The team at NOW TV would love to hear which Christmas movie gets your family together and huddled around the TV with appropriately festive snacks Xmas Smile. Do you go for a classic, a new favourite, an animated flick or one which isn’t technically about Christmas but still reminds you of that time of year?

NOW TV say “With NOW TV, we have a host of family movies lined up for the festive period - from Frozen to The Polar Express and even the classic Sound of Music! Families can also enjoy newer movies like Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and The Lego Batman Movie - all from the comfort of their own front room!”

Whatever the preference in your house, add your most-loved Christmas movie below and why it's simply the best for you and yours, and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

My son loves The Polar Express, we’re all going to see it at our local cinema soon and we get to meet santa too and I think he gives them a special ‘believe’ bell. Can’t wait! Smile

Gosh, I thought everyone would be choosing Love Actually! This is our absolute must watch. Plus It's a Wonderful Life. And then just because, 2012. And The Boat That Rocked. Feel-good movies that you can't help but love.
After these, it's anything else you can sing along to, so Chitty (obvs), Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Hairspray!

Elf because it never fails to make us all laugh!

jollyjester · 22/11/2017 21:59

We love Home Alone 2: Lost in New York to watch with DD aged 6. Dd1 is still only 1 but she'll love the mischief Kevin gets up to! DH was pondering how many years we'll have to wait to take them to New York to see Christmas lights!

My favourite times have been with family gathered round late afternoon, the tree twinkling, mince pies and mulled wine on tap, and the grandaddy of all festive movies, It's a Wonderful Life, on the TV. It never fails to soften even the hardest of hearts.

Two hours later and it's time for turkey sandwiches and a chorus of 'Let's watch another one!'

Nightmare Before Christmas! Also suitable for Halloween Smile

Miracle on 42nd Street. Old, uncolourised, lovely.

Thesqueezermustghost · 22/11/2017 22:16

Whoops, misplaced the street!

chaplin1409 · 22/11/2017 22:18

It'd Polar express for us. It's just a lovely calm yet festive film.

babypossum · 22/11/2017 22:29

It's a Wonderful Life

MitMopse · 22/11/2017 23:40

Miracle on 34th Street. The Dickie Attenborough remake. Every Christmas Eve, snuggled up in PJs with snacks of cheese, crackers and mince pies from the forbidden Christmas stash.

It offers the perfect combination of sweet, bittersweet, sentimental and festive feelings. And is comfortingly long so we can finally sit down as a family and just be still together!

OldWitch00 · 23/11/2017 01:33

I subject my family to "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Danny Kay.

MotherOfBeagles · 23/11/2017 02:35

My mum adores and makes the whole family watch the Tim Allen Santa Claus films every year. Chet the reindeer is definitely a highlight!

SpikeGilesSandwich · 23/11/2017 02:40

Gremlins.

We all love Elf....it's so ridiculous but we all still love it

IndianaMoleWoman · 23/11/2017 03:43

Elf
Home Alone (1&2 only: Home Alone 3 is an abomination)
Christmas With The Kranks

I like to watch The Holiday whilst wrapping presents whilst the kids are in bed of an evening. It’s a terrible film but I love it!

I used to love Love Actually but not watched it since having little kids. The bit with Emma Thomson made me weep pre-kids, god knows what it’d be like now!

My eldest loves The Snowman but I can’t cope with it, it’s just too sad.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!

mermaidsandunicorns · 23/11/2017 04:40

Muppet Christmas carol love it

Snog · 23/11/2017 04:56

On Moonlight bay

TheKnackeredChef · 23/11/2017 05:14

It has to be Elf. It's a ritual in our house that we sit down on Christmas Eve in our new pyjamas, order pizza (deep pan, crisp and even. Sorry. I'll get my coat) and we watch Elf. The DCs will not countenance watching it before then - it HAS to be Christmas Eve. Other films like Arthur Christmas, Muppets' Christmas Carol and The Grinch are all favourites as well and come out regularly over the holiday, but Elf is properly special for us.

churchilllounge · 23/11/2017 06:21

Stick man! We all love it. It isn't Christmas without it.

piraterach · 23/11/2017 07:42

We don’t have any children in the immediate family at the moment so our favourite Christmas film is Sinderella by Jim Davidson. A little controversial and risqué for a pantomime but my dad and I laugh at the same bits every single year Grin.
