muppet Christmas Carol. DS is 3 so his attention span is better for films now. We watched Elf and Polar Express last weekend, which he enjoyed.

firawla · 28/11/2017 21:01

Love actually - we watch it every year and it just gets me into a really warm and fuzzy festive mood!

pnutter · 28/11/2017 21:14

Polar Express for me. Such a lovely story of Christmas from a kids point of view. Great music, colourful, Steven Tyler at the end Grin

danigrace · 28/11/2017 21:17

It's A Wonderful Life as it's traditional, nostalgic, captures what should be the true spirit of Christmas, and is oh so feel good

merrykate · 28/11/2017 21:42

The Sound of Music because it reminds me of happy Christmases spent with my grandma who would make 'the dog' sing My Favourite Things! And now my daughter also loves this film, but I haven't perfected the dog's voice... yet!

mogloveseggs · 28/11/2017 21:55

Muppets Christmas carol. I know it word for word Blush

LondonLassInTheCountry · 28/11/2017 22:10

Love actually.

Because its about love and being together. Just what christmas should be about

CoffeeAndEnnui · 28/11/2017 22:16

Our NOW TV Christmas pick would unquestionably be Scrooged. For its majestic ghostfairy-twats-a-man-with-a-toaster scene and because...Bill flipping Murray!

NauticalDisaster · 28/11/2017 22:44

It's a Wonderful Life is a lovely movie. It is life affirming and reminds of what really matters.

ErinSophia · 28/11/2017 22:44

Polar Express, we love it as it's a lovely film and me and my husband like to sing along and embarrass our girls hehe.

CheeseEMouse · 28/11/2017 22:47

I'd like the muppets as i always enjoyed watching as a child. My daughter would choose Olaf because she is Frozen obsessed

aglaranna · 28/11/2017 23:41

The Grinch! The kids adore it and so do I

Dixiestampsagain · 29/11/2017 00:29

Seeing thatbthe original Home Alone isn’t on the list i’ll Have to say The Sound of Music.

cgraves · 29/11/2017 00:32

For us it has got to be the muppet Christmas Carol. ... every year we watch it about 100 times... it is our family guilty pleasure. ..❤

Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas - it has been a favourite of mine since I was a child and now I watch it with my niece.
