The Grinch definitely. There's so many laughs in it.

AtlanticSelkie · 30/11/2017 00:32

It has to be Love Actually!

honeyandginger48 · 30/11/2017 06:52

The Grinch wins. My daughter has always loved it and it’s become a family tradition to all sit down and watch it.

WowOoo · 30/11/2017 07:14

Trading Places for me - it's funny and touching.

ZarduHasselfrau · 30/11/2017 07:59

Love Actually - my friends and I, who are scattered across the planet, set a time so we can all watch it at once on Christmas Eve, no matter where each of us happens to be.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them / Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ... neither are Christmas films but they are both all about acceptance, love, and what it means to be a family - very much a Christmas message. They both have a lot of deep connections for my partner and me.

But... It's A Wonderful Life is quite simply, the greatest Christmas film ever made! Definitely my No.1 Chrimbo film.

Released the year after WWII ended, it was a much-needed feelgood movie, and still serves as a timely reminder of what's really important in life; compassion, kindness, family, friends, and love. Is that not what Christmas is about? It's a beautiful film, which, no matter how many times I watch it, still brings tears to my eyes.

Plus, it has awesome clothes, hair, and makeup!

Polar Express, it is so Christmassy and magical.

dkb15164 · 30/11/2017 10:31

The Polar Express is definitely our family favourite to watch on Christmas Eve curled up with some hot chocolate and popcorn snacks.

SillyMoomin · 30/11/2017 12:02

Got to be Home Alone 2

New York, Snow, The Big Christmas Tree, lights twinkling and the oh so comforting tunes of the home alone sound track... can anything else just scream christmas???! Grin

ilovekitkats · 30/11/2017 12:07

On the list above, my favourite would be Christmas with the Kranks. Another favourite is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/11/2017 12:11

Difficult choice from that list. But I think The Muppets Christmas Carol just edges it. It never fails to make me laugh.

Mumversation123 · 30/11/2017 15:04

Polar bear express would be our favourite this year, I included them in a blog post I wrote. mumversation.com/2017/11/29/best-family-christmas-films-on-netflix-amazon-prime-and-now-tv/

KittySlicker · 30/11/2017 16:48

Muppet Christmas Carol has always been my 'Christmas Eve film' whilst baking up a storm (well, when I didn't have children trashing the house the moment my back is turned!). Problem is I have to sing along to all the songs... :)

HELENSCRESCENT · 30/11/2017 17:07

The polar express, the children love it and it just has a magucal christmas feeling about it. Perfect to watch under a duvet with a hot chocolate.

Starlight85 · 30/11/2017 17:27

I love watching Love Actually at Christmas

bunbunny · 30/11/2017 17:50

I saw It's A Wonderful Life in the cinema years ago and have never got around to seeing it again - so now I have dc I'd like to watch it with them and I think now that they're 12 and 9 they're a good age to start to appreciate it. We watched that other Christmas classic - Sound of Music - with them earlier in the year, which they loved so am hopeful that we can all sit down with popcorn, favourite chocolates, blankets and snuggle up all warm and cosy to watch it by the light of the christmas tree, while it's cold outside.

Having said that, I haven't ever seen Fantastic Beasts and I am looking forward to seeing it - but having not seen it, I'm not going to claim it as a favourite.

And there are lots of other films on there that are also favourites so it's a difficult choice - Love Actually, Muppets Christmas, Elf, Home Alones, Sound of Music... Going to stop before I copy out most of your list Grin

‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ is really magical. We all love it.

mrsreynolds · 30/11/2017 19:52

Muppet Christmas carol

Aquiver · 30/11/2017 20:09

Ooh definitely 'It's A Wonderful Life'! Such a feel-good film, and an absolute classic.

Can't wait to rewatch it this Christmas!

Candyperfumegirl · 30/11/2017 20:10

Bad santa coz it's a fab christmas movie for grown ups !

Wolfcub · 30/11/2017 21:12

Christmas with the Kranks, you can’t have Christmas without Blairy, Frosty and a Hickory Honey Ham. Hilarious but also some really touching aspects of community and family and both the Christmas Crazy and Christmas spirit.

Summergarden · 30/11/2017 21:16

The polar express.

Beautifulbutterfly82 · 30/11/2017 21:41

Home Alone!! Because it was my favourite Christmas film, then my younger brothers, and now it's my 5 year old sons favourite Christmas film! What a classic!!

GetKnitted · 30/11/2017 21:56

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them,Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

sharmanda · 30/11/2017 22:02

I love ‘Love Actually’. I always put this on near to Christmas as I like all of the cast and it makes me feel Christmassy as there are so many different scenarios that happen around this time of year.

sm2012 · 30/11/2017 22:27

Polar Express, it's so magical, the whole family enjoy it every year
